We were lucky enough to book Alex for two weekends in July! Having consistent care for our pup, who struggles with some separation anxiety, was a huge relief. Alex was reliable, attentive, and clearly cared about our dog. We came home to a happy pup and a well-cared-for house. Highly recommend!

Skylar was great watching our two large male dogs overnight in our home. She came over to learn our routines and with her background being raised with large dogs, we felt comforted knowing she was familiar ready to handle them. She was great about communicating proactively while she was here, she was respectful of our home. We would recommend Skylar if you are needing a pet sitter while tou are out of town. Thank you Skylar!

Halley did a fine job taking care of our animals. I have not spent any time away from my dog in the 12-ish years I've had her so I was pretty stressed about that. We also have a cat of advanced age, we were worried about her and finally 2 cats who are sneaky and will dart out if you're not paying attention. Happily all 4 animals are happy and unstressed. They were happy to see us of course but overall, they didn't have too much stress. Finally, our home was still neat and clean when we got home. Halley was very conscientious, she left our home as neat as she found it. There was a snafu but Halley managed to deal with it and get on with things. I would be happy to recommend her to others and if we ever need to go out of town again, Halley is who I would ask to care for my home and my animals.

About: I currently own a kitty, pup, and some chickens. I have fostered kittens and trained my dog to do agility, I also grew up doing 4H! I have owned a horse and goats as well so I have experience with farm animals! I love bonding with animals and they’ve always been such an important part of who I am. I promise you I will take the best care of your sweet pets! I am in California temporarily for winter time as I am a College student from another state. I am looking to work whenever/as needed! ! When I have pet sit/house sit in the past, I spend a lot of time bonding with the pets and making them feel safe and not alone. I am flexible when it comes to stopping by to check on them or living in to take care of them. I love giving out treats and playing but of course it’s up to you as to what I’d be allowed to do!

Jolie is excellent, as a person and in her care of animals. She is attentive and sends lots of pictures! She went the extra mile in trying her own kitty carrier by wearing it with my kitten to see if she liked it, and reported back to me, and in the love and thoughtfulness for how my older kitty interacted with my new kitten. I highly recommend her!!

She sent photos and they were always content and happy! I would highly recommend her to watch your pets! Thanks Stari

About: I have been a pet and house sitter for the majority of my life. I truly enjoy spending time with your animals and making sure they are happy and healthy while you are away. This can include anything from daily snuggles on the couch, to walks around the neighborhood, play time in the back yard, or chasing lasers around inside. I have sat for a variety of animals, but prefer to stick with dogs and cats, but if you have other types of pets we can negotiate. I do not do well with giving shots but can handle a medication schedule if needed for senior or special needs animals. I am currently a remote student working on a bachelor's degree. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to be gone from my home so I can come care for yours and your pets. I am trustworthy, quiet, dependable, reliable, and love animals. As I already have pets at home, I do not offer my own in-home care. So, it would be best for me to come to you.

Scott took excellent care of our adorable but stubborn young Yorkie “Milo” while we travelled to England for about 2 weeks. Upon return Milo looked at me as if to ask, “Who are you? You’re vaguely familiar but I can’t quite remember.” But then he burst into squeals of joy, jumping up and down. To us, this kind of greeting when arriving back home is good testimony confirming Milo’s happiness with Scott as his career. Scott emphasized the importance of Milo eating actual doggy food and using his doggy door to go “outside potty” Outside Potty has been a dim concept to Milo until now. Scott swears Milo had no accidents when we were away. The way he sniffs the rush woven containers in the living room make me doubt that some BUT he has been NOTICEABLY better about his potty training these last few days than before the trip. Without leaving full written pet and house instructions for Scott before we left as we should have and intended, Scott did a remarkable job caring for Milo, emphasizing his training and exercise needs and safeguarding our home. Scott is always prompt, fantastically pleasant, clever and appears extremely caring to his charge. He always wears a smile, communicates well and is very easy to deal with. Without hesitation we’d be eager and happy to employ Scott’s services again. We felt our precious dog child was in safe, caring and attentive hands as was our property as well. Finding Rover and Scott has been a super experience for our family.

About: I love all animals, not just cats and dogs;) I have experience with veterinary medicine and I am an apprenticing dog trainer. I am making it my life long goal to truly understand animal behavior and psychology. I am a part time employee with many hours in my day to day life to care for your animals. I have animals of my own and expect the best for them. I ensure to prioritize your pets like they are my own. I care for all pets in a kind, compassionate, and nurturing manner. I believe all pets deserve patience, stability, and consistency from the humans around them. When pets are in my care I ensure these values remain through feeding times and methods, mental enrichment, physical exercise, potty time, and through all interactions spent with pets.

Leigh was absolutely wonderful and I am very confident in recommending her to take care of your furry family members. I recently moved to the area and was very stressed out about finding a new dog sitter. It’s quite a leap of faith to invite someone you don’t know to stay in your home with your pets for the first time. Leigh was very attentive to both of my pups and kept me updated on how they were doing. She also very last minute stayed over an extra night when my flight home got cancelled and still checked in on them the next afternoon when flight delays continuously kept me from getting home. I am very grateful that I found Leigh!

Mia is so wonderful! Our dog Huck typically gets pretty sad when we go out of town, but he instantly fell in love with Mia. We had a meet and greet and we could tell right away she was an animal lover, and Huck knew that too! Mia stayed at our house with Huck while we were away for a long weekend and she not only loved and snuggled him, but our house was spotless upon our return home. We so appreciated her caring for our fur baby and our home while we were away! She sent us photos and we were able to enjoy our time knowing Mia was watching over Huck and taking such good care of him. We will absolutely be using her again in the future!

FAQs for House Sitting - Tyee City

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Tyee City on Rover is $62.16 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 164 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Tyee City. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Tyee City walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Tyee City maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Tyee City choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
