Nancy is simply the best! She instantly fell in love with our tuxedo kitty, Ranger, and gave him wonderful, loving care. She was attentive to details and kept us updated through text messages and photos. We had peace of mind knowing our kitty was in great hands with her, and we will definitely Invite her to come back again the next time we go out of town. She also left our home very tidy and clean.

About: I've taken care of dogs pretty regularly, from chihuahuas to great danes. I work well with senior dogs just as well as energetic young dogs :) I'm an online graduate student with an internship in Vancouver, but my schedule is pretty flexible. I'm almost always open on weekends as well. Whatever fits you needs. I have a fenced in yard at home, and food is usually separated from my other pets' food and typical routines to limit interaction. At a clients home, I work hard to keep the home pristine and keep an eye on your pets wherever they go.

Lyla did a great job: she was willing to come meet the pups beforehand, showed up on time to house/dog sit, sent photos and updates, and left the house and dogs clean and happy. We hope to use Lyla for future dog care needs and highly recommend her to others.

About: I've cared for pets—my own and those of friends and family—for years, and it's a passion of mine. I love cats and dogs equally, and at home I've got two sweet, energetic Bengal cats who keep me on my toes! Whether it's playtime, walks, feeding, or just cuddles, I'll treat your pets like part of my own family. Reliable, attentive, and always happy to help! I have a flexible schedule as I work from home and live in the Ridgefield area. I am happy to travel to Salmon Creek, La Center or Northern Vancouver. Pets do best in familiar environments — especially cats — so I always come to your home rather than the other way around. I treat every pet like my own: love, attention, and energy matched to their activity level. Just tell me what they need, and I'll take care of it. While you're away, I'll send frequent updates so you stay connected, and will stick to their normal routine to keep them comfortable. I've worked with all kinds of breeds, personalities, and quirks. Earning trust with both pets and their owners is my top priority — love and play are a close second. I'm happy to bring your pet to dog parks, rivers or trails so they can have fun while you are away.

Kylie did an amazing job watching my girls!! She took good care of them and provided me with updates whenever I wanted and checked in with me on her own (including sending photos). She left my house immaculate (especially being here 2 weeks) and she is incredibly kind and thoughtful! I highly recommend her for others looking for a pet sitter and will definitely request her when I need a pet sitter in the future!

Krystal is absolutely amazing! We have a very fragile diabetic pup, that we adore! Because of her insulin needs and blood sugar checks, as well as also having addisons disease (which complicates her blood sugars even more), we haven’t gone on a family vacation since her diagnosis three years ago. She is an amazing dog, but complicated to care for. So, when our family was planning to leave town, we found Krystal on Rover. After seeing her past work history and her comfort with administering injections, we decided to meet her and see how it went. She stopped by and talked with us and met the pups. She took detailed notes about their needs and medications and we knew within minutes Krystal was the perfect person to watch them. Before leaving on vacation, Krystal came over again and re-met the pups, she completed the medications, blood sugar, insulin and feeding routine while we were there to answer any questions she may have. That gave us even more confidence with leaving. Krystal completed the medication routine with ease and the fact that she cares enough to run through the routine with the owners before they leave speaks volumes to the quality of care she provides. When we were on vacation, we kept in touch about my pups blood sugars and insulin needs, she sent daily photos of our crew and when we got home, our house was perfect and our dogs looked amazing. We also have a naughty cat and Krystal was fabulous with her too! I recommend Krystal to anyone that is looking for someone to watch their animals while they’re away. She provides exceptional care and you can tell Krystal cares for them like they’re her own. Also, I personally know how hard it is to leave your animal when they are medically fragile, but Krystal is 100% competent to care for animals with challenging needs!

Pictures, videos and updates of how things are going on the home front. Our house is as clean as we left it and there is such a peace of mind knowing they are there for our family! They go the extra mile and then some! Can’t recommend them highly enough.

About: I have always loved dogs. I grew up with a black lab (age 5-18), and when I was in high school I frequently watched dogs and cats in a pet sitting capacity. Pet sitting for neighbors and friends was my first job, and as soon as I got my drivers license, I expanded my pet sitting clientele. As an adult, my husband and I had a rescue dog (Pitt/lab mix) who was our fur baby. When we adopted her, she had separation anxiety and resource guarding issues. We worked with a trainer to help her overcome those issues, and were grateful for the wonderful years we enjoyed with her. Unfortunately, she died in early 2025. While we are not in a position to have our own dog right now, we would love to continue to snuggle and support local dogs through pet sitting. We do have a toddler at home. She loves dogs and we would never leave her unattended with any animal. While we will be careful to ensure any dogs in our care are set up for success by being separated from our toddler with baby gates, etc., we are only able to host dogs who are comfortable around small children. I am a middle school teacher, so I have full-time availability during school breaks and the summer. I am also available to drop in before and/or after my work, depending on the location. My husband, Cristopher, works from home and loves having a dog as his co-worker to be let out on demand. As dog owners, we never left our own dog home alone for more than 4-5 hours, and we will only accept a boarding booking if our schedule allows the same time commitment to your dog. We treat all dogs like they are our own. As a former pet parent, I know that I can never replace you, but I will do everything I can to make sure your dog feels comfortable and safe in my care. We have a fenced yard with no animals in our home (except for the occasional wild bunny). Our yard has plenty of space for dogs to run around and play.

We came home to a house just as we left it, and our dog was so chill that I could tell she had been well-loved while we were away. I won't hesitate to use Madisen again.

About: For 15 years I ran a successful dog walking business outside of Boston, and have now returned to the northwest to help my mother age in place. I'm missing my animal friends, and am ready to help with yours! I'm experienced and mature, conscientious, reliable and careful, with the same high expectations for myself that you have. I understand the importance of good relationships with anyone you bring into your pet's life - both for your pet and for you - and building relationships and community is what I most loved about my dog walking business. We had a fantastic experience! It gave us so much peace of mind knowing our pups were able to stay in their own home while being so well cared for. When we got home, our pups were happy, relaxed, and clearly well loved. Our home was also spotless, and it was obvious they went above and beyond. Trusting someone with both your home and your dogs isn’t easy, but they exceeded every expectation. We are so grateful and will absolutely book with them again. Highly recommend Karalynn!

FAQs for House Sitting - La Center

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in La Center on Rover is $49.95 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 4,314 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across La Center. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred La Center walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in La Center maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in La Center choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in La Center. On Rover:

  • 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
