“Kylie did an amazing job watching my girls!! She took good care of them and provided me with updates whenever I wanted and checked in with me on her own (including sending photos). She left my house immaculate (especially being here 2 weeks) and she is incredibly kind and thoughtful! I highly recommend her for others looking for a pet sitter and will definitely request her when I need a pet sitter in the future!”

“Mary house sat for us and took care of our two pitbulls while we were on vacation! The house was in great condition when we got home and she sent photos of the dogs while we were away. I would book with her again!”

“Paul went above and beyond in the care of our girls and in taking care of our home while we were away. We received texts and pictures multiple times a day and knew they were well cared for and loved. It was such a comfort knowing our special needs lady was getting exactly what she needed and even some extra loving care!”
“Nancy was so phenomenal! She was extremely communicative and sent tons of photo updates. She was also very accommodating to our last minute addition of a fur baby to our reservation. Would absolutely hire her again.”

“Kaitlyn genuinely joyed taking care of my pets. They are both on medications and it's challenging to dispense them correctly. It was done perfectly. She took really cute pictures of them and kept in touch with how things were going. I am hiring her again!”

“Lyla was a fantastic dog/house sitter! We got pictures and updates each day we were gone. Our pups were treated like her own and they were genuinely loved while we were gone. There’s nothing better than leaving and not having stress because Lyla was there with them! Everything was clean, dogs were walked and Lyla was great at communicating. Hoping we get the opportunity to have her sit for our pups again!”

“An incredibly thoughtful, kind, thorough, and all-around fantastic dog-sitter. We hired Anthea to care for our two pups (one a young very timid yet somehow still energetic yorkie mix rescue pup, the other a geriatric parsons Russell terrier who is dealing with some doggie dementia), and she was incredible. Met both dogs where they were were at and went above and beyond in the care for the pups and the care for our home. Gave our pups lots of attention, exercise, and love; gave us detailed updates and lots of photos on how the pups were doing; and we retuned to a home in better condition than it was when we left for the weekend! The Mary Poppins of dog-sitters!”

“Venessa was nothing short of amazing. We last minute needed someone to stay with our dogs for a day while we were at work and she answered the call! I was sent pictures of my 3 fur babies all day with constant updates and communication. I will without a doubt be calling on Venessa again when we need someone to stay with the dogs.”
“Extremely appreciative and pleased with Ingrid's house sitting! She promptly responded to all messages, provided reassuring check-ins, and carefully looked after our neurotic (reactive) Mini Aussie.”

“Shelby was fantastic! We have booked with her before and will book with her again. She took great care of Minka (our old kitty) who has some health issues and needs medication. Minka usually gets stressed when we leave and Shelby was able to keep her happy, healthy, loved, and entertained. She sent us great pictures and kept our house clean and our garden watered. She was exactly what we needed, communicated well and understood all our instructions.”

“Salem is incredibly understanding, knowledgeable, and accomodating. I 100% recommend and would book again to house sit my two cats! Met all their needs and more especially with one of my boys with urinary issues and needed medication. Updates were informative, asked plenty of questions when needed, and returned to a clean home and two happy boys 😸😸”

About: For 15 years I ran a successful dog walking business outside of Boston, and have now returned to the northwest to help my mother age in place. I'm missing my animal friends, and am ready to help with yours! I'm experienced and mature, conscientious, reliable and careful, with the same high expectations for myself that you have. I understand the importance of good relationships with anyone you bring into your pet's life - both for your pet and for you - and building relationships and community is what I most loved about my dog walking business. My schedule is quite flexible! Being retired definitely opens up my availability, and I aim to be as accommodating and helpful as possible to meet your pet's needs. Safety and privacy are important priorities, and I am always respectful of both. I have years of experience accessing clients' homes and caring for their pets - more than 250 pets over the years - without any problems. I am professional and experienced, with a proven record.

“Our family needed Jacob during a very difficult time. Jacob was kind, prompt, and immediately hit it off with our girls (Bear and Tookie). He was available to provide last minute care for our fur babies and sent updates daily on their well-being. We will definitely utilize Jacob‘s services in the future. He comes highly recommended by all our family members!”

“Maureen always takes such great care of our dog and two cats! And always keeps the house very clean. Sweet and keeps us well updated. Will be reaching out again!”

About: I have always loved dogs. I grew up with a black lab (age 5-18), and when I was in high school I frequently watched dogs and cats in a pet sitting capacity. Pet sitting for neighbors and friends was my first job, and as soon as I got my drivers license, I expanded my pet sitting clientele. As an adult, my husband and I had a rescue dog (Pitt/lab mix) who was our fur baby. When we adopted her, she had separation anxiety and resource guarding issues. We worked with a trainer to help her overcome those issues, and were grateful for the wonderful years we enjoyed with her. Unfortunately, she died in early 2025. While we are not in a position to have our own dog right now, we would love to continue to snuggle and support local dogs through pet sitting. We do have a toddler at home. She loves dogs and we would never leave her unattended with any animal. While we will be careful to ensure any dogs in our care are set up for success by being separated from our toddler with baby gates, etc., we are only able to host dogs who are comfortable around small children. I am a middle school teacher, so I have full-time availability during school breaks and the summer. I am also available to drop in before and/or after my work, depending on the location. My husband, Cristopher, works from home and loves having a dog as his co-worker to be let out on demand. As dog owners, we never left our own dog home alone for more than 4-5 hours, and we will only accept a boarding booking if our schedule allows the same time commitment to your dog. We treat all dogs like they are our own. As a former pet parent, I know that I can never replace you, but I will do everything I can to make sure your dog feels comfortable and safe in my care. We have a fenced yard with no animals in our home (except for the occasional wild bunny). Our yard has plenty of space for dogs to run around and play.
About: I grew up taking care of 3 dogs in my own household, all living to ages 11, 10, and 14 years old. I have experience in agility training and have helped my Uncle train Malinois, some who are K9 certified. I have dog and cat sat(including overnight) for neighbors, family, and friends. I have experience training basic tricks to puppies and taking care of them. I have experience with dogs and cats of all ages. I’ve also taken care of bigger animals such as horses! I have free time to hangout and take care of your pet! I am able to stay overnight, check in, and am available every day of the week! I will follow your household instructions and take care of your dog or cat like it is my own, I will make sure to keep them protected and safe.
“Destiny was very attentive and went above and beyond to ensure our dog was comfortable while we were out of town. We had a change in our schedule and she was more than willing to help so that our dog wasn’t alone. She also provided updates with pictures and was very responsive anytime we reached out to her. I definitely recommend Destiny for your pet sitting needs.”

Allison was so sweet and caring. My dog Tato doesn't warm up quickly normally and she was glued to Allison the minute they met. She clearly is an animal lover and a good person in general! I got picture updates and good communication and I was told my house was left clean. Tato and Tillie would be very happy to have her back!

Thank you so much for taking such excellent care of our dogs! It was such a relief and peace of mind to know that they were in Sarah‘s excellent hands. It’s clear every time that she comes in the door to take care of them that they absolutely adore her. Nothing can make us happier! Thank you again.

Theresa took great care of our pups, and provided photos and update's during the stay. We appreciate that she made sure each dog was comfortable, while making sure all their needs were met. We will be using Theresa again for any future pet sitting needs.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Battle Ground walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Battle Ground maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Battle Ground choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Battle Ground. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
