My name is Suzi, and I often do Rover along with my husband, Ben. I am a special education preschool teacher, but I have been taking the last few years off to work as a contractor in Antarctica over the winters - October to March. I have had pets for most of my life, from dogs to rabbits to hedgehogs. I have cared for a variety of breeds and species and I love all animals. ❤️🐶🐱🐹🐰🐭🐷🐢🐠🦜🦔 I was born and raised in Alaska and I love walking the beautiful trails, especially with a furry friend! My husband is usually with me for pet sitting, which helps to limit the time your pet spends alone and allow us to provide extra love. Besides my pet ownership experience, I have over 15 years of professional experience house/pet sitting. I live in West Anchorage and frequently board pets in my home, where I have a fully fenced yard. I also frequently house sit between Anchorage/Girdwood and the Valley. Suzanne and her husband took my friend and I’s pups after we scheduled a last minute trip. They were extremely accommodating and communicative! They sent us pictures during the weekend and the pups were well taken care of! Would definitely recommend!

Schedule
I am currently substitute teaching on my own schedule. If your pet needs more constant care, I can avoid taking substitute jobs during the booking (happily, as I prefer not to work every single day anyway). Otherwise, I will often be at work between 7:00am and 3:00pm.

Safety, trust & environment
We can provide potty breaks in our fenced yard when boarding, walks along the trails (we love long walks), and lots of play time. We will feed according to your schedule and provide fresh water frequently. I am not a professional bather/groomer, but I am happy to help with the basics. I do not mind pets on my furniture or in my bed, but please let me know if you prefer to not get your pets in this habit. ☺️
A typical day
We will play, run around the yard, go for long walks, and relax. My favorite walks are along the coastal trail and by Lake Hood and Lake Spenard. We enjoy the dog parks as well (let me know how your pups do in the car, and we can take them on a drive). I also love having a furry companion to binge Netflix with, and I love cuddles!

- It is important for me to know about any allergies, medications, illnesses, and dietary restrictions for the animals. Please let me know if you do not want your pets to go on the furniture (because I don’t mind, but I don’t want to get your pets into habits you don’t appreciate ☺️). I often have my own toys and treats (such as dog biscuits and dental sticks) that I am willing to provide during bookings, but please let me know if you would prefer to only use what you have provided. I do not have any breed restrictions.
