“After a meet and greet and 2 walks, we know Emily is a great fit. We love that she treats our pup like she's her own. Emily is more than able to handle our squirrel- and rabbit-obsessed baby. Our fur baby is part Pitbull, part Boston Terrier, and part Boxer and from the beginning, Emily had a great rapport and there was a mutual respect between her and our dog.”

About: What sets me apart is my combination of professional caregiving experience as a registered nurse and my genuine love for animals. I have experience caring for pets of all sizes and personalities, and I currently have two cats of my own. My nursing background has made me highly attentive, dependable, and comfortable recognizing changes in behavior or routine that may require extra attention. I understand the importance of consistency, patience, and clear communication, and I provide regular updates and photos so pet parents can feel confident their pets are in good hands. I treat every pet as if they were my own, ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. As a nightshift RN, I work three 12 hr shifts a week which allows me a lot of flexibility to add in selected walks or drop ins When caring for pets in a client’s home, I strive to maintain their normal routine as closely as possible to minimize stress. I follow all feeding, walking, medication, and exercise instructions carefully and make sure pets receive plenty of attention, affection, and enrichment. I also keep the home tidy and secure and provide regular updates and photos so owners can feel connected while they’re away. I understand that every pet has different needs and personalities, so I take the time to get to know each pet and adjust my care accordingly. Whether a pet enjoys long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply quiet companionship, my goal is to ensure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their family is away.
“Victoria is very reliable and communicative! She was also very accommodating with some unforeseen changes to the plan. I would HIGHLY recommend her, and will certainly book her again in the future!”

“Danielle has been great! She walks my chihuahua/terrier puppy 4 days a week and handles my 8 year old Tree Walker Coonhound with care. Danielle is always responsive and has always been flexible when things came up.”

“Julie is great with Buddy! She has sat with him, given him his meds, walked and played with him. She makes sure I get photos and videos to check in. It’s nice to know there is someone reliable and caring to help with my big, goofy, neurotic dog.”

“Laura was on time, took Toby for a nice walk and fed him. After he ate she cleaned his bowl which she didn't need to do (she didn't even need to stay while he ate) but I thought that was nice!”

About: I treat every pet as if it were my own. I’ve owed three dogs in the past years , two of which were rescues. I worked at a greyhound shelter in the past. I grew up with a cat as child and always been drawn to animals. My house is pet friendly and is a three story row house with a fenced in yard, on a quiet block. I love taking care of animals and will make sure your pet is treated with love and respect! My dog is a friendly and playful Jack Russell mix who loves his walks. My goal is to provide love and company for your pet when you can’t be with them. Whenever I go to someone’s house with pets, they instantly become my best friend!
“Christina took such good care of our little girl. Even at our first meeting we knew she was in good hands. Having experience with dogs (especially German Shepherds), Christina had the perfect demeanor with Leeloo who can be hesitant to trust people she doesn't know. Her special care, attention, and affectionate towards Leeloo had her excitedly anticipating her visits and walks!”

I try to spend as much time with the pets as possible, I feel as if they need just as much, if not more, attention as humans do
“Michael was wonderful with my dog Shelby. He showed up on time each day, and was gentle and patient with her. (She was reluctant to go out sometimes). He communicated with me each day about how it went. Shelby acquainted herself quickly with Michael and started to look forward to her walks. I would highly recommend him. He's definitely a dog lover and is responsible and communicative. Thanks Mike!”

“I can’t recommend Lauren enough! She truly went above and beyond during the walks with my dog, Sky. She ran with her, took care of her in the heat, played with her, and provided continuous check ins and pictures. I could see how much Sky loved her by her biggggg smile🤍”

“I am so relieved to have found someone who was able to connect with my 20 month old 110 lb white Shepard. Kimba has a traumatic history and I have worked really hard to rehab him mentally since adopting him a few months ago. He immediately took to Anthony and put his fear-based aggression aside. Anthony constantly sent me updates with photos and followed all my requests to keep Kimba on his daily routine. I highly recommend Anthony to care for your dog.”

We’ve had a great experience with Nicole! She walks our bernedoodle weekly, is always on time, a great communicator, and brings such a positive energy. She clearly loves what she does and our dog is always excited to see her every visit. It’s a huge relief knowing our dog is in such caring hands. Highly recommend!

Wondered how I would find a dog walker my dogs know on Thanksgiving Day. Naomi to the rescue! I knew I could depend on her to come while we would be gone for several hours and the dogs just love her. They ate well but a little hesitant to walk. Naomi offered to walk a second time, but I knew they would be ok till we go home. And they were. Thanks so much Naomi and I know we will always contact you first.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
