“He did a phenomenal job. My husky loves to try to run away but was unable to, and the GPS tracker he has just in case made me feel more safe with the dogs in his hands. He took them on walks, played with them, and gave them the company they needed to not be stressed out. He kept me updated and sent pictures of them during the time away. Will definitely be using him again if I need to travel.”

“Hawken is absolutely amazing and so kind! Our pup loved her time with him so much that we’ve already rebooked him for a longer stay in the holiday season! He went out of his way to help me when I forgot something that my pup needed during the trip — with no hesitation, he purchased it on our behalf and we paid him back. He really didn’t have to do that for us! So wonderful! :) He was very accommodating and kind, will continue to use his pet-sitting services in the future!”

“We left our dog with Joseph and Lisa for over a week while we were out of town. They sent a few pictures and I felt they took great care of our older dog. Thank you!”

“Sunny really seemed to be enjoying himself at Ashely’s home. She was such a quick communicator and sent lots of great photos. Will be using her again for sure!”

About: Would love to love on others pets as we unexpectedly lost our dog of 12 years and aren’t ready for another of our own yet I’m currently a stay home mom to a 3 year old daughter, we walk almost everyday and have more than enough time and love to give! We have a shared unfenced yard but walk around the neighborhood daily. We have an open space for playing around and lots of time to give!
“This is our first time using Rover, and we struck gold with Emily. It is difficult to leave a beloved dog with a stranger so we arranged a pre-travel meet & greet to ensure our pet’s need would be met—frequent walks, love, and attention. She brought her dogs and they made one big happy pack. Just before we left, our dog developed a limp. Emily was extra cautious with him and he was all better when we returned 5 days later. She was great about sending multiple daily photos and texts to keep us updated. We are very grateful to have found someone like her and will definitely ask her to watch him again.”

“A dog lover all of her life and a very supportive family that together made our dog feel completely at home. A fenced yard and 2 lovely dogs of her own rounded out our dog's stay. Can't recommend her enough.”

“Amanda was very responsive, sent multiple updates on Walter. She went above and beyond for his care. We really needed someone like her. Would not hesitate to use her again!”

“Amaris did a fantastic job taking care of my goofy, energetic puppy, Pepper, while I was away for 4 nights! This was my first time leaving Pepper with a sitter, so I was a bit nervous, but Amaris made me feel comfortable. She was very responsive to my initial message and was happy to set up a meet & greet. I could immediately tell that Amaris is a kind, caring person, and she got along great with my puppy. While I was gone on my trip, she sent regular updates and daily pictures. Pepper can have separation anxiety (she is a village husky rescue), and so Amaris was the perfect choice of pet sitter because she did not have to leave Pepper alone for long periods, as Pepper loved playing with Amaris's sweet dogs while at her place, as well as being able to go to work with Amaris. It helped me enjoy my vacation knowing that Pepper was getting plenty of attention and play time with other dogs while I was away! It was wonderful coming back from vacation to a happy, confident, relaxed puppy. We will definitely be using her again, and I will be recommending her to friends.”

“Prospect was in great company and thoroughly enjoyed his time with Aiko and her family :) Great communicators, flexible with my changing pickup & dropoff times, and my boy was returned to me safe & happy. Would recommend to anyone!”

About: Hi there!! I have taken care of animals since I have use of reason. At home I grew up in an environment full of dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, birds. My friends and family have felt very comfortable and confident with me when they have had to travel and leave their pets at home. I would love that we could connect and help you too. I have a golden retriever and a doxie and love having new friends over. He have a backyard and a park near home where we go for walks every day. now I am working full time but with a super schedule that allows me to have spaces in the morning and in the evening, also completely free nights. I am a morning person so I start my day early. I will give as much love to your pet as I can, I hope he/she doesn’t notice too much that you left. I can't decide between dogs or cats, they're both great. I love the independence that cats have and how they give you pure love and dogs are fun loving, I love how active they are
“Zoe & I did a meet & greet with Stacey & her dog before booking & Zoe seemed ok with her. She has a yard for the dogs to run around in. Stacey is very personable! Stacey was great about sending updates & pictures. She included Zoe in any outdoor activity she & her dog went on. Zoe is nervous with new people, but Stacey said Zoe warmed up to her & her dog quickly. Stacey let me know that I may not have packed Zoe enough food (mom fail) & asked what brand I fed her vs. just feeding Zoe what her dog ate, which I greatly appreciated (Zoe did have just enough, lol). She gave me thorough rundown when I picked Zoe up. I highly recommend Stacey & Zoe will be definitely staying with her again.”

“Ramona was seriously really great. We could tell she and her family were genuinely happy to have our dog Murphy at their home for a few days. We received several updates and pictures of Murphy. Murphy didn’t want to leave when we picked him up! We will absolutely be using Ramona in the future.”

“Jennifer was amazing with my skittish pup. She has two sweet dogs, one of which is a big, lovable German Shepard who at first made my little pup nervous, but with Jennifer's oversight the two were soon getting along no problem. I came home to a happy dog!”

“Alice was great with our needy pup. He’s got separation anxiety, but that wasn’t an issue because someone was always with him during his stay. There were plenty of humans and dogs to help put him at ease. Looking forward to more trips away now that we’ve got a great sitter!”

About: I’ve taken care of a variety animals and can’t seem to get enough. I love all animals and work hard to ensure they are comfortable and safe. I currently have a dog and cat of my own that get along well with other pets. I would love to take time to meet you and your fur babies to better get to know you and their needs! I have a masters degree in social work and currently work as a mental health therapist for kids. My schedule is Monday-Friday 10am-7pm. I get an hour for lunch and could be available for drop-ins. I have open availability most weekends! I follow directions and provide quality pet care…and of course extra pet snuggles. I love being outside and have a reactive dog of my own so I’m willing to work with most pets.

About: Hello, Caitlyn T. and Harrison S. here! Much of our life revolves around our sweet Alaskan Husky, Crosby, and we'd love to add your pup to the pack while you're away. We both have extensive experience pet sitting - from horses to cats and dogs - and would love to help our community with the space and time we currently have available. About Us: I, Caitlyn, work from home so I can be with your pup all day! We have a dog door to a fenced in (sunny!) backyard, so when we're away, the pups still have access to the yard. We get in morning and afternoon leashed neighborhood sniff-walks, then do longer off-leash walks in the evenings. Harrison works at a bakery in town, but equally caretakes in the evenings and on Sundays and Mondays. As a pet parent myself, having two people involved in the care of my pet when I'm away is comforting, so we're happy to provide that to others! About Crosby: Crosby is a 13-year-old Alaskan Husky/Shephard mix who didn't make the cut for his dog sled team as a puppy, then spent his early years on a farm in Talkeenta before joining our family 9 years ago. He absolutely loves other dogs and reads them well. If they want to play, he'll play, if they want to be left alone, he'll leave them alone. He grew up around puppies, so he is also very good at setting and holding appropriate boundaries with dogs who are still learning. Overall, he has a very quiet, soft demeaner at home but is the most confident, bouncy dog at the park. He still has a lot of energy and in his older years, we just want him to have as much dog-companionship as possible. Your Dog: A good fit for our home would be a dog that is friendly with other dogs, is not food/toy aggressive, can be independent in the house for 1-3 hours at a time, and would not dig under or jump the 4' fence or dig in our gardens. We look forward to chatting more and meeting your pup! 😊 I, Caitlyn, work from home so I can be with your pup all day! “Maggie was great! Luna came home happy. And Maggie worked with me when I was stuck out of state and realized that I had not booked correctly. Would definitely book her again!”

Anchorage pet parents share their Rover experiences
Sarah is amazing- very friendly and has an ideal property for giving pups plenty of space. Our pup- who normally has challenges being introduced to new dogs- had an excellent two week stay surrounded by a few furry friends. Highly reccomend and hope to book again very soon.

Aubrey was great to work with from reservation through pick up. I even had to pick up the dogs mid reservation to get our health certificate to fly out with the week. She made everything seamless. I loved that she sent daily photos, this is a huge gift and very much appreciated. When I picked them up they were happy and healthy I couldn’t have been more pleased! Thanks Aubrey! *****

Alice was great with our needy pup. He’s got separation anxiety, but that wasn’t an issue because someone was always with him during his stay. There were plenty of humans and dogs to help put him at ease. Looking forward to more trips away now that we’ve got a great sitter!

Sondrea and Josh were absolutely the best sitters I have had! My golden puppy is a handful and they took such good care of him. I got so many pictures and videos. Sondrea met with me before my booking to make sure that everything would go smoothly. Excellent communication. My dog returned a very happy and tired boy. Thank you so much. 10/10 would rebook!

Cole was fantastic with Velvet, my 2-year-old rambunctious Norwegian Elkhound (who had truthfully run a few of my friends out of town). Cole sent me photos every day of a two week long vacation, obviously extending a lot of care to make sure Velvet was exercised in the middle of an early March cold snap. And that was after watching Velvet for the prior weekend, so I'm surprised Cole wasn't over my energetic doof of a dog! Cole was also extremely accommodating when travel plans threw curves our way, and we picked Velvet up a couple hours later than anticipated. I really appreciated his grace and kindness and would recommend him a thousand percent.

Kerry was amazing! She kept us updated throughout our whole boarding time. She was very accommodating to our dog who has severe anxiety, and even went out of her way to get our dog a new tag after the old one broke. Would definitely want to board our dog again with her! :)

Ralph was just so kind and caring towards our Roo girl. I was very sad leaving her for the first time with a new person since we moved to AK and knowing she was in such good hands immediately healed the worry! He was very attentive to her and her individual personality, and it was immensely evident how much TLC she was receiving day to day! Ralph was fabulous with daily communication and photos, highly recommend and would 11/10 take Roo back to stay with Ralph!!
