“Alonzo was absolutely amazing to work with! He house sat and watched our 2 dogs while we were away. He was great with sending daily updates/pictures, has amazing communication, and left our house looking great for when we got back. I cannot say enough good things about him, and I highly recommend him to anyone who needs a dog/house sitter! We will definitely be in touch with him in the future!”

“Tyler was awesome sitter. Very professional, listened to our concerns/requests and made sure everything we requested has been followed. Very responsive to all of our questions while we were away. My dog Loki had wonderful time with Tyler. I would highly recommend Tyler to anyone who needs a reliable sitter.”
“Alex and Kelsey took wonderful care of our home, our German Shepherd (Cadence), and our cat (Mio) for a week while we were away. We came home to a house that was just as clean and organized as we left it, and both pets were happy, healthy, and clearly well cared for. They were easy to communicate with, professional, reliable, and gave us great peace of mind while we were traveling. It was obvious they treated our home with respect and kept everything safe and secure. We wouldn’t hesitate to have them house sit for us again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy, caring sitters.”

About: With years of hands on experience working and volunteering at animal shelters since high school, I bring a deep understanding of pet care and behavior to every sitting experience. I’ve had the privilege of caring for a wide variety of animals, which has given me the skills to adapt to the unique needs of every pet. Currently, I share my home with Sally, a 5-year-old Domestic Short Hair tabby who I adopted in 2024. She is the light of my life and reminds me daily of the importance of love, patience, and attentive care when it comes to our furry companions. Special Skills • Shelter Experience: Years of volunteer and work experience in shelters have equipped me to handle animals with diverse backgrounds and needs, from shy rescues to high-energy pets. • Multi-Species Expertise: Having cared for a variety of pets, I am comfortable with dogs, cats, and more exotic companions. • Behavioral Insight: Skilled in understanding and managing pet behaviors, including those of rescues or pets with anxiety. • Personalized Care: I believe every pet deserves individualized attention and make it my priority to ensure they feel loved and secure. I treat every pet I care for as if they were my own, providing the same love and attention I give to my dear Sally. With me, your pet will receive exceptional care and companionship. I am currently a very recent college graduate student who has full availability on the weekends and weekday availability depending on the time(s) requested. My schedule currently consist of work 5 days a week (any changes in my schedule will be noted). When caring for pets in a client’s home, I prioritize maintaining their normal routine as closely as possible. I respect their space and follow all instructions regarding feeding schedules, exercise, playtime, and any special needs or medications. I ensure your home remains tidy and secure during my visits and keep you updated with regular messages or photos to provide peace of mind. Whether it’s spending extra time playing with an energetic pet or offering a calm, reassuring presence for a shy one, I adapt my approach to suit their personality and preferences.
About: I’ve worked with dogs of all sizes and ages, as well as animals that take daily medication. I’m very good when it comes to applying the owners needs with consistency and lots of attention for their pets. I babysit part time and I have dog sitting clients outside of Rover as well. My schedule is very flexible and so it’s easier for me to meet new clients and their pets! I always make sure to ask my clients if there’s any additional info that I need to know. I’m a very aware and attentive person, that’s why I keep a good eye on the pets body language and everyday needs. Keeping up with their schedule is another important detail to me.
“Halley did a fine job taking care of our animals. I have not spent any time away from my dog in the 12-ish years I've had her so I was pretty stressed about that. We also have a cat of advanced age, we were worried about her and finally 2 cats who are sneaky and will dart out if you're not paying attention. Happily all 4 animals are happy and unstressed. They were happy to see us of course but overall, they didn't have too much stress. Finally, our home was still neat and clean when we got home. Halley was very conscientious, she left our home as neat as she found it. There was a snafu but Halley managed to deal with it and get on with things. I would be happy to recommend her to others and if we ever need to go out of town again, Halley is who I would ask to care for my home and my animals.”

“We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Junny and Johmel. Junny did a meet-and-greet before our trip, asked thoughtful and thorough questions, and followed all of our instructions perfectly. We had them watch our two large pitbulls in our home while we were on a trip for 4 nights. We received amazing photos and detailed updates twice a day, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. They checked in proactively with any pertinent details, were flexible and accommodating with our flights in case of delays, and left our home exceptionally clean. We couldn’t have asked for better care for our dogs—highly recommend and we would absolutely use them again!”
“Skylar was great watching our two large male dogs overnight in our home. She came over to learn our routines and with her background being raised with large dogs, we felt comforted knowing she was familiar ready to handle them. She was great about communicating proactively while she was here, she was respectful of our home. We would recommend Skylar if you are needing a pet sitter while tou are out of town. Thank you Skylar!”

About: I’ve have pets my whole life, I currently have 2 dogs and a cat. I have experience with medication administration, reactive pets, and anxious pets. I am comfortable managing large breeds and love to walk. I am a student at Cal Poly Humboldt and my schedule is fairly flexible. I drive so I can easily do check ins throughout the day. I keep a close eye on the pets | watch and follow instructions very closely. I take pet care seriously and will make sure your pet gets the best care possible.
“Alex was a great sitter. Very smooth communication and she went above and beyond. Enzo was very happy and relaxed when I got home, house was clean and tidy. I will definitely book again!”

“Scott took excellent care of our adorable but stubborn young Yorkie “Milo” while we travelled to England for about 2 weeks. Upon return Milo looked at me as if to ask, “Who are you? You’re vaguely familiar but I can’t quite remember.” But then he burst into squeals of joy, jumping up and down. To us, this kind of greeting when arriving back home is good testimony confirming Milo’s happiness with Scott as his career. Scott emphasized the importance of Milo eating actual doggy food and using his doggy door to go “outside potty” Outside Potty has been a dim concept to Milo until now. Scott swears Milo had no accidents when we were away. The way he sniffs the rush woven containers in the living room make me doubt that some BUT he has been NOTICEABLY better about his potty training these last few days than before the trip. Without leaving full written pet and house instructions for Scott before we left as we should have and intended, Scott did a remarkable job caring for Milo, emphasizing his training and exercise needs and safeguarding our home. Scott is always prompt, fantastically pleasant, clever and appears extremely caring to his charge. He always wears a smile, communicates well and is very easy to deal with. Without hesitation we’d be eager and happy to employ Scott’s services again. We felt our precious dog child was in safe, caring and attentive hands as was our property as well. Finding Rover and Scott has been a super experience for our family.”

About: I grew up showing chickens through 4H and riding horses. I have fostered kittens and trained my dog to do agility. i absolutely love bonding with animals and they’ve always been such an important part of who I am. I promise you I will take the best care of your sweet pets! I am in California temporarily for winter time as I am a College student from another state. I am looking to work whenever/as needed! ! When I have pet sit/house sit in the past, I spend a lot of time bonding with the pets and making them feel safe and not alone. I am flexible when it comes to stopping by to check on them or living in to take care of them. I love giving out treats and playing but of course it’s up to you as to what I’d be allowed to do!
“Bailey watched our border collie/heeler mix Huck for 10 days and we were very happy with our experience with her. She provided updates on their activities, followed our written instructions, and we came home to a healthy and happy pup and a clean house! We definitely recommend Bailey as a sitter.”

About: Animals have always brought me a lot of joy. I grew up with and have taken care of dogs, cats, chickens, rabbits, birds, horses, reptiles, and amphibians, so I am well acquainted with many types of creatures! I have cared for newborn kittens, as well as senior dogs and cats. Due to my background as a veterinary technician and wildlife caretaker, I am very comfortable with animals who require medical care or have higher needs in general. I am familiar with giving medications, shots, cleaning and grooming, and overall behavior indicators of well-being. I also assisted in surgeries, where I prepped the supplies, took vitals, and monitored the pet's health while under anesthesia. While I hope no family has to endure the hardship that comes with an ill or elderly pet, it does happen. Whether you are planning a trip away or just need some assistance, I would be happy to care for your fur baby and hope to meet them soon. I currently have a cat and three chickens who I love a lot. So unfortunately, I cannot board any pets at my home. I have a remote job, so am flexible with home stays, walks, feeding schedules, and anything else to keep your friend happy. I always first consider the pets' and my safety. In my own home, I have spent the last 4 years helping my cat overcome her traumatic past through patience and routine. I give her lots of treats and mental stimulation, such as finding new items for her to bat around and sit on. We also have chickens, which have a fully fenced backyard so they can roam. I also love spoiling them with watermelon, apples, and mealworms!
“We were excited to find a dog and house sitter in our same neighborhood. Zach sent photos of our dog and was highly responsive and respectful of our home. We will be reaching out in the future for more dog/house sitting. Thank you Zach!”

“Zalie is amazing!! She is my go to sitter. I have a very anxious dog which makes me anxious but when she watches them all my anxiety goes away just knowing she is there and takes such amazing care of them.”

Such a great bubby sitter! Definitely asking him back. Took care of my 17 y/I chaweenie who needs a lot of love and attention. Sent pics and the pics showed shabubas was comfortable with him. Also left my house clean which was very nice. I would definitely recommend him for doggy services. He is now my ol' man's new bestie. 💜

We were lucky enough to book Alex for two weekends in July! Having consistent care for our pup, who struggles with some separation anxiety, was a huge relief. Alex was reliable, attentive, and clearly cared about our dog. We came home to a happy pup and a well-cared-for house. Highly recommend!

Alonzo was so wonderful with our dog. He is a very nice person and we felt comfortable with him at once. He sent pictures and videos and was available to message and responded promptly when we checked in. He took our boy on multiple walks and played a lot of fetch with him. Our dog is shy of new people, and he dealt with that really well. I highly recommend him.

Nora did an outstanding job taking care of my goldendoodle! I had to take an overnight trip unexpectedly and Nora was literally at my door fifteen minutes after I contacted her. She gave Aggie plenty of walks and attention and sent lots of updates with cute photos - I could tell that Aggie was really enjoying herself! Everything was net as a pin when I got home. Terrific job all around and I really appreciated Nora's dedication and professionalism. Would absolutely book again!
Skylar did an amazing job taking care of my bouncy, energetic pup while I was traveling! Aggie loved her right away and I got lots of updates and cute photos, which alleviated all my worries and allowed me to focus on my trip. I came home to happy dog, plus the house looked great and all my flowers had been watered. An awesome petsitting experience. Thank you Skylar!
Tatianya was excellent! It was my first time leaving my fur babies with someone they didn’t know before, bit she made the whole experience wonderful for both them and me. She gave me regular updates throughout the time I was gone, and my pets were very happy and well cared for when I got home. She also left my home spotless, which was a real treat to come home to after vacation. I would highly recommend Tatianya as a house sitter and will absolutely book her again if I need pet care again!

Halley was so wonderful! She stayed with our tripod jazz all day and sent so many photos. She made sure to get him the right amount of exercise and take him on beautiful walks in his stroller. She arrived on time and was so caring. We will definitely hire her again! Jazz approved!

Ezra was the best dog and apartment sitter we could’ve asked for. I didn’t have to worry about my pup because I knew Ezra was taking care of her. She sent photo updates, always responded, and handled complications like a pro. She is lovely, and I will definitely come back to Ezra if I need dog sitting or dog walking again :)

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Alliance walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Alliance maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Alliance choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
