“After a meet and greet and 2 walks, we know Emily is a great fit. We love that she treats our pup like she's her own. Emily is more than able to handle our squirrel- and rabbit-obsessed baby. Our fur baby is part Pitbull, part Boston Terrier, and part Boxer and from the beginning, Emily had a great rapport and there was a mutual respect between her and our dog.”

About: Growing up around all types of animals helped me develop my current love for them! I’m an aspiring veterinary student that would love to get more experience :) I currently take care of my own dogs at home, while also have taken care of cats numerous times! I’ve been taking care of animals since I was born, this comes naturally to me. I care for pets like they’re my own, giving them the love and care that I would if it were in my own home. Every animal deserves kindness!

“Brian has been walking our dogs for several months now and the dogs’s reactions are so cute when he comes. He has formed a great relationship with both dogs and they him.”

“I am so relieved to have found someone who was able to connect with my 20 month old 110 lb white Shepard. Kimba has a traumatic history and I have worked really hard to rehab him mentally since adopting him a few months ago. He immediately took to Anthony and put his fear-based aggression aside. Anthony constantly sent me updates with photos and followed all my requests to keep Kimba on his daily routine. I highly recommend Anthony to care for your dog.”

I work currently part time but often have my weekends free and enjoy a good walk after getting off of my job, I do part time teacher work so the mental refresh is helpful I believe in utmost safety priority, including surveying surroundings constantly for threats, adjusting to it situationally and avoiding drawing attention to it incase it excites the animal.

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I’m a cat owner myself and have two wonderful female cats. I’m passionate about providing care. I volunteer at the SPCA and received training in both feline and canine behavior and handling. I regularly attend cat adoption events to help cats find loving homes. A few years ago, my family drove hours to adopt my now 4 year old cat, Francis, after finding her through a Craigslist listing. I’ve also sat pets for family and friends, cats and dogs. I have experience caring for small animals such as hamsters, gerbils, and mice. I use SEPTA and Lyft for transportation, for that reason, I prefer bookings within Philly. About: Hi, I'm Amy! I'm a 27-year-old graduate student with a master's degree in counseling, and I'm excited to provide reliable, compassionate care for your pets. As a lifelong animal lover, I understand that every pet has their own personality and needs, and I strive to make them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you're away. I have two corgis that I raised from puppies, giving me hands-on experience with high-energy working breeds, puppy training, and caring for adult dogs. I'm comfortable walking dogs that are reactive, strong pullers, or need a patient, confident handler. I also have experience caring for a variety of small animals, including birds, rats, ferrets, and reptiles. Whether your pet needs an energetic walk, playtime, or simply someone dependable to keep them company, I'll treat them with the same care and attention I'd want for my own pets. I look forward to meeting you and your furry (or feathered and scaly!) family members. I currently offer weekend-only availability for dog walks and drop-in visits. While my weekday schedule is dedicated to work, I love spending my weekends caring for pets and making sure they get the exercise, attention, and companionship they deserve. If you're looking for a reliable weekend sitter or walker, I'd love to meet you and your pet! I take special care to make sure I follow all of the instructions left by pet parents. All things needed to walk/care for your dog will be placed back in a neatly fashion when I leave and I will ensure the home looks as good as when I arrived.

About: I have ten years of experience working with seniors in the past and I have 3 amazing, older kids that love to care for animals. I took some time off of work to help homeschool my kids. But my kids have a pretty easy schedule. Therefore, I have a lot of time to care for animals. I have a pregnant neighbor so she usually needs help with her dog. I like to give them 2-3 walks a day, bathe them if needed, feed them dog food with lots of nutrients, and make sure they are hydrated. My clients dog is pretty chill so I usually just pet him and feed him. Pets fit into my daily routine because I have a pretty open schedule and have a lot of time to care for the dogs which I’m caring for I have a fenced in yard and everything that can cause harm is door away. I also have smoke detectors, carbon dioxide, and a fire extinguisher.

Jessica was a great pet sitter! She made sure to schedule a meet & greet beforehand, which I really appreciated. Our dog Wrigley, felt super comfortable around her and I knew I could trust her to take really good care of him while we were out. Jessica followed our instructions perfectly and her communication was stellar. Overall, it was a really great experience. Thank you so much Jessica!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
