“Lajetta was a great dog sitter for our doodles! She kept us updated throughout the day with pictures & we could tell the doodles were being loved, cared for & comfortable.”

“Another wonderful visit at Dawn's house. She has so much fun with Dawn's daughter and their two dogs. It's a mini vacation for Maggie when she is with them. Couldn't find a better place for her when we are away.”

“Storm takes a bit of time to get comfortable in new environments with new people, but she seemed to settle in easily with Gil and Peaches! We are so thankful they are patient with her separation anxiety and welcome her on daycare days!”

“Wonderful, wonderful dog sitter! She was incredibly kind to my dog! Her two dogs were adorable and were great for nervous, first time in someone else’s home dogs (my dog). She took them on frequent walks, communicative about eating, treats, potty, and nap time and sent many pictures. I’d recommend her to anyone with small-medium dogs that need somewhere to go either sitting or boarding. One issue I faced which wasn’t a huge deal, was in the middle of my reservation the rate of sitting increased to almost double the initial rate I paid for. My intial booking was 15/day and I asked for one more day of sitting, and the entire reservation was modified to 25/day. It caught me off guard since it was the middle of the week and I was caught off guard with the new price. The service was worth the new rate, just wanted transparency there.”

“Tyson had the best day! Heath is kind, friendly and natural with dogs. They were very easy to schedule with and great communication. Tyson can’t wait to come back.”

“For our pup’s first doggy day care, Bryan took good care of him and helped out on short notice. He’s friendly, on time, and gave a full report on drop off. Will definitely book again.”

“First time trying Alex as a sitter and it went great! She made our shy, nervous dog feel right at home in her space and sent lots of photos. We’ll definitely book with her again in future.”

“Bisghetti loves Allen's daycare. We moved to CA and we are so sad he had his final daycare stay with Allen. It was a great experience and our little gremlin always had the best time. Would definitely recommend!”

“Sofía was wonderful with Theo - in the end he didn’t want to leave her! She was very patient with Theo’s anxiety, and was very attentive with my little guy. We appreciate your care!”

About: (Please read my whole profile to make sure we are a good match! If you decide to request a booking, please provide the requested information about your dog, either on your Rover site or in your inquiry. Note: I provide the walk-only service exclusively in the Kenton neighborhood. Thank you!) I have owned dogs most of my life and spent my adolescence on a small family farm. I love dogsitting and live really near North Portland VCA should there ever be an emergency. If your dog is a good leash walker, they'll get at least two walks per day; otherwise, we'll see how it goes! There is opportunity for backyard play, but I depend on walking to ensure dogs get the movement they need. There are no pets in my house at this time, so as long as your dog gets along with people, the relationships should be OK! No chewers, please; I do not close crate doors. I am a retired teacher, so I am mostly home but do go out for a variety of reasons during the day or evening sometimes. I have a fenced yard and spend lots of time in it with dogs during decent weather. If your very big dog is non-reactive, I would love to host your very big dog. 🐶 (I do not board puppies but do walk puppies. Just please do not ask me to close the door on a crate.) Please ensure your dog is flea-free.
“Annika and John were great with our pup. Their sweet dog Pepper was the perfect playmate too. No issues and quick responses. We’d definitely book with them again!”

“Serena is great! I love that whenever I leave Theo in her care, I know he’s going to get nice and tired playing with Nugget, and I appreciate the updates I get throughout the day. 10/10 definitely recommend and we will keep coming to Serena!”

“Peter took my puppy on more walks than he gets at home! He came home tired, which is hard to do with this fella. I appreciated the generous care he offered my puppy.”

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I have years of hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and personalities. Currently, I live with two of my own pets—a friendly and social labradoodle named Café and a sweet, independent black cat. Through caring for them, I’ve developed a strong routine that includes natural feeding, regular grooming, daily dental care, and lots of physical and mental stimulation. I walk Kafae several times a day, and we enjoy outdoor adventures like hikes, beach trips, and visits to local parks and dog-friendly spaces like Sandy River Delta. I cook his meals using natural, whole ingredients and keep up with monthly grooming, as well as daily ear and teeth cleaning. Beyond my own pets, I’ve provided pet care for friends, family, and neighbors—offering everything from overnight stays to drop-in visits and daily walks. I’m confident managing different temperaments, administering medication (oral/topical), and adjusting to special dietary or behavioral needs. I treat every pet with the same love, patience, and respect I give my own. I understand that trusting someone with your pet is a big deal—and I don’t take that lightly. My goal is always to make both you and your pet feel safe, understood, and cared for. Tips are much appreciated. I donate 10% of my income from each stay to support animals at the Oregon Humane Society. Pet care is a natural and essential part of my everyday life. I care for my own labradoodle, Café, and black cat every single day, so my routine is already built around providing consistent, loving, and attentive care. Each day includes multiple walks, feeding nutritious meals (I cook Café’s food using whole, natural ingredients), daily grooming habits like teeth and ear cleaning, and plenty of playtime and affection. I also make time for regular outings—whether it’s the beach, the Sunday River Delta, hiking trails, or the dog park—so staying active and keeping pets engaged is part of my lifestyle, not an add-on. When I’m caring for other pets, I simply fold them into this rhythm and adapt to their needs and preferences. I enjoy the structure and joy pets bring into my day, and I’m happy to adjust my schedule to ensure each pet gets the attention, care, and love they deserve. When caring for pets in my home, I treat them like part of the family. I provide a safe, clean, and cozy environment with plenty of attention and structure. Pets stay in a calm, pet-friendly space with my own friendly labradoodle, Café, and a quiet, respectful black cat. I follow each pet’s specific feeding, exercise, and medication schedule, and I include them in our daily routine—morning and evening walks, playtime, naps, and enrichment activities like fetch, hikes, or beach trips. I also provide daily updates and photos for peace of mind. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I aim to maintain their regular routine as closely as possible. I respect your space, keep it clean, and make sure your pet feels safe and secure in their familiar environment. I’m attentive to details—feeding, walking, administering medications, and making sure they get plenty of love and companionship. I keep communication open with daily updates, and I’m happy to handle extras like mail, light tidying, or plant care if needed. Whether your pet stays with me or I come to you, I bring patience, consistency, and genuine care to every visit.
“Megan is fantastic! I needed last minute care for my anxious pup and they were very accommodating and asked all the important questions/great with the details. Ned loved his stay and will use them again for sure!”

About: I’m a work from home PhD student with one dog and one cat. I’d love to board or day care your doggo. I will be home with your dog for their entire stay. I’ll treat your dog as my own: giving them frequent potty breaks, a daily long walk, and lots of scritches. My Pom Ellie would love to have a friend who visits! I have several rooms and can separate your dog for meals, if needed. My dog is very much a food-hunter so our home is kept safe from doggies getting in to anything not meant for them. I only sit one dog at a time. You’ll get lots of photos and updates! 🤍 I run a business that is fully online from my home, and I am also a PhD student. So, I am always home and will be with your dog unless I have to run an errand. We take one longer walk per day and have many potty breaks otherwise (every 2-4 hours). Meals will happen on the schedule you describe. I have a Pomeranian here but she can be separated if your dog has special eating needs. Dogs are welcome on all furniture and in bed. Lots of toys around and my Pom will be so happy to have a friend to play with.
About: I adore all animals, available for drop-ins, walks, and puppy play dates with my dog. I’m currently self-training a wonderful psychiatric service dog, Sobek (still in training). Together we have taken a large number of classes, passed the CGC, volunteered with Oregon Humane Training, canine PT, and had a whole lot of fun along the way. I am familiar with positive reenforcement, force free, settle training, crate training, socialization, clicker training, agility and capturing calm behaviors. I have experience with animals who have mild to moderate mobility issues, puppies, senior and special needs, safe stretching/activity monitoring, and reactive body language. *I am not a certified trainer* but I hope to be one day. I’m happy to answer any questions or assist you on your journey, teach your dog a thing or two, or point you to my many trusted local resources. Inclusivity, flexibility, and honesty are some of my main core values. I am honest about my availability, knowledge and conduct. I’m also a former pro photographer and bound to take many cute photos. They/them, queer/trans affirming. I work from home so I am flexible depending on my meetings. I am available late afternoons and evenings unless otherwise noted in my schedule. I’m fairly organized and pet-proof my own home. I always treat other’s homes as if they were my own, meaning I pack out what I pack in and respect the boundaries of humans and pets who live there.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Arbor Lodge
Sydney was extremely easy to connect and communicate with, and I am very appreciative of her being available last minute. She seemed to have taken excellent care of my dog. I came home to a very happy, tired girl. Snacks, potty breaks and playtime/walks with Milo, not a bad day. :)) Having never met Sydney, there was never once where I felt uncomfortable leaving my fur baby with her, and I’m a helicopter parent. Lol Thank you Sydney and Milo for hosting her!!

Erika was absolutely wonderful! She took Moon on short notice without hesitation, which I really appreciated. From the start she was warm, kind, and made me feel completely at ease leaving him with her. She kept me updated throughout, which meant so much. Moon and her dog Miabella got along great, which made the whole experience even better. I will definitely be booking with Erika again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable sitter!

Evita was incredible! She watched Miso while I had a 12hr shift at work, and was extremely accommodating with drop off and pick up time. She sent lots of updates and was very understanding when my nervous dog wouldn’t stop barking in the morning. 10/10 would recommend!!

Amber and her family were amazing and very flexible for our doggy daycare needs for our puppy! Her cute dog Yuji kept our puppy very entertained all day and he came home exhausted and happy. Amber was very professional and set up a meet and greet to make sure it was a good fit, which it was. She kept us updated on the day so we didn’t have to worry about our pup while we’re working. This was a much better alternative to a big doggy daycare facility with the added bonus of a friend to play with all day and personalized care. We will definitely be using Amber regularly!
