About: I am recently retired and am just starting out with the Rover. com work platform. My ideal work will involve helping families care for their pets when they can't be there to care for them themselves. I have been in this position with my pets several times and know how stressful it can be to trust somebody that you don’t know to care for your dog or cat family member. I have always had dogs and cats as part of my family, including special needs pets. I currently have one dog with special needs (IVDD and reactivity.) I would be happy to talk with you to see if I can meet the needs of you and your pet. Because I am retired I am fairly flexible with my schedule. However, due to my own pet , I am not available for overnight care or boarding. In addition, I travel a fair amount. So, I am best suited for occasional/one time/short term or fill-in type jobs. I currently have a dog who has physical limitations and reactivity. Because of this, I am unable to board a dog or cat in my home. I am also not available to overnight pet sit in your home.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats of family and friends since I was in my teens, but more extensively in college and since. For 3 years I boarded and sat for three different family friends. I’ve personally helped raise 3 dogs and 2 cats. I’ve even helped herd sheep and tamed alpacas! I work nearly full-time as a server at a restaurant, so Wednesday to Saturday night I’m unavailable for somewhere between 6-9 hours on those days. When I have my off days I’m usually at home or out for a walk. I’m usually efficient with my errands and have extensive free time on off days. My apartment is a one bedroom, so if I’m not playing around the apartment with the pet, I’d want to bring them on a walk or to the park. I have a very comfortable bedroom conducive to nap time, and I live in the heart of Old Port. Whenever I am with pets in my house I am always looking to set up a cozy space for them to relax with blankets, pillows, their favorite toys. I try to make them feel like a proper guest in my home like anyone else. My apartment is always very quiet despite being downtown, but I would hope to find activities we could do in and around Portland to help keep them active and entertained.

She took some very sweet photos of Gunnar and told me all about their activities, so I knew he was having as good a day as he could have, being alone except for her two visits. This was our first time leaving our cat and we were gone for over 8 days. Stephanie gave daily reports, uploaded photos, and let us know about any concerns. She even offered a spare water fountain for our cat when she diligently noticed he wasn’t drinking a lot of water. This was our first booking with Craig & Chelsea, and it was an excellent experience. Finding care for our senior diabetic cat can be difficult. They are experienced with insulin injections and glucose monitoring, and knew the signs of danger to watch for. They are also very thorough and reliable in their communication, and most importantly, treated our cat with so much care. It was a such a relief to know he was in kind and capable hands!
Danielle is timely, provides great communication, and is great with my cats. She was even able to approach my very fearful cat on her second visit and give him a little chin rub. Both times Danielle has taken care of our cats, they’ve acted like it was no big deal that we were gone, when we returned. That’s the best.
