Shelby did a wonderful job during the drop-in visit with Cooper! Every instruction was followed carefully, and it was clear that a lot of attention and care went into making sure Cooper felt comfortable and happy. Shelby was both professional and incredibly kind, creating such a positive experience from start to finish. It’s such a relief knowing Cooper is in such loving and capable hands. Highly recommend!

About: Hi! My name is Kelsy. I am a traveling CT Technologist, I move frequently for work (typically every 6 months), which has made it difficult for me to have pets of my own in this season of life. Pet sitting and dog walking gives me the opportunity to spend time caring for other people's companions until I'm able to settle down with pets of my own. For the past seven years, I have helped care for my sister's cat, including feeding, companionship, and making sure all of her daily needs are met. I also have experience with dog walking, dog sitting, cat sitting, brushing and grooming, feeding, and providing lots of attention and affection. While I don't have formal training experience, I am comfortable following detailed care instructions and maintaining your pet's normal routine to help them feel safe, comfortable, and happy while you're away. I began dog walking professionally about six months ago and since then I have cared for dogs of various sizes and energy levels. I'm very active and enjoy walking, hiking, and spending time at the beach or the mountains, so I'm happy to keep up with energetic dogs who love getting outside. I also have experience with senior pups who need shorter walks and extra cuddles. I pride myself on being reliable, responsible, and communicative. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, so I will always follow your instructions carefully and keep you updated with messages, photos, and check-ins so you can have peace of mind while you're away. I am starting a new contract in Santa Maria on June 15th. My schedule is completely open for the next two weeks, but once my contract begins, I will generally be available after 5:00 PM on weekdays, with additional availability depending on my schedule. I understand that pets are family, and I will treat your furry family members with the same care, patience, and attention that I would give my own. I look forward to meeting you and your pets! Currently my schedule is open. Starting June 15th I will be available after 5pm on weekdays. Most weekends I will be available at any time of the day. As a traveling medical professional, I am currently unable to offer pet care in my own rental. All of my services are provided in my clients' homes, where pets can remain comfortable in their familiar environment and maintain their normal routines. I believe consistency is important for pets, so I take the time to learn each pet's schedule, preferences, and any special instructions. Whether it's feeding schedules, exercise needs, medications, favorite toys, or bedtime routines, I strive to provide care that feels as close to normal as possible while you're away.

About: I’ve been around and cared for pets my entire life! I have two dogs of my own, Louie, a Cockapoo, and Tanner, a Chihuahua, as well as a guinea pig. I’m a huge animal lover and definitely the person who has to stop and pet every dog I meet! I have experience caring for dogs of all ages and sizes, from energetic puppies to senior dogs who need a little extra patience and attention. I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your pets, and I’ll always treat yours with the same love and care I give my own. I am currently working part time and being trained to be a Behavioral Health Technician, which is online, so I have the whole day to attend to your dog! Once I begin seeing clients, I am free 4 days of the week, but I will still have mornings and afternoons open. I live in a spacious apartment with a great, walkable outdoor area perfect for plenty of walks and fresh air! I’m happy to crate dogs if needed and will always follow your pet’s usual routine, feeding schedule, and any special instructions you provide. I can also care for your pet in the comfort of their own home if that’s where they feel safest. I’ll make sure your pet gets plenty of attention and is always in a safe, comfortable, and loving environment. My dogs do not live with me at my apartment, so if your pup isn't friendly that's perfectly fine!

About: I’ve cared for my own dogs and cats for over 30 years and have also fostered kittens for the animal shelter that I later adopted. I am a substitute teacher during the regular school year and am otherwise a DoorDash driver. I would work my schedule around what you need. My cats stay indoors and my 2 dogs love hanging out on our front enclosed porch or lounging inside. They all get along quite well.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs of all kinds from my personal dogs to animal shelter dogs for about 6 years. At the animal shelter I volunteered for both Orcutt and Santa Maria and I was there for about 2 years. I now work at the Santa Barbara Humane where I handle several different temperaments of animals and about to hit my 2 years working there. I’m currently working 4 10’s where i get 3 days of to enjoy the day with your babies. On the days that i do work i’m able to do drop ins during my lunch and after work at around 6. For the meantime im only doing in your home services due to my living situation but hopefully when i get my own place i can secure that your pets will be safe with me.

About: I have been caring for other's fur babies for the past 3 year. I have always had a cat in my house since I was 8 years old. I got my first dog when I moved out on my own. At one point in time my husband and I had 7 dogs and 3 cats all of which were rescue's. Currently I only have one cat. I would very much like to get another dog and will someday, I am not emotionally ready just yet. I am very content with the love and kisses from my client's fur babies. I also have experience giving insulin injections to both cats and dogs and IV fluids for one of my cats who died of kidney disease. I am available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. I am available to drop in for bathroom breaks, play dates and dog walks. I try to keep their days as normal for them as possible. I currently am not offering boarding services at my home. I live in a senior mobile home park which does not allow me to provide boarding services.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Nipomo stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Nipomo. On Rover:

  • 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 92% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
