“Mary house sat for us and took care of our two pitbulls while we were on vacation! The house was in great condition when we got home and she sent photos of the dogs while we were away. I would book with her again!”

“Kylie did an amazing job watching my girls!! She took good care of them and provided me with updates whenever I wanted and checked in with me on her own (including sending photos). She left my house immaculate (especially being here 2 weeks) and she is incredibly kind and thoughtful! I highly recommend her for others looking for a pet sitter and will definitely request her when I need a pet sitter in the future!”

“Extremely appreciative and pleased with Ingrid's house sitting! She promptly responded to all messages, provided reassuring check-ins, and carefully looked after our neurotic (reactive) Mini Aussie.”

“Fanny did a wonderful job house sitting and watching our two fur babies. One of them being a puppy. We will definitely use her again. She followed direction perfectly regarding their care and they seemed to really like her.”

“Lyla did an incredible job! She gave me updates and was flexible with my crazy schedule. Overall she brought a lot of peace while I was out of town. Just knowing that my dog was so well taken care of. Thank you Lyla!”

“We couldn't be happier with our experience with Paul Johnson. He is courteous, thorough, conscientious, and provided us with regular updates on how the pups were doing while we were away. We feel very comfortable with leaving Paul in the care of our doggos in the future.”

“Erica was so lovely, patient, and communicative! We potentially needed a last minute sitter for the weekend, and she was so kind while we waited to confirm that we did in fact need help. Our meet and greet went wonderfully and all of our pets instantly loved her. We came home to a clean house and happy pets. We'll definitely book with her again!”

“Nancy was such a joy to work with. She left the house cleaner than she received it and sent daily photos of the cat and you could tell she truly loves the pets she sits for. I will definitely be using her again.”

About: I grew up taking care of 3 dogs in my own household, all living to ages 11, 10, and 14 years old. I have experience in agility training and have helped my Uncle train Malinois, some who are K9 certified. I have dog and cat sat(including overnight) for neighbors, family, and friends. I have experience training basic tricks to puppies and taking care of them. I have experience with dogs and cats of all ages. I’ve also taken care of bigger animals such as horses! I have free time to hangout and take care of your pet! I am able to stay overnight, check in, and am available every day of the week! I will follow your household instructions and take care of your dog or cat like it is my own, I will make sure to keep them protected and safe.
“Janexis and Zach were wonderful with helping take care of my reactive and anxious pit mix, Minnie. They sent just the right amount of updates, and she looked so happy and at home with each picture! They kept me at ease the entire time. They were also flexible when I needed to extend their care, and left my place cleaner than I left for them! I will definitely use them to care for my pup in the future.”

“Anthea was great from the start! Very detailed and provided instant peace of mind for me. My dog was happy and healthy upon return, and our house was better than we left it!!”

“Salem house sat with our very shy two-year old kitty Sophie for five days over the Thanksgiving holiday. We know how fortunate we were to find such a patient and experienced caregiver. It’s not easy to wait for a scared feline to make the first moves. Sophie did well, and the house was neat and tidy on our return. Thank you so much Salem! We will have you back again soon!”

“Maureen was a total trooper! My house was undergoing construction and she took it in stride. While my kitties were mostly not around, I knew they were in great hands with Maureen. The house was spotless when I returned. The kitties were safe and healthy. I will book with Maureen again!”

“Penny did an amazing job at house sitting our dog and two cats!! She provided updates, took our pup on walks and kept our babies happy 😊 our cat also has an inhaler and she was able to handle no problem! Will be reaching out again, thank you Penny!!”

“Shelby did a wonderful job taking care of our cat, house, and plants. Minka has some chronic health issues that get worse when we travel. We booked Shelby for overnight stays and Minka did really well. Shelby was great at communication, managed all of the medications, was respectful of our house and requests. She kept our plants in good condition despite an unexpected heat wave. She left the house very clean and we’d be happy to book her again.”

“Sylvia was a GODSEND! She was one of the most communicative, responsive, and easy to reach Rover sitters that I have had. Our trip was extended last second due to car troubles, and Sylvia was able to sit them for 2 days longer than originally expected. She was gracious and professional, sent us proactive updates every day, many photos, and was willing to clean up after our older dog that has accidents inside sometimes. It seemed like both of our dogs were very happy to have her around as company during our long vacation. It means the world to have peace of mind when you're far away from home, and I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for their next sitter!”
About: I've looked after cats and dogs since I was 18. I currently own one cat and my Service Dog. I've observed and helped out with different dog trainers in the past. If there is something I am unsure about, I know how to direct you to. I am on disability. I am home most days. If I am out at a dog show or trial, I will either bring everyone with me or not trial. I do have crates, if needed. We could also visit my sister in law and play with her Springer puppy. She does have a nice, big fenced yard. If dogs have a good recall, we can play in the bigger yard but it isn't fenced. I live in an rv, but I have it fenced off. There is a small potty area for the dogs. My dog is friendly with anyone and everyone. He loves other dogs and is always happy to play.
About: Animals have always been a central part of my life. I have raised and cared for dogs of all breeds and sizes for many years including Great Danes and Mastiffs. I am very comfortable with giant breeds, strong personalities, and dogs that require confident, experienced handling but equally as comfortable with smaller/toy breeds as well. In addition to dogs, I have hands on experience caring for cats, chickens, domestic birds, turkeys, tortoises, goats, and ducks. Family and friends have trusted me for years to care for their beloved pets and farm animals while they are away. Whether your pet is high-energy, laid-back, senior, or a giant breed, they will be cared for like one of my own. Your pet will not be left alone for extended periods and will receive regular potty breaks, outdoor time, and attention. We live on a fully fenced spacious 10-acre property designed with dogs in mind. • Three separate fenced dog yards • Shade and protection from the elements • Plenty of room to run and play safely • Splash pools and room to romp and explore Dogs sleep indoors in crates or large kennels with elevated beds to ensure comfort, safety, and proper rest unless other wise requested by owner. Safety, supervision, and structured care are priorities in our home. 🐶 What Sets Me Apart ✔ Experienced with giant and powerful breeds ✔ Comfortable with multi-dog households ✔ Experience with farm animals and exotics ✔ Structured, clean, and safe environment ✔ Large, secure outdoor play areas I understand that leaving your pet can be stressful. My goal is to provide a safe, calm, and enriching environment so you can travel with peace of mind. With 10 fully fenced acres and structured care times your pet will receive consistent exercise, feeding, supervision, and plenty of one-on-one attention as part of our family’s everyday life. 🐾 Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. Pets in my home are supervised, never left unattended outdoors, and enjoy a fully fenced yard for safe play. We have 3 different fully fenced play yards to provide plenty of stretching and play even for those dogs that may not get along with others. I provide structured routines, separate spaces for rest if needed, and slow introductions to ensure everyone feels secure. Clean water, comfortable sleeping areas, and plenty of enrichment and affection are always included. I treat every pet like family and tailor care to their individual needs and temperament. 🐾

Thank you so much for taking such excellent care of our dogs! It was such a relief and peace of mind to know that they were in Sarah‘s excellent hands. It’s clear every time that she comes in the door to take care of them that they absolutely adore her. Nothing can make us happier! Thank you again.

Theresa took great care of our pups, and provided photos and update's during the stay. We appreciate that she made sure each dog was comfortable, while making sure all their needs were met. We will be using Theresa again for any future pet sitting needs.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Cherry Grove walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Cherry Grove maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cherry Grove choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cherry Grove. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
