“Andrea is a gem. She is communicative, respectful, and left our home in excellent condition. My cats are everything to me and she took wonderful care of them while I was out of town for my birthday. She also left me a sweet card and note with an update. Will definitely book with her again.”

“Thank you so much for caring for Pliny. You went above and beyond. Thanks for walking her and playing with her, and helping her feel comfy while we were gone. And the special gift of framed pics was really sweet!”

About: I have many years of volunteering at an animal shelter and my main job was to train, and social many of the new dogs they would be in. As well as my entire life my family has always had pets growing up. I am currently working full time at a dental office however I have a set schedule. I am a person that likes to be extremely organized and plan my days accordingly along with my own pets needs as well as caring for the needs of other pets. I am very flexible when it comes to changing spaces. So whatever particular care your pet needs won’t be a problem. I can follow clear directions as well if there’s anything specific to your pet needs.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter than Jaime! She watched our fur baby Loki for a couple of nights and did an amazing job. She kept us updated with pictures and messages, which really put our minds at ease while we were away. Loki absolutely loved her, and it was clear she treated him like one of her own. We’ll definitely be booking with Jaime again — highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy sitter! 🐾💛”

“We appreciate knowing that during the crazy heatwave while we had to be away, our entire furry family was safe and comfortable at home with Denise’s care. House and doggos/cat were just as happy as they were when we left. Thank you!”
“Coralee was absolutely incredible. She was very communicative and sent beautiful pictures. She really understood my sensitive baby, and he warmed up quickly to her and clearly felt comfortable and safe. Coralee also was patient and responsive when our travel plans got disrupted, and kept my baby company much later than we originally planned. I very highly recommend her.”

I actively care for my neighbors dog and cats whenever they are away on vacation throughout the year. I am reliable, attentive and compassionate about animals.
About: I’ve cared for animals my entire life — from barnyard pets to beloved family cats and dogs — and I understand how much trust it takes to leave your furry family member with someone new. As a proud pet parent to a playful Frenchie and a sweet rescue cat, I know firsthand the love, patience, and consistency pets need to feel safe and happy. I’m currently taking a break from the corporate world, which means your pet gets my full attention, a flexible schedule, and prompt communication. Whether it’s walks, cuddles, or special-care routines, I treat every animal as if they were my own. One of my favorite parts of pet sitting is capturing their personality with photo and video updates so you can see how much fun they’re having. Your peace of mind — and your pet’s comfort and well-being — are always my top priorities. I look forward to meeting you and your furry companion soon! About: We do our very best for your pups! We provide pick up and drop off to help with the convenience for you and your pup. I usually prefer to come and do a meet and greet beforehand, so you and the pup can get to know me. I love to see your pup in their natural habitat, so I know what to expect. A little bit about our place, we are completely off grid with solar and a wind turbine for power! We give our pups well water. The water is very high in natural minerals and has Magnesium, which helps keep us and our pups very mellow/calm during their stay. We are up 4000ft in elevation and up here we get SNOW in the winter, which makes for great pics. We have been working with dogs for 10+ years. We accommodate all different types of pups from Tea-cups to Malamutes. (2-100+lbs) we’ve done it all. We try very hard to accommodate you and are willing to go the extra mile to make everything go smoothly. We do ask you give us their food for them. It’s very important to us that your dog remains safe and secure at all times. The more information you can tell us about your pup the better! We do have AirTags/Drones and other toys if they have issues with trying to escape. Your pup will get an experience up here that they can’t get anywhere else. We treat them like family, because to us they are! They will see all different types of animals from birds to tons of squirrels, rabbits and’s quails. They might even get to see cattle/horses at the bottom of the hill. They will never be able to interact with any of them. We send pictures/videos normally everyday. We do send updates everyday!!! Please, feel free to txt or call me anytime if you have any questions. We hope to see you and your pup very soon!!!😊🍀🙏🐾 We are up and about at 6-7am. Everyone heads out for the bathroom and stretch. I get my coffee and start preparing food. Everyone gets fed separately or in their kennels. Then, around 8am we go on our first hike. Usually between 30/60 min. Then after their first hike they get to either come inside the main house or hang out in the play area. Around noon we play some games, work on training techniques, or play mind games where they work on their smell or obedience. Depending on the weather we go for another pack walk. Time again varies between 4-7pm. Then DINNER TIME!!! That usually also consists of me firing up the BBQ and give them a little bit of what we’re eating. After dinner we give them a few hours to digestion and poop and pee and then everyone gets their nice warm blanket for bed around 9pm. We do vary in our days if it’s hot I pull out the pool and fill it up. If it’s cold and snowing we pull out the heaters and snuggle on our bed and watch a movie. To be honest I have the best job ever! All of the dogs I’ve ever met have a personality of their own. They usually take after their owner lol. I’m constantly surrounded by my dogs, stimulating them with something, music or movies, podcasts. When your dog comes up here we treat them just like they were our own.
About: I have been working with pets for about 5 years. Started in high school and now in my adult life. I also haves worked at a pet hotel for about 3 years where I was trained to handle all breeds and types of dogs and cats. Very flexible! I am a college student so any time I am not working on school I am free and available to look after your fur baby! I first and foremost respect all rules and boundaries of your home. Safety is the #1 priority when I’m handling any pet. I want pet parents to feel as comfortable as possible, I handle any fur baby how I would take care of my own.

About: Hi, I’m Jonathan! I’ve been around dogs most of my life, growing up with four family dogs and helping care for them daily. I’ve also looked after pets for family members, including feeding, walks, playtime, and companionship. I don’t have a pet right now but miss having a dog around so joined Rover! I work from home so your pet will have a lot of attention. I have experience taking care of anxious dogs and grew up with rescues, and committed to following your pet’s routine and care instructions. I’ll keep you updated with messages and photos so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. I look forward to meeting you and your pets! I work from home and have flexibility for routine dog walks and drop-in house visits. I also can do house sitting for an extended period if given advanced notice to schedule. I grew up with rescue dogs and understand their home is their space so I would want to follow their owner's guidelines and if there are any special spaces to pay attention to. I know it can be stressful having a new person boarding and taking care of their pet so I aim to care for their home as I would mine and leave it exactly how it was before I arrived.
“A great experience! Using our cat manual, Alison made sure our two cats stayed on their normal routine. She followed instructions and gave us the best photo updates. Alison was very attentive to our cats' needs and kept our home spotless. We appreciated the thoughtful care she put into her stay and will definitely rebook her again.”

“Grace is awesome! She took such good care of our two dogs and was clean and respectful of our home. I did not have to worry about my fur babies while we were traveling which was such a sigh of relief. Grace is very communicative and it helps that she’s a dog owner herself, so she is experienced and knowledgeable. We will definitely hire Grace again!”

I’m a college athlete with a busy academic and training schedule, so I’m available to care for your pets on weekends, Mondays, and Fridays. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, I have class from 12 to 4 p.m., but I’m flexible outside of those hours. My love for dogs and years of pet care experience means your dogs will get top-notch attention and care! I understand how important your home and pet’s safety are, and I take that very seriously. I will always respect your home by following your guidelines, keeping spaces clean, and ensuring your pet has a calm, secure environment. I value responsibility and honesty. “Kiana stayed at our home for nine days to watch our dog, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. It was a long time for us to be away, especially from a pup with separation anxiety and health issues that require medication multiple times a day, so we needed someone truly exceptional. Kiana was even better than that! She is incredibly detail oriented and follows every instruction with care. Our house was clean and well looked after. But what really sets Kiana apart is how deeply she cares. Knowing our dog struggles with new people and stressful transitions, she not only came for an initial meet and greet but proactively offered to visit again so he could feel completely comfortable before the long stay. Throughout her time with him, she sent photos and updates that showed just how relaxed and happy he was. He was genuinely loved and perfectly cared for, and honestly, I think he is bummed now that she is gone! We will absolutely be requesting Kiana’s help again. Highly recommend!”

I understand how important peace of mind is when leaving your pet with someone, and I’ll always keep you updated so you feel confident they’re in good hands! My availability is very flexible! I’m available Monday through Friday after 2 PM, and I’m open anytime on Saturdays and Sundays. During the summer months, especially June and July, my schedule is even more open, allowing for greater flexibility to care for your pets whenever needed. I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for whether they’re in my home or their own. I follow each pet’s usual routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications if needed, and plenty of attention and affection. I keep a clean, calm, and pet-friendly environment, and I always make safety a priority by supervising pets closely, securing doors and gates, and making sure they feel relaxed and stress-free. “Jamie took great care of my dog and made me feel comfortable while I was away. She was reliable, attentive, kind, patient, and very sweet with him. My dog seemed happy and well cared for, and it gave me peace of mind knowing he was in good hands. I would absolutely book with her again and recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter.”
About: Before being a dog mom I pet sat for family friends when they went on vacation. I met Chocolate 6 years ago while I was in Colombia, when he was 2.5 years old. He was sadly abused by his previous owner and when I got him he was very shy and not yet potty trained. I trained him myself and now Chocolate has regained his trust in humans entirely. In fact, his favorite thing to do when we go to the dog park every evening is to beg all the rest of the dog parents for pets. If you choose me to be your pet sitter, your dog can accompany Chocolate and I on our daily morning walks, hikes that we go on twice a week and daily evening trips to the dog park. Additionally, with your permission, your dog can enjoy some of the organic home cooked food I make for Choco. I cook fresh food every 3 days and vary the ingredients each time. I use the following ground meats: goat, venison, lamb mixed with cod fish, turkey and chicken breast. I use a variation of the following vegetables: broccoli, spinach, carrots, cabbage, pumpkin, butternut squash, sweet potato and kale. I cook this in bone broth and mix this with one of the following: lentils, chickpeas or rice. Lastly, due to my experience of taking care of my brother's senior dog, who I used to live with I can offer helpful advice, that will make your senior dog's golden years more pleasant. For example, I recommended my brother to by his dog Titus a raised dog bowl to help with his mobility issues while eating. The raised dog bowl prevents Titus from losing his balance, when lowering his head to eat, while the rubber mat prevent his paws from slipping. If you choose me as your pet sitter your dog will receive lots of love and care that warms their hearts, home cooked meals to maintain their taste buds and bellies happy and lots of excercise to prevent separation anxiety, that will make them feel like my home is their home away from home. Choco and I look forward to meeting you and your pup! I am currently home full time for the next 5 months while I recover from a shoulder injury, so I would be with your pet the entire day and night except for when I go to my physical therapy, accupuncture and doctor's appointments. I cook fresh food every 3 days for Choco and walk him in every morning and enjoys the dog park every afternoon. I have a fenced yard and only live with my dog and father. My dog is extremely friendly with all dogs and loves to play.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 2,115 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Ashrama. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Ashrama walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Ashrama maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ashrama choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
