“Kiara and Alejandro took amazing care of Canelo while I was away. Canelo has a blast running around their yard with their dogs all day long, got plenty of pets and cuddles from their family. They provided me updates to let me know Canelo was getting along well and getting plenty of activity. I would absolutely love to have them take care of Canelo for any futures trips. Can’t thank them enough.”

“Ashley is wonderful! Remi and Lou can be pretty rambunctious in new places and she handled them like a champ. Happy dogs at pickup and lots of good updates and pictures during their stay!”

“The girls were very comfortable with Jill and seemed very happy when we picked them up. Jill sent pictures throughout the visit. We appreciated the short notice booking over a holiday weekend. Thank you!”

“Sondrea took great care of our cat, Tito! Her home is truly a cat paradise and I know he loved being there. Tito was hesitant of his new surroundings and other cats at first, and Sondrea made sure to help him feel calm and comfortable while he adjusted. She sent pictures and video updates throughout the week and was easy to communicate with before and during Tito’s stay. We would definitely trust Sondrea to take care of Tito again in the future!”

“Mia was wonderful! I was really nervous about leaving Archie for the first time. My other sitters had fallen through and she was able to help us out with only a few days notice which was so appreciated. Her communication was great and we received pictures and videos of Archie. He got lots of walks and time outside. I would recommend Mia to anyone who wants their dog to be treated with the best care.”

About: Hi there!! I have taken care of animals since I have use of reason. At home I grew up in an environment full of dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, birds. My friends and family have felt very comfortable and confident with me when they have had to travel and leave their pets at home. I would love that we could connect and help you too. I have a golden retriever and a doxie and love having new friends over. He have a backyard and a park near home where we go for walks every day. now I am working full time but with a super schedule that allows me to have spaces in the morning and in the evening, also completely free nights. I am a morning person so I start my day early. I will give as much love to your pet as I can, I hope he/she doesn’t notice too much that you left. I can't decide between dogs or cats, they're both great. I love the independence that cats have and how they give you pure love and dogs are fun loving, I love how active they are
“They were amazing with Loki. He did great with their family and their other pets. They loved him just as much as we love him if I ever needed another dog sitter I’ll definitely go back to them and I will definitely recommend them to anybody else that needs one.”

“Ihan was a wonderful sitter - he was willing to meet up beforehand, and he listened and was willing to take on some of my puppy’s behaviors—separation anxiety accidents in particular—that had caused some of my friends to politely decline. He was communicative, sent me a picture of my puppo during the stay, and I could tell she was well exercised and cared for! Thanks, Ihan!”

“Zero issues or complaints. Mia is very responsive and was also flexible with pick up and drop off times. She sent pictures of walks and updates each day. Her pet and mine got along well. Thanks Mia!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Anchorage
Ralph and Irma were so great with Magic! Magic was instantly comfortable around them. He enjoyed lounging in their backyard and playing with Ralph. Ralph gave me daily updates which reassured me. that Magic was happy while I was away. Thank you so much Ralph and Irma!!

Aubrey was great to work with from reservation through pick up. I even had to pick up the dogs mid reservation to get our health certificate to fly out with the week. She made everything seamless. I loved that she sent daily photos, this is a huge gift and very much appreciated. When I picked them up they were happy and healthy I couldn’t have been more pleased! Thanks Aubrey! *****

Alice was great with our needy pup. He’s got separation anxiety, but that wasn’t an issue because someone was always with him during his stay. There were plenty of humans and dogs to help put him at ease. Looking forward to more trips away now that we’ve got a great sitter!

Sondrea and Josh were absolutely the best sitters I have had! My golden puppy is a handful and they took such good care of him. I got so many pictures and videos. Sondrea met with me before my booking to make sure that everything would go smoothly. Excellent communication. My dog returned a very happy and tired boy. Thank you so much. 10/10 would rebook!

Cole was fantastic with Velvet, my 2-year-old rambunctious Norwegian Elkhound (who had truthfully run a few of my friends out of town). Cole sent me photos every day of a two week long vacation, obviously extending a lot of care to make sure Velvet was exercised in the middle of an early March cold snap. And that was after watching Velvet for the prior weekend, so I'm surprised Cole wasn't over my energetic doof of a dog! Cole was also extremely accommodating when travel plans threw curves our way, and we picked Velvet up a couple hours later than anticipated. I really appreciated his grace and kindness and would recommend him a thousand percent.

Kerry was amazing! She kept us updated throughout our whole boarding time. She was very accommodating to our dog who has severe anxiety, and even went out of her way to get our dog a new tag after the old one broke. Would definitely want to board our dog again with her! :)

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AK ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
