About: I’ve always loved taking care of my furry and not so furry friends!! I grew up in a home full of dogs and a vast range of animals such as reptiles, amphibians, and other aquatic life etc. I’m currently working from home so my schedule is generally open as far as Monday-Friday. I’m available throughout the entire weekend as well. I like to keep the animals in my care on a schedule so they aren’t stressed, I prioritize (the animal’s) comfortability and structure because that’s just what makes sense. About: Pets have always been a part of my life. From my first fish to my 6 year old Labrador now I can’t ever stop hanging around animals. My neighbours friends and family always say I’m the animal whisperer. Dogs and cats are my primary specialty encompassing walks, play time, meal time, you name it I’ll be able to do it with them. I’m a student athlete so my schedule is pretty flexible to stop in during the days or stop in overnights. About: Hi! I'm looking for new wonderful pets to walk and take care of! I have taken in four rescues, all with different special physical and behavioral needs. I currently have two Pitbull mixes, one Lab mix, and a multiple tropical aquariums! Caring for animals has been a passion of mine since I was young. A favorite activity of mine is taking my dogs to local forest preserves where they can play and exert their energy. I can administer eye drops, pills, and ointments to pets as my own have different medications that they need on a regular basis. I have also taken classes in care for companion animals. Special needs animals have a forever place in my heart because I believe that every pup or cat deserves to enjoy life to the fullest! Whether that is hiking at a trail, swimming in a lake, or curling up on the couch- I'd love to help them do that! Currently very open for scheduling. Stays for over a week will have to be discussed as I do have to ensure time to take care of my own animals. About: I've been taking care of dogs and cats for family and friends for the past 15 years and I've had two professional pet sitter jobs, One for a golden retriever for a few years and I've dog sitted for two pitbulls. I also grew up with 3 large dogs a Rottweiler, German shepherd and English Mastiffs. About: I have over 13 years experience doing vet assistant and vet technician tasks and skills as a volunteer at The Animal Welfare League in Chicago Ridge, IL. I have been employed as part of the membership and philanthropic department at Lincoln Park Zoo from which I learned a great deal, stemming from my biology classes on taxonomy to zoology, to specific animal facts and conservation of threatened animals. I therefore know a great deal of educational background on animal behavior. I studied psychology and comparitive human psychology/animal behavior with a bachelors in science from IIT. I have grown up with dogs, cats, and ferrets. At Southwest Animal Care Center, I bathed, fed, walked, medicated, and cared for boarding and patient animals. I graduated with my veterinary assistant certificate in 2018. After graduating from IIT, I became a kennel attendant and learned a great deal about how to care for animals. Pet care is a daily task for me as I take care for two little fuzzbutt ferrets, Icarus and Agatha. Icarus often wakes me up with his bushy tailed excitement. I'm lucky to have such wonderful critters in my life. Right now, I am only offering dog walking and off-site at client's home services. From what I've read from the anthropologist book "Inside of a Dog" by Alexandra Horowitz, animals, especially dogs, crave human attention so being attentive to an animal's needs is to me, what's most important. This includes communicating with animals to know when they need a bathroom break, when they want play, when they want affection and cuddles, when they want nappy time, being fed according to what their schedule is, and of course, offering healthy treats (if allowed) and new novel smells, toys, etc. I can manage 4-5 walks per day with one or multiple dogs at a time 5-6 days a week. This is my main job and I'm dedicated to providing top care as if they are my own. I take extra care to be a courteous and contentious guest in the owner's home.
