About: Can’t wait to hang out with your pet. I’ll always make sure they have fun with me. I’d love dogs but I think it’s a big step and prefer to be a sitter for now It fits in because I have a lot of free time and I’d love to spend time with animals ! Also I really love that I can get out and exercise and I am adding that to my daily routine Making sure my home or clean and free of any harm to animals or any one really. I live near the beach. So it’s perfect for a walk and there is a dog park nearby

“Hannah was such a delight to work with! She went above and beyond in caring for my pup and my home. I came home to a happy dog! Thanks so much Hannah, Betsy can’t wait to hang with you again!”

“Sarah saved the day! Actually 2 days ... and now, she's my go-to for daily care for my babes. We're currently in an Inn at Pismo Beach while our furniture is in transit and in the meantime I had to start my new position so leaving them in a strange place was a no-no. I found Sarah last minute and from the very first 10 minutes, I knew she was safe, kind, and very capable of managing not one, but 2 (one being 85 lbs)! They loved her from the first minute they met her! Look no further. She's the one.”

“Shelby did a wonderful job during the drop-in visit with Cooper! Every instruction was followed carefully, and it was clear that a lot of attention and care went into making sure Cooper felt comfortable and happy. Shelby was both professional and incredibly kind, creating such a positive experience from start to finish. It’s such a relief knowing Cooper is in such loving and capable hands. Highly recommend!”

“Riley checked in on our 4 cats while we were in holiday for 1.5 weeks. She was AWESOME! So attentive to our cats and their needs/environment, very communicative (we loved and appreciated her updates and Photos) and was very kind. We felt that our kitties were in wonderful hands. Would highly recommend!”

“Kayla was great with my cat, Otto! He’s a bit nervous with new people but she was very patient and understanding with him. It was my longest trip away from Otto but she gave me regular updates for every visit and answered any questions I had while I was out. It was good to know my boy was well taken care of so I’ll be booking with Kayla again in the future!”

I am a college student home for break and I am completely open whenever you would need me and I have two dogs of my own. I currently have two pitties and a snake who I take care of. About: I have always pet and house sat for neighbors, family friends, my family. I am a home body and enjoy watching over and protecting people's homes and beloved animals while they are away. I am always apprehensive leaving my pets alone with a stranger, that is why I strive to make people feel safe and comfortable. I have always been an animal person and have done pet-sitting as a favor to people. I figured, now as a nineteen year old, why not make it a nice little side hustle to earn some extra money for college. I live in Solvang California and I work a part time job on the weekdays. Other than that I can walk dogs, do drop in visits and I can stay in your house to watch over your animals. Each pet is unique, I appreciate when owners walk me through their routine, leave notes and emergency contact info, if anything were to happen. I want to make both the animals and owners comfortable, and like everyone to be on the same page. Communication is very valuable.

“Aline was fantastic! She was easy to communicate with and was willing to work with Finn's training commands. Finn is reactive towards dogs but I felt at ease with Aline walking him! Will definitely be booking for future walks!”

About: Not only have I had dogs and cats as family members for the last 40 years, I've taken care of friends and family's dogs and cats. I was blessed to have Max for 17 years, a gentle boy who was blind and deaf in his senior years. If your pet has special needs I am confident I can give them the proper care needed. I currently have 2 dogs, a poodle pup who is an adorable and fun little rascal and a sweet terrior mix who is my walking buddy. They will be cared for at home by my husband if I'm taking care of your pet. I'm very active and happy to be retired. I love spending time walking my dogs and being with the 24/7 which of course is not possible when you're working or traveling. I understand how important your best friend is in good hands while you're at work or away and I'll be available to walk your dog as needed. My drop by visits include feeding, fresh water, potty and exercise breaks. I'll follow your instructions and "house rules" as requested. If your dog or cat has special needs or requires medication they are in good hands. If your dog likes to take long walks or fetch a ball at the dog park I'm in!
About: I’ve had dogs and cat for the last 7-8 years. They have been so good to us and we’ve enjoyed them more than I imagined. I have a business that I’ve owned for seven years and I’m able to make my own schedule. Also, my homeschooled kids are home and willing to help if I ever need it. I have done 20+ years of babysitting and childcare in my home and other peoples homes. Plus, I’ve had clients that I have worked for and have trusted me with their keys to their home for seven years.
“We booked Jo to cat sit our one cat for a little more than a week. It was our first time having a cat sitter, and Jo was outstanding the whole duration. We had well written updates every visit with multiple pictures of our girl. Jo has a great eye for detail and diligently tended to our cat's needs. Jo was greatly accommodating and even left her a couple of well appreciated goodbye gifts. We were confident from Day 1 and the whole way through that we were in good hands. We'll be looking into Jo's availability the next time we need a cat sitter.”

This was my first time using Rover, and my first time using Loren. I was so nervous.! but she made me feel so comfortable and took great care of my girls (I have two ginger cats). I can’t say enough good things about her and I will definitely use her again. Thank you so much, Loren! 🥰

Our first time having Sarah watch our 2 cats. It was a great experience. She is professional, follows directions and is conscientious. We received detailed notes from her visits w pictures of our cats and the tasks that she took care of. Thank you. We will definitely be repeat customers.

Riley checked in on our 4 cats while we were in holiday for 1.5 weeks. She was AWESOME! So attentive to our cats and their needs/environment, very communicative (we loved and appreciated her updates and Photos) and was very kind. We felt that our kitties were in wonderful hands. Shelby did an outstanding job and I would definitely book again. Communication was great, lots of photos with a detailed breakdown of the visit. Took lots of notes during the initial meet and greet. Punctual with all visits. I felt no stress at work with my pets care. My dog and cat both seemed to love their company! Would definitely re-book.

I am so, so thankful I found Elora to care for my dog. She saved me when I was in a pinch and agreed to a last-minute request. She even met us the night before for a meet-and-greet. Her communication is excellent. I felt completely comfortable leaving my dog in her hands. She sent me pics and updates during my vacation, and my dog was happy and relaxed when I got home. I will absolutely be using her services again. Thank you, Elora!!!
We found Madison to be conscientious, on time and very caring towards our kitty. Her communication was excellent and we were very happy with the service. We feel better planning future trips knowing we have someone to take care of a special member of the family!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
