About: I'm retired, so I'm available most of the time. I have worked with two different German Shepherd Rescues as a foster mom. I also volunteer at the local regional animal shelter. I have helped train many dogs over the years. I also have quite a bit of cat experience, as well as birds, fish (both salt and freshwater tanks) and reptiles, I enjoy cats, and find that they are all very unique. If you can show me how to perform the necessary tasks, I can do them. I will ensure that your babies get their special diet, their meds (pills or injections), their specific bedtime routine, or even just their exact required number of belly rubs and forehead kisses to keep their routine as steady as possible. I can visit before I go to work in the mornings, anytime during evenings and weekends, and I can do midday check-ins for a quick potty break or medications on my lunch break. Being aware of animal body language helps me approach and interact with animals within their comfort zone and not stress them. Your pets are your family and I strive to treat them as such! I’ve cared for people’s pets for 2 years, including dog walking, taking dogs to the dog park, pet sitting. I have also worked with reactive dogs, and leash reactive dogs. I am not a professional trainer but as someone who has adopted a reactive dog and worked with him through it to the point he is no longer reactive, I know it can be stressful. I follow their lead first on their trust and comfort with me. To gain this trust I read their body language and allow them space to approach and interact with me as they see fit! I try to stay present and in their sight, typically by sitting on the couch or floor to show them I am not a threat and I am calm. I talk to softly and only pet if it’s invited! Once your pet shows they trust and feel comfortable they get all the lovings and pets they want. I’ll play with them and walk with them. You tell me what your pets need and I got them!

“WOW! LAURA was amazing! First of all, I booked with a different Rover person who had to cancel last minute and Laura stepped up without hesitation. That took a ton of stress off of me. Second, she was so sweet with my babies and took amazing pictures while we were away which made me feel better while we were gone. She went above and beyond and even printed them out and had them waiting for us when we came home! IT WAS THE SWEETEST TOUCH EVER!
