“Jamie is awesome with dogs. She is gentle and directive and my pup responded well to her. She also went out of her way to interact with my dog the way we do at home. She spoke to her in Spanish and kept up with practicing her usual tricks. And I was really impressed to hear that she ventured out to the river with her three dogs plus my little one who swam and played fetch. That is more than I could ask of any sitter. Thanks a million for your kindness towards animals including my very own!”

About: I grew up in a very pet-friendly home and have always been surrounded by animals. My mom consistently had multiple cats at a time, and my dad and stepmom have always had several dogs in the household as well. Because of that, I’m very comfortable caring for both cats and dogs of different personalities and energy levels! I absolutely love animals and so does my entire family. I’m currently a stay at home mom to a 2 year old and almost 1 year old. We love going outside and playing with our two dogs! We spend a lot of time with our dogs and cat giving them love and playing with them! We do not have a fenced yard but our front yard is pretty big and a decent backyard. We can easily use crates for them if needed/preferred.
“Zhenya is awesome. This was our dogs first stay with her and they loved their time. She is easy to communicate with and responsive. We will definitely book with her again when we need a sitter.”
“Absolutely best dog sitters!! Got pictures or videos every day or every other day (which I perfered. Both brother and sister were supper accommodating and flexible about pick up and drop off. Asked about extra special food while on trip for the dogs to eat. Super friendly and I was super lucky to have found them for my first try on Rover. 6 stars.”

“Brittany was wonderful with our pup! He had a great time and was welcomed into her house like family. She sent great pictures and updates on him. We would absolutely recommend Brittany and plan on having him stay with her in the future.”

About: I have watched my friends and family’s pups like they’re my own countless times! We always have such a great time. I have one dog, Ricco, who is great with other pups of all sizes and ages. We have a large intended yard that’s great for fetch and trails nearby for walks or runs! I work 7.5hrs per day, MWF I work from home and TR I work in Wasilla. I like to take the fur babes everywhere that I can, just to get them out of the house, even if it’s mundane post office runs or whatever. Per manufacturer’s (owner’s) instructions! Try to keep pets apart when feeding. Let out as often as requested (and feasible per my work schedule). Like to let pets play together if they’re friendly to each other.
About: Iv had dogs my entire life. From labs to bullterriers, pitbulls, britneys,GPS puppies. I will take care of yours as I would my own. Walks, parks if yours likes parks, cuddles, anything they need. I work from home so I have lots of flexibility to care for your pups! I’m available for boarding on weekends and most weekdays after 2pm. I’m happy to accommodate early mornings or extended stays with advance notice, and I’m quick to respond to messages. Your dog’s safety is always my top priority. Dogs are always leashed outside and stay within my sight at all times. I closely follow your care instructions, keep a calm and attentive environment, and make sure pets get plenty of love, supervision, and safe play. I treat every dog like they’re my own.
“Jennifer is super attentive and kind. She paid great attention with my dog and has kept me updated with lots of photos. I highly suggest her to anyone and has my greatest regards.”

“Ramona was seriously really great. We could tell she and her family were genuinely happy to have our dog Murphy at their home for a few days. We received several updates and pictures of Murphy. Murphy didn’t want to leave when we picked him up! We will absolutely be using Ramona in the future.”

“Tina was a great dog sitter for my 2 pups. She was very attentive and sent a lot of pictures. She was very flexible when unexpected circumstances come up with my planned return date. Tina had prompt responses to all of my messages, and she went out of her way to make the pups feel at home. I recommend her for your dog sitting needs and will be using her in the future!”

About: Hi! I’m a young, experienced dog trainer with a genuine love for animals of all sizes and personalities. I offer reliable dog training, boarding, and walking services in a safe, structured, and loving environment. My approach focuses on positive reinforcement, building confidence, and meeting each dog’s individual needs. Whether your pup needs daily walks, overnight care, or help with basic manners, they’ll be treated like family while in my care. ** all dogs in my care will be kenneled at night and when left alone*** I have plenty of time. In my schedule to come help out! Just let me know. Afternoons are best, or early mornings. Can’t wait to meet them. I have experience in dog first aid! Know dog body language, so I can read them to make sure they are comfortable. Dogs will always be on a leash! When outdoors. Unless in a fenced yard.

About: What sets me apart is my depth of hands-on experience caring for dogs with many different personalities, temperaments, and needs. I’m very comfortable managing multiple dogs, reading body language, and creating a calm environment where dogs feel safe and settle in quickly. I have experience with puppies, including potty routines, crate training foundations, and helping young dogs adjust to new environments. I’m also attentive to senior dogs and those who may need a slower pace, medication, or extra comfort and supervision. Because dogs are such a big part of my daily life, I naturally pay attention to safety, structure, and individual needs. I understand how to introduce dogs carefully to new spaces, prevent overstimulation, and maintain routines so they feel secure while their owners are away. I only accept one household at a time, which allows me to provide personalized care, close supervision, and plenty of attention. My goal is always for dogs to feel relaxed, comfortable, and genuinely cared for-not just watched. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine because I’m home frequently throughout the day and dogs are already a central part of my life. This allows me to provide consistent supervision, regular potty breaks, playtime, and plenty of attention. I plan my schedule around the dogs in my care so they aren’t left alone for long periods. I’m able to maintain feeding routines, exercise, and quiet rest time so they feel comfortable and settled. Because I only accept one household at a time, I can focus on their individual needs and make sure they receive personalized care throughout the day. Safety and comfort are always my top priorities. In my home, I create a calm, structured environment where dogs can settle in and feel secure. I only accept one household of dogs at a time, which allows me to provide close supervision and individualized attention without overcrowding or unnecessary stress. I introduce dogs to new spaces gradually and pay close attention to body language, behavior, and comfort levels so I can adjust care to their needs. Dogs have access to comfortable resting areas, regular potty breaks, and supervised outdoor time in a secure space. I follow each owner’s instructions carefully for feeding, routines, medications, and exercise to maintain consistency. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect their space and maintain the pet’s normal routine as closely as possible. I make sure pets are safe, comfortable, and well cared for during each visit, and I provide updates and photos so owners can feel confident while they are away. My goal is always to create a safe, low stress experience where pets feel relaxed and owners feel complete peace of mind.
“Kaitlyn was great! She picked up my little guy and dropped him off, gave me updates throughout his stay, and was easy to communicate with. My dog seemed like he had a great time and I’ll definitely reach out to see if she is available next time I take off.”

About: Adult human with many years of pet-owning and pet-sitting experience. Have hosted 15 foster dogs and puppies in past 2 years, setting them up for success with regular exercise and clear and consistent rules. I have a good set-up for hosting both dogs and cats responsibly. Please contact with any questions. I am a stay-at-home supportive spouse, meaning I am available to treat your pets like I treat my own. My pets are spoiled. And well-behaved. For dogs - have a fenced-in yard for safe pottying. I have a friendly adult female dog - spayed, and two well-behaved cats. I have local trails available where I exercise my own dog. I can provide a crate, if desired - I do request that your dog be crate-trained and I cannot accommodate a dog with a heavy prey-drive. For cats, I have an unused bedroom set up as a private suite, that my own pets do not have access to. This room has a window and plenty of cat napping options. I live on a quiet street. I am available to give your cat as much attention as they desire.
“Mia made sure to treat our boy like her own during our time away visitingq family. She sent many photos, let our boy cuddle her kiddos, and even sent him home with a thoughtful Christmas present :) The most stressful part of traveling is wondering if my boy is being taken care of well…he’s very humanlike & can be a little bit high maintenance sometimes lol My worries were minimal during his stay in Mia’s home! We will definitely be booking with her again in the future when needed :)”

“Absolutely fantastic... constant communication... Bailey was obviously happy and completely comfortable... and sadly... probably didn't miss us because of how wonderful Jaymie was... HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER”

About: Growing up with dogs, cats, horses and even goats - I’m no stranger to pet care and all that it entails. As a nurse, I have a rotating schedule that allows me to have frequent weekdays off so I can help you with your pets! Additionally, it means I have no qualms about veterinary care such as medications or special precautions for any pups who need it. I have my own Alaskan Husky, Dash, so I’m no stranger to puppy training, either. I’m happy to do whatever I can to make sure your doggo has the best day. My work schedule varies week to week, but I always have 4 days a week off to help out with your pup. On those days, my days are pretty free to accommodate your dog’s care needs! Refer to my Rover calendar for availability. I have a fenced yard as well as a very sweet young pup named Dash who can play with your dog if you would like! I live right near a great trail system for dog walks, but I also love to go for hikes if that’s what your dog needs, and I have a comfy couch for those who rather snuggle up with me while I read.
“Chelsea provided great communication throughout my dogs stay with her. She also had a welcoming environment for my two dogs. I felt confident and comfortable with leaving my dogs with her and would definitely have my dogs stay with her again.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AK ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
