Kathryn is a very conscientious worker, and the pet sitter of my dreams! She spent extensive time with my cat, way beyond my expectations. She gave Jim Cats by constant attention, and he loved her and looked content in the many fabulous photos she sent. I was thrilled to feel connected through these updates, and to see my cat luxuriating in the petting and good care. Kathryn also diligently communicated about house challenges and solved them— again, going above and beyond. She is very flexible, patient. understanding, and helpful. Somehow Kathryn also made time to leave the house in perfect condition, exactly as she found it. She is a fantastic worker and pet whisperer, and we hope she will come back many times in the future.

We had a wonderful experience with Patrick house/dog-sitting for us! He came over for a meet-and-greet before our trip, which we really appreciated and helped us feel confident leaving our dogs in his care. Throughout our vacation, he kept us updated with photos and messages, so we always knew our pups were doing well. He was very responsive, took great care of both our dogs and our home, and left everything clean and just as we left it. We came home to happy dogs and had complete peace of mind while we were away. We’d absolutely book with him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable, communicative, and trustworthy sitter!

All I can say (write) are words of praise and gratitude for Lisa. She is Amazing! She is so attentive, considerate and truly super sweet. I received pictures and updates. My girl (dog) fell in love with Lisa, which shows and proves how well Lisa took care of her. Lisa not only fed my girl by my noted instructions, she also washed all of my pets feeding measurement cups. that was a detail that blew me away. I didnt ask for any of that. Lisa went above and beyond. It was really cold and Lisa walked my girl and let her enjoy a little outdoors. I didnt stress on my out of town travels as my girl (dog) was in good hands. I will definitely ask for Lisa’s services again and again. Thank you Lisa for everything.

About: Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up surrounded by dogs of all sizes and breeds, from a beloved Cocker Spaniel to two Giant Schnauzers and later a Pit Bull. Each one helped shape my love and understanding of animals and taught me how unique every pet’s personality can be. Today, I’m the proud owner of a French Bulldog who keeps me on my toes and a pet snake, giving me experience caring for both traditional and exotic pets. I’ve also spent time around cats through friends and family and am comfortable caring for feline companions as well. While attending Ball State University, I volunteered at local animal shelters, helping care for animals and supporting their daily needs. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, playful, or senior, I understand the importance of providing patience, attention, and loving care. I treat every animal as if they were my own and strive to make them feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. Pet care is already a part of my daily routine, as I currently care for my own pets and understand the importance of consistency, attention, and reliability. I work as a State Farm agent in Chicago’s West Loop, and because it is a family-owned business that my family manages and operates daily, I have some flexibility within my schedule when needed. During the week, I am available for pet care before work, after work, and during my lunch break. Depending on the day and my workload, I may also have additional flexibility to accommodate specific care needs. On weekends, I typically have more availability and can provide extra time and attention for walks, drop-in visits, overnight care, and companionship. I am careful not to overbook myself because I believe every pet deserves quality care and attention. When I accept a booking, you can trust that I have the time and availability to provide dependable, attentive care and ensure your pet remains safe, comfortable, and happy while you’re away. At this time, I’m unable to offer boarding services in my home due to my own pets. However, I am happy to provide a variety of other services, including drop-in visits, dog walking, overnight stays, and personalized in-home pet care. My goal is to ensure your pets remain comfortable in their familiar environment while receiving the attention, companionship, and care they deserve. Whether your pet needs playtime, feeding, medication administration, exercise, or simply a reassuring presence while you’re away, I am committed to providing safe, reliable, and compassionate care tailored to their needs.

I also grew up with 3 large dogs a Rottweiler, German shepherd and English Mastiffs. About: I was born and raised with Dobermans by my side, but my expertise does not just span large dogs--but also small dogs, puppies, seniors, cats, and other furry friends. I’ve been a reliable pet sitter, taking care of my friend’s and family’s cats and dogs. I’ve ensured they’re well-fed, entertained, and they have taken care of business 💩. I’ve stayed at homes and made drop-in visits, so I can provide flexible care. I understand that your pets are like family members, so I’ll treat them with the same patience and respect they deserve! I am currently working part time at an office and applying for other jobs. I have a lot of extra time on my hands and I am looking to fill it by spending time with animals and getting my steps in! I am open for last minute bookings!!! I prioritize your pet’s comfort by following your specific care routine. My process begins by gaining your pet's trust through a calm, patient approach, ensuring they feel safe before we dive into anything. I like to keep the line of communication open with the pet parent to ensure transparency throughout the whole process. I maintain a consistent schedule for feeding, potty breaks, and affection to minimize any anxiety they may face without their typical routine away from parents.

About: Hi, I’m Chanty. I’m based in Oak Forest and love spending time outdoors with dogs. I had a Yorkie for 15 years, so I’ve cared for dogs through all stages of life. I’ve also helped care for pit bulls, rescued young pups, and regularly look after my sister’s Maltese. I treat animals like family. I care for them with the same love and attention I’d give my own, playing and interacting with them based on their needs and energy, while also keeping up with routines, cleanliness, and any special needs they may have. I understand how much trust it takes to leave your dog with someone new, so I am happy to meet you and your pup beforehand. I also make it a point to keep you updated during visits with photos, messages, and anything else that would help you feel connected and reassured while you’re away. I get around by bike and offer nearby walks and drop-ins full of play, love and personalized care. Whether your pup needs adventure, calm companionship, or even just a bath, I’d love to help out! Pet care fits easily into my routine because I work freelance online and create my own schedule. I’m very flexible and can adapt week to week to meet your needs, whether you need a regular walker or occasional drop-ins! When I’m in someone else’s home or caring for their pet, I treat it all with the same respect I treat my own. You can trust that I will follow whatever routines or instructions you give me, and I always leave things clean and as I found them. I try to really tune into each animal’s mood and needs so they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for.

Alyssa was absolutely a God send. She was incredible with our two kitties that we never left before. She was very thorough and detail oriented. Also she sent regular pictures and videos and messages. Anytime I reached out to her she was very quick to respond. She was the only person that our kitties actually went up to the first time they met her. They are always reserved and shy and actually run and hide from any visitors...even my parents that have been here several times took them several visits to get used to. Animals can sense a good hearted, caring person when they meet one. We will absolutely be using Alyssa on a regular basis. I know it can't be easy to trust someone you don't know staying at your house for several days but as soon as I met Alyssa, I was instantly comfortable and trusting of her. One word to describe her: PERFECT. :-)

FAQs for House Sitting - Alsip

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Alsip on Rover is $40 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 7,878 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Alsip. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Alsip walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Alsip maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Alsip choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Alsip. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
