“Paul went above and beyond in the care of our girls and in taking care of our home while we were away. We received texts and pictures multiple times a day and knew they were well cared for and loved. It was such a comfort knowing our special needs lady was getting exactly what she needed and even some extra loving care!”
“Shelby did a wonderful job taking care of our cat, house, and plants. Minka has some chronic health issues that get worse when we travel. We booked Shelby for overnight stays and Minka did really well. Shelby was great at communication, managed all of the medications, was respectful of our house and requests. She kept our plants in good condition despite an unexpected heat wave. She left the house very clean and we’d be happy to book her again.”

“Lyla did a great job: she was willing to come meet the pups beforehand, showed up on time to house/dog sit, sent photos and updates, and left the house and dogs clean and happy. We hope to use Lyla for future dog care needs and highly recommend her to others.”

“Anthea was great!! She was very reliable and loving with our 2 doggies. She took them on walks everyday, and took them to the local dog park to play with other dogs. One of our dogs needs medication 3 times a day, she had no problem administering those. Every night she sent updates and pictures! The house was clean when we got home. She picked up the poop, took garbage out and brought in the mail. I would highly recommend Anthea to stay at your home and watch your pets.”

“Tiffany was timely, thorough, invested, and approachable. She made sure she was available to be with our dogs for the entire stay, which is very important as they need a lot of human presence. Our dogs connected with her immediately, she had them playing with her within moments of her meeting them. Tiffany took a ton of photos, and we could easily see that the dogs were safe and happy all throughout our trip. We highly recommend Tiffany.”

About: I've taken care of dogs pretty regularly, from chihuahuas to great danes. I work well with senior dogs just as well as energetic young dogs :) I'm an online graduate student with an internship in Vancouver, but my schedule is pretty flexible. I'm almost always open on weekends as well. Whatever fits you needs. I have a fenced in yard at home, and food is usually separated from my other pets' food and typical routines to limit interaction. At a clients home, I work hard to keep the home pristine and keep an eye on your pets wherever they go.
“Extremely appreciative and pleased with Ingrid's house sitting! She promptly responded to all messages, provided reassuring check-ins, and carefully looked after our neurotic (reactive) Mini Aussie.”

“Kaitlyn genuinely joyed taking care of my pets. They are both on medications and it's challenging to dispense them correctly. It was done perfectly. She took really cute pictures of them and kept in touch with how things were going. I am hiring her again!”

“Roree was an absolutely amazing and trustworthy pet sitter! I have two puppies, a senior dog, and two cats. She went above and beyond caring for all of them! I was worried because they have special feeding schedules and dietary needs, and one requires medication (which is not easy to get her to take). Roree handled it all with no problem. She even sent me the cutest pictures of them playing in the snow. Beyond her excellent care for my pets, she took perfect care of my house, too. It's such a relief knowing I can leave my house and my "babies" with her and not worry about a thing. I also really appreciate how flexible and accommodating Roree is. She's responsive, communicative, and I can tell she truly cares about animals. I highly recommend Roree to anyone looking for a reliable, loving, and trustworthy pet/house sitter!”

“I highly recommend Susana for a dog sitter! She was incredibly responsive from start to finish, which gave us so much peace of mind. Our dogs absolutely loved her — it was clear they were comfortable, happy, and well cared for the entire time. We came home to relaxed pups and a tidy house. Truly a wonderful experience, and we’d book with her again in a heartbeat!”

“Sylvia was great with my 2 dogs, one being very shy. I was anxious leaving them for several days but she sent multiple updates and showed they were doing just fine. Will definitely have her watch them again.”

About: I’ve been dog sitting for different families for about two years and have really enjoyed it. I understand how important it is for pets to feel safe and comfortable when their owners are away, so I do my best to keep their routines consistent and give them plenty of attention, care, and affection. Whether it’s feeding, walking, playing, cleaning up after them, or just spending time with them, I treat every dog as if they were my own. Families have trusted me to care for their dogs, and I take that responsibility seriously. I do work part time, I work full 8 hour days on Thursdays and sometimes Fridays. The other days I work 5-6 hours. I’m usually off around 4:30 or 5 but my start times vary. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I do my best to keep their routine as normal as possible. I follow all instructions provided by the owner, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medication (if needed), and any special care requirements. I make sure pets have plenty of attention, exercise, and companionship while also respecting the client’s home and keeping it clean and secure. My goal is for both pets and owners to feel comfortable, safe, and well cared for while they’re apart
About: I’ve had my own personal pets all my life and believe pets are family and treat them as such. I have also take care of friends, and family pets as well. Just did house sitting with 2 Australian cattle dogs, 2 cats and 6 chickens. Currently, I do not have any pets of my own as I lost my 2 Boston terriers last year. I love animals and anyone who knows me knows me, knows this about me. I work from home full-time and I can work from anywhere that has internet. I just bring my laptop and I’m able to care for your fur kids all day :) I am especially good at cuddles all day, walks, and feeding/playing with your fur kids. My motto is animals are better than humans because they are. I love them!
“When Kelly first came to meet our girls she was understanding and patient with our dogs. My oldest Zola tends to be overprotective of me when others are around, she shows it by barking constantly. Kelly was gentle and knew how to engage. During her day with our girls she sent us pictures and videos of my girls! She also communicated with us while we were away on how they were behaving and what they were up to! Thank you Kelly for caring for our girls!”

“Shani did a great job caring for our two dogs over four days/nights! She gave us updates, sent great photos, and gave the pups lots of exercise and love! In addition to the great care she gave our dogs, she kept our plants alive and left the house very clean! We highly recommend her and are happy she’ll watch our dogs in the future!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Battle Ground
Sarah was awesome!!! It was clear from the second she met the dogs that they loved her. She is a natural with dogs and took extra special care of them. Our dogs are everything to us and knowing they were in such good hands and care allowed us to enjoy our time away. Thanks again Sarah!

Overall, it was a good experience with Leah and using Rover. Both animals were taken care of and had no issues when we returned. Some minor things that we noticed: Dog food was spilled on the floor in the closet we keep the food bin in that wasn't cleaned up and not enough attention was paid to which supplement treat was being given as Mac got more probiotics and not any joint supplement at some point due to opening and feeding from the wrong bag.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Battle Ground walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Battle Ground maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Battle Ground choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
