“Brooke was terrific! She sent us plenty of photos, kept us up-to-date on our diabetic cat and was very comfortable calling or texting with questions (since we hadn't provided all of the answers). She was on time and extremely caring. We'll definitely be hiring her again.”

“Rebecca was punctual and kind. Our dogs told us that she walked them around and they were happy to have her visit. Rebecca sent us pics and updates and we really appreciated her visits.”

About: From caring for geriatric kitties with diet and daily medication needs to taking rambunctious pups through the longest of walks, I have had my fair share of pet-care adventures. I am an old hand at long-term dog and cat-sits and know that part of pet-sitting is getting to know the pet and their personality. I have cared for an anxiety prone pooches, taken pets for doctor and grooming visits, administered oral medication to old cats and gone on many, many long walks with big dogs. I know that each pet needs a specific type of care and am eager to figure out each scenario as it comes to pass. I am a writer and researcher, who is funded by a Fulbright Grant. My schedule is entirely my own and I prefer to write at home–or, simply, not in public spaces–so I am quite available to spend lots of time with pets. I also am a big walker and am always happy to have the excuse to go on extra walk with four-legged pals. I know that each pet will require a specific type and schedule of care. I am great at adapting to diverse needs. Because I live a fairly quiet life and hold a pretty gentle routine (lot's of writing and reading) I have a lot of space in my day to make sure each pet is getting as much attention and exercise as they want. I myself love to get exercise and know how important a consistent diet is–it's not different for our pets, in my opinion!
“Lily was great, and our cat was was much happier having someone to drop by and check on him. He was way more relaxed when we got home than if we had just left him alone for a few days. Excellent!”

“A total cat whisperer! Caroline immediately charmed our high-maintenance boy and gave him all the attention he needed even though his parents weren't around. She's prompt, caring, communicative, and a fantastic person to have on Team Cat.”

“Grace was great! I received photos of her visits and notifications when she arrived and left. She brushed and played with Ollie while here. My worry was assuaged knowing that Ollie was in good hands with Grace. I will definitely reach out to her again.”

“Jenna was totally reliable even when a foot of snow dumped on Brunswick. My cats were obviously well-taken care of but happy to see their cat-mom again. Whole-heartedly recommend Jenna - very pleasant and obviously caring.”

“Corina was absolutely fabulous! I couldn’t ask for a better sitter for our sweet old man. She left the funniest descriptions of her time with Zarco that made me smile and made it a little easier to be away. I couldn’t recommend her more!”

About: Hi! I’m Katie, a lifelong animal lover offering dog walks, drop-in visits, pet check-ins and house sitting for all kinds of animals. I understand how important it is to know your pets are safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. Whether your pet needs a walk, playtime, potty break, feeding, medication, or just some extra attention and companionship, I’m happy to help. I have experience caring for dogs, cats, and other household pets, and I treat every animal as if they were my own. I pride myself on being reliable, communicative, and attentive to each pet’s unique needs. I look forward to meeting you and your furry (or feathered!) family members! As a pet owner myself, I know how much trust it takes to leave your animals in someone else’s care. I have a dog and two cats of my own, so I understand the importance of routine, patience, and lots of love. 🐾 My schedule is very flexible, with availability for pet care most days. I work independently doing sewing and alterations, which allows me to prioritize pet care and accommodate your pet’s individual routine and needs. In my home, pets are treated like family. I ensure they’re safe, supervised, and comfortable, with plenty of love, play, and outdoor time. I respect routines and follow all care instructions closely.
“Super reliable. Goes above and beyond what I expected from a rover sitter. Took lots of great picture of the dogs on thier walk. Would recommend and will hire again.”

About: I’ve always been around dogs large and smalle large (grate Danes). Love all dogs. Will work with people if paying will be an issue. Just message me in advance! I can work with you in the early morning or in the late afternoon for them. My work schedule is set and dose not change. I have 2 of my own pets esa certified. I have advanced first aid training and love to take them on long walks if they need it!

“Amy was fantastic with our dogs Guin and Lenny over two visits. She was communicative and thorough every time, sending photos and detailed updates after each drop-in so we always knew how the pups were doing. She took the time to build trust with Lenny, who’s a bit shy at first, and made real progress with him over just two visits — he was scooting closer and taking treats from her hand by the second day. She followed our instructions closely and even handled pee/poop tracking and yard time exactly as we asked. Highly recommend her — will definitely book her again!”

“We love having Craig & Chelsea come take care of our kitties whenever we’re away for a trip. They are so thoughtful and thorough and do such a great job. We know our cats are in great hands with them while we are away.”

About: I've taken care of animals since I was young, often a family friend and now often my own friends! I am open to all animals, any age, any kind. I know how stressed animals can get when their people are away, and I believe in providing a temporary replacement that is as near to their normal as possible. I'm not currently working, so I am mostly free throughout each week! I am able to come and go at any time in the day as well! Safety and trust are my top priority with every pet I care for. For house sitting, I stay in your home to keep your pet’s routine as normal as possible like sticking closely to their usual feeding, medication, and bathroom schedule, keeping doors and gates secure, and making sure the home stays safe and undisturbed while you’re away. Pets tend to feel calmer staying in their own space, and I’m there to give them company and attention throughout. For drop-in visits, I do a quick walkthrough on arrival to make sure everything is as it should be, follow your instructions exactly for feeding, litter box or bathroom needs, and always double check doors and gates are secure before I leave. For walks, dogs stay leashed at all times unless you’ve told me otherwise and I’ve confirmed the area is safe, and I stay alert to traffic, other animals, and weather conditions. For cats, I’m mindful of their comfort level and never force interaction or handling they’re not used to. Across all services, I send photo and text updates so you always know how your pet is doing, and I keep emergency contacts (you and your vet) on hand just in case!
“Maricela was the perfect sitter for our cats! We felt so much better knowing our cats had someone coming and checking in on them every day. Will definitely rebook in the future!”

About: I am recently retired and am just starting out with the Rover. com work platform. My ideal work will involve helping families care for their pets when they can't be there to care for them themselves. I have been in this position with my pets several times and know how stressful it can be to trust somebody that you don’t know to care for your dog or cat family member. I have always had dogs and cats as part of my family, including special needs pets. I currently have one dog with special needs (IVDD and reactivity.) I would be happy to talk with you to see if I can meet the needs of you and your pet. Because I am retired I am fairly flexible with my schedule. However, due to my own pet , I am not available for overnight care or boarding. In addition, I travel a fair amount. So, I am best suited for occasional/one time/short term or fill-in type jobs. I currently have a dog who has physical limitations and reactivity. Because of this, I am unable to board a dog or cat in my home. I am also not available to overnight pet sit in your home.
“This was our first time leaving our cat and we were gone for over 8 days. Stephanie gave daily reports, uploaded photos, and let us know about any concerns. She even offered a spare water fountain for our cat when she diligently noticed he wasn’t drinking a lot of water. He’s happy we are home now, but makes me feel better we now have a great cat sitter for our next trip.”

Brooke is awesome and she took the best care of our dog Bear. I would highly recommend her and if we are ever in Brooke’s service area, I will definitely hire her again with no hesitation. My mind was at ease when we were away from our vacation rental as I knew Bear was in good hands. Brooke is responsible, gentle and the most kindest!

Brooke was such a pleasure to work with -- reliable and responsible. We were so appreciative of her help in spending time with and walking our dog while we were out for the day. We can comfortably recommend Brooke. It's such a nice thing to know that our dog was in good hands!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
