Ready for cuddles & reactivity
I have experience with dogs and cats, young and old, easy and "difficult". I am very adept at walking and caring for reactive dogs who can have a hard time with other dogs and/or humans, and do my best to avoid any situations that can trigger reactive behaviors. I'm also happy to help keep up any training routines, I'm pretty proficient in general dog training, but I know it always comes down to the individual dogs for what works best. I often have people remark about their pets who usually don't warm up to new people immediately taking a liking to me! I'm also totally respectful of animals who do need time to get to know new people and always meet them where they're at, so more than welcome to accommodate those who need more introduction time. I've had dogs in the family my whole life, and have lived with many cats as roommates, and I've loved them all. I've done extensive house sitting everywhere from big cities to rural areas, for periods of time as long as two months, caring for animals as well as the house and surrounding property.

Jacquelyn did a great job looking after Stella, on 4th of July weekend no less. She was super communicative and gave really thorough updates. Stella was in great hands!
I can't recommend Jacquelyn enough! My senior pup was injured just prior to her stay and had to be given medication and be on restricted movement. Jacquelyn asked questions as needed and provided daily updates. The home itself is really calming, which I'm sure Gertie appreciated. Overall great experience.
Jacquelyn was a pleasant and communicative person to work with! She kept me informed with photos and text updates daily, which kept me at ease knowing my pet was safe and happy. They went to the marsh and dunes, which was great because my dog loves it there but I barely have enough time to take him! Will definitely be booking with Jacquelyn again!

Jacquelyn has been walking and dog-sitting my dog Bo consistently for about a year now. She hosts Bo overnight in her home about once a week, periodically for up to 5 nights for longer trips. My dog has behavioral issues including reactivity towards people, cats, and other dogs. I trust Jacquelyn completely to keep him and others safe while making sure Bo gets enough exercise and stimulation. She always sends me updates of Bo on walks at the marsh or sleeping on the couch after a big day out. I would absolutely recommend Jacquelyn as a pet sitter for anyone in need of services!
Jacquelyn was a caring, responsible, and consistent dog walker for my dog Arrow between 2018-2020. Jacquelyn spent time with me to build rapport with my dog before taking on the dog walking position. My dog was particularly difficult when around other dogs, Jacquelyn was great at following strategies to keep everyone safe. I would strongly recommend Jacquelyn to care for pets. She is thoughtful and communicative. My dog benefited from time with Jacquelyn.

Schedule
My schedule is very flexible so I can make sure I have plenty of time to give my full attention to your animal friends, I live in a sweet quiet neighborhood in Arcata near the bottoms that's great for regular walks, and I have a car and am happy to take pups out on more special adventures too!

I always check in about what's best for each dog, and can tailor care around what their usual schedule is with walks and feeding, what kinds of play they like best, and any training routines I can help reinforce during our time together. I make sure to take extra care with reactive dogs and avoid any situations that may trigger them as best as possible.
A typical day
I'm happy to take pups on walks around the neighborhood, and go out on longer trips to the marsh and dunes with doggos that need more action to tire them out. I also love to cuddle up on my big couch and watch tv together!
