“Thank you so much, Ru, for taking such great care of Mochi! She had an amazing time and it’s clear she received so much love and attention while staying with you. I truly appreciate it—you made me feel completely at ease leaving Mochi in your care. I would absolutely trust you with her again in the future!”

“Rachel and her husband are amazing! They are welcoming and you can tell they really LOVE fur babies! They took photos and kept me in the loop on how my pup was engaging with their dogs. My pup had a fun time and he was definitely tuckered out from the playtime. I will definitely book with them again! A+^”

About: I’ve been a true dog-and-cat person since junior high. Growing up, I was basically the “head zookeeper” of our home (2 dogs, 2 cats!), so I’m comfortable with all kinds of personalities, energy levels, and quirks. Now, as a full-time WFH professional based in San Jose, I’m home all day—meaning your pup gets constant attention, care, and companionship. I don’t just watch dogs—I treat them like family from the moment they walk through the door. ❤️ The "SJC Convenience" 🛫 Traveling soon? I’m located in San Jose, just about 20 minutes from San Jose Mineta International Airport, making drop-off easy and convenient on your way to the airport.I’m also happy to accommodate last-minute bookings and unexpected travel plans—if your trip comes up suddenly, you can count on me for reliable care. This is your dog’s second home ❤️ - Total Supervison: I’m home 24/7. No lonely pups here! 🏠 - Built-in Bestie: Our friendly Cockapoo puppy is always down to play. 🐩 - Same-Day Ready: Urgent daycare or emergency boarding? No problem. ⚡ - Photo Updates: I’ll send plenty of pics so you can relax on your trip. 📸 I have a remote job, so your dog will have 24/5 companionship and supervision during the week. I offer boarding Monday through Friday and are always open for last-minute or same-day bookings for those urgent needs. I also provide walking services when I don’t have pups boarding at home. While I focus on weekdays, I’m happy to discuss weekend care for my regular, returning clients! Safety is my top priority, and since I’m home full-time, I’m always there to keep a close eye on everyone. I have a friendly young Cockapoo in our apartment, but I’m very careful about how dogs interact. If your pup is a bit shy or just isn't in the mood to meet our puppy, I can easily give them their own dedicated room to relax in so they feel completely comfortable and at ease. I’m also happy to follow whatever routine your dog is used to at home. If you prefer they be crated for naps or bedtime, I can definitely make that happen. Whether they are playing with our pup or enjoying some quiet time, they’ll be treated like a member of our family the whole time they are here.

About: I have been taking care of pets for over six years. I have cared for fish, cats, and dogs. I have a big dog myself so large dogs do not scare me. I am great with animals and am more than willing to do house sitting, day time check ins, walking, bathing, etc.! I am about to graduate from school so I will be home all the time and will be able to stop by for house visits or to hang out with pets all day. Though for things like walking dogs would prefer to do that in the morning in order to beat the heat! I have a large fenced in yard with one dog to keep others company. My dog is crate trained and is non aggressive. In the house there is no chemicals or other harmful substances that pets could access. Additionally most cabinets and such are baby proofed so cats or other small pets would not be able to get in or trapped.
“Mini was a wonderful host. She took really good care of Bentley and he was always happy to see her. She took care of him like family, and he definitely had a wonderful time in her care ❤️”

“Diana is awesome! Our dog had a great time and felt that we set up the right foundation before day care during our meet and greet to confirm that everyone was a good fit.”

“Feng made our shy pup Toby feel comfortable right away! She gave him lots of cuddles and treats, making him feel right at home. I will book again with Feng in the future!”

“Melissa and Tommy took wonderful care of my pups. They made me feel at ease with updates and photos throughout the day. Appreciate them for taking such good care of my dogs and accommodating my schedule. Highly recommend!”

“Lady is a small needy sweet dog and she gets sad when left alone. Jen and her family are absolutely the best, and Lady feels right at home. I get great updates from Jen throughout the day and I know she is well taken care of and she has fun. I'm so glad I found Jen, thanks to her care I can work without worrying about Lady being home alone.”

“Stasha was absolutely wonderful with our dogs, Elora and Jasper. We had a big party to host, and knowing they were in her care gave us so much peace of mind. It honestly allowed us to enjoy the day instead of worrying about the pups. From the start, Stasha was warm, communicative, and incredibly reassuring. She sent us updates and photos throughout the day, which meant so much and made it clear our pups were happy and in great hands. You can tell she genuinely loves dogs and treats them with so much care and attention. Elora and Jasper came home happy, relaxed, and well cared for, which says everything. We felt completely safe trusting Stasha with them, and that kind of trust is huge. If you’re looking for someone reliable, kind, and truly invested in caring for your dogs, I cannot recommend Stasha enough. She made it possible for us to host our party without a single worry, and that was priceless. We would absolutely book with her again in a heartbeat. 🐾”

“Soojin was fantastic with my Suki girl for daycare! She sent lots of adorable photos and updates throughout the day, answered all of my questions, and made drop-off and pick-up incredibly easy. I felt completely at ease knowing Suki was in such great hands. My pup came home happy, tired, and content, which is always the best sign. I’m so grateful to have found Soojin and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter. Thank you, Soojin!”

About: Hi, I’m a lifelong pet lover and proud dog parent to an amazing mixed-breed pup! Most recently, I have been fostering pups of all sizes and ages with the Humane Society in my area. I’ve been around animals my whole life and know just how important it is to find someone you can trust with your furry family member. When your dog stays with me, they’re treated like part of the family. I offer a safe, calm, and pet-friendly home with people (and a pup!) who truly enjoy the company of animals. Whether it’s a walk around the neighborhood, some playtime, or a cozy overnight stay, I aim to make your pet feel at ease and cared for. I am available full time to work with your schedule. My commitments are brief and I can flex around the needs of the pets in my care. I have a multi story home with lvp flooring that is very pet friendly. Your fur baby will have to climb 8 stairs (or I can assist them) to get to the main floor which is where we will hang out. I also have an enclosed patio, but most of our outdoor time will be outside at the park right next to my home.

About: I can accommodate boarding one dog at a time so your dog will get undivided love and attention. From being terrified as a child to now falling in love with every dog - it’s been a journey. I am big on recognizing that dogs are complex beings and have complex needs. With that in mind, I think of them as more than cuddle buddies. While I’ll never say no to dog love, I also understand that they need space and room to just be. I’ve dog sat in my neighborhood and I prioritize their meals, walks, and need for activity and interaction. I have also fostered dogs and understand that dogs come from a variety of different past experiences and require environments that fit their needs - I am very flexible in accommodating that. I currently work from home so there is plenty of flexibility in my schedule. I like to understand the pet's routine and do my best to minimize disruptions - that means helping them adhere to their walk, food, and rest times. I love playing with dogs so I prioritize that time. My home is well maintained and clean, pets will have full access to the large open concept living room & kitchen - this is where I spend majority of my waking hours as well. No other pets and no kids in the house so your dog will have a lot of quiet, peaceful time. I live in a very dog friendly neighborhood with lots of green spaces. Lots of opportunities to go on nice walks and socialize with other dogs. I think of dog walks as "their time" so they get ample time to explore and sniff.
“Our dog was a bit separation anxiety when we moved to the area one month ago. But he has been super happy at Pissamas’ place and I could go to work without worrying about him. I am very grateful for the care help! 🙏”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of June 2026, there are 1,503 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Ashrama. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Ashrama commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 1,503 sitters in Ashrama, 89% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
