“We took our fearful little guy, Charlie, to Mariah and Neil’s house as a get- to - know- you- while -Mom- and Dad- are present visit. This was a first venture for our doggie Charlie and us, not a traditional dog-sitting event. We really liked Mariah and Neil. We were impressed with their kindness and awareness in dealing with dogs in their home. We felt they were honest in describing Charlie’s expected behavior in first being boarded with them, and we loved that. We know our dog well enough to know that leaving him in a strange new house wouldn’t immediately (particularly for a fearful dog like Charlie) be all roses and chumminess. We did leave him for about 15 minutes alone with Mariah and Neil (“ fearful parents, not so much fearful dog!”) and Charlie reacted just as Neil and Mariah predicted. Their home feels warm and loving. They have two really adorable pups who are obviously loved and well-adjusted. We would recommend Neil and Mariah as carers and will definitely be trying to book them again soon!”

About: I have three pets, two dogs and one cat. I am responsible for feeding them, replacing the pee pads, cleaning up the litter, and walking the dogs. I have had my dogs for over ten years and they have helped me through tough times, and I want to help other dogs who need help whenever the owner is busy. My cat follows me wherever I go and climbs on my shoulders like a parrot, and my dogs come to me when they are scared. I am available every day including holidays (I rather hang out with your pets than be with my family, don't tell them). However, I am a college student. On Mondays, I'll be unavailable from 2:30-8:00 p.m. On Tuesdays, I'll be available by 1:00 p.m. On Wednesdays, I'll be unavailable from 12:30-4:00 p.m. On Thursdays, I'll be unavailable from 10:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. & 6:00-8:00 p.m. From Friday to Sunday, I'm free. I am someone who is emotionally attached to animals, so I will do everything I can to make sure your pet is safe and healthy, such as not letting them go outside by your request, keeping them away from toxic and poisonous foods, and keeping a sharp eye on them to make sure they don't hurt themselves.

About: I have experience with dogs and cats, young and old, easy and "difficult". I am very adept at walking and caring for reactive dogs who can have a hard time with other dogs and/or humans, and do my best to avoid any situations that can trigger reactive behaviors. I'm also happy to help keep up any training routines, I'm pretty proficient in general dog training, but I know it always comes down to the individual dogs for what works best. About: Hi, I’m Virgo (formerly Jeremy)! I’ve been dog sitting my friends’ dogs for about 10yrs, and working for a dog trainer for about 2yrs. (My parents tell me I’ve loved dogs my whole life, but I can only partly confirm.) A few things I like about dog sitting is discovering their personalities and learning how to interprete and anticipate their needs. I’m not intimidated by high-energy/high-intelligence dogs either! About: Dogs have been apart of my life since I was 8 years old. Personally I took care of a Boston terrier and that is the only breed that Ive worked with in my house. Other breeds that I’ve had experience with our my neighbors dogs including different types of Pitbulls and huskies. I am very comfortable with larger dog find them to be huge lovers. I am welcome to any size dog i know I can handle and take care of them based on my personal experience with my own pets and neighbors pets. My neighbors pets have been in my life longer than the Boston terrier that we got as a family dog. My family has now had three Boston terriers throughout my lifetime. I am currently a full-time Cal poly Humboldt student, but I have 1 to 2 hour breaks between most of my classes and I’m free in the evenings for dog walking throughout the day. I am currently moved out of my parents house so I don’t have any pets in my home but I have a fenced off backyard and is spacious living area if they need to stay overnight that is OK. I have plenty of places to walk right outside of my home. In the clients home I would be able to do any pet care that they may require or want such as walking be brushing. About: I own a 7 acre property that is a short drive up Fickle Hill Rd in Arcata! It includes a private trail with access to the community forest and a very large fenced in yard. I have a 1 year old female German Shepherd (Sabine) who is very well trained and LOVES to play with other dogs. I’ve been working with animals my entire life but started officially dog sitting and walking about 10 years ago! I’ve worked with dogs of all sizes and personalities and feel comfortable and confident in my care abilities. Locally I have done in home care both long term and short term. Now that I have this large property I would like to do more of a doggy day care! I am capable of providing training, grooming, as well as daily exercise and enrichment activities! I am free Monday - Thursday every week as I work from home as a ceramic artist. On the weekends (Friday - Sunday) I work as a waitress. I offer care from my home where I have a very large fenced in yard with plenty of space to run around and enjoy the outdoors. As well as a large dog friendly home for those rainy days. All plants and trees on the property are dog safe! I also have a private trail that is connected to the community forest trails where I take Sabine (my dog) for daily walks. About: I've had large dogs since 1997. Currently I have 2 amazing dogs. A 3 legged great burnese, and a 1.2yr old burnese Mt. Dog. They are sweet and wonderful dogs with great manners and are super dog friendly. I also have 2 cats. Rick and Morty. They are a pair. Also very sweet and affectionate once they know you. They are indoor/outdoor 24/7 but avoid dogs. The love of my furry friends reflects who I am. I have 5 acres. This allows my dogs to mostly roam free as they stay close to home. It gives other dogs the opportunity to have a place to run around and play with other good dogs. There are also multiple leads amongst the property, as well as a gated and covered outside area if your pet isn't used to either of those situations. I spend almost all of my days working from home. So other than the occasional errand, I'm home. Otherwise, I exist for you and yours. My pets have water and food at all times. It's under a covered area so they are able to stay in the shade if they like. Otherwise my dogs are free to roam as they generally stay on the property. My property is not fenced. However with this undertaking dogs can be placed in the covered area when needed. They can be leaded if that's what you want. As well they are welcome in the house at any time. Your pets are free to relax anywhere they like. My dogs are very sweet and friendly. My 3 legged dog is not one to get to excited as he only has 3 legs. For the right dogs, my property is a paradise.

About: I am graduating college in May and I love animals and I have house sat a variety of dogs and cats before, and have also taken care of a couple guinea pigs, a bearded dragon, and a pig before. I love to getting to know and taking care of pets! I have loved dogs all my life, my first word was dog! I have owned a dog my whole life and I currently have a dog named Buster who is a 10 year old Jack Russell chihuahua mix who likes to make me carry him while out on a walk. He showed up in a bit of a sorry state but with some visits to the vet, time, and care he has become a happy and playful member of my family. His name is Goosetofur Toast Man, or Goose for short, and I have enjoyed being a cat owner more than I could have imagined! I have been pet sitting since I was in high school and I have watched over 40 different pets. My availability is very open and flexible, I will be available for the majority of the day on most days this summer. I would need to potentially be out for a few hours at a time for things like meetings for a local camp I volunteer at or to run errands. I will enjoy spending time with your pet if they are active and want to go out on long walks or hikes, or if they are a bit of a couch potato I will have a great time curling up with them on the couch. About: Animal lady here. I have four cats, five chickens, and a bearded dragon. I grew up with dogs as well. Two yorkies (brothers) and a schnauzer chow chow mix. I’ve had my fair share of bites and scratches, and am able to work with animals with some behavioral issues no problem. I am responsible and treat each animal as if it's my own. I'd be able to provide the best care, and not just care, but love and compassion as I know when pets are away from their owners, it could be a stressful time. I have reliable transportation and would be able to feed walk and clean up after pets. I’m also familiar with administering oral medications and topical medications. I have experience caring for animals with illnesses. As my previous dog had many breed related issues including diabetes. I also had a very sick cat I helped bring back from severe liver issues by syringe feeding and administering oral medications. I’ve house sat for friends with small animals and even snakes. I’ve cared for chickens before as well. I know animals sometimes have accidents in home as well and I have no problem cleaning up after them and cleaning the space. I have a pretty open schedule at the moment. I have a client on Fridays from 10:30am-1:30pm and Saturdays from 10:30am-2:30p. If you need services during any of these times, my current clients are flexible and always willing to work with me and move things around. I’d be able to care for pets in your home like it was my home. I also have clients I clean for, so a clean living space for people and pets important to me. One of my cats likes to try and eat anything he can get, non edible items especially, so I’m familiar with ‘baby proofing’ and keeping everything out of reach. I’m very aware of my surroundings and will keep a close eye on your pet. I don’t have social media and I’m not constantly distracted by my phone either. About: I have always loved working around pets. I used to work at the pets hotel doggie day camp in Pet Smart. Having a dog of my own, I know what it takes to properly care for them , clean up after them, and take them outside when needed. What sets me apart is I would go the extra mile if needed of course to really ensure that the dogs I am taking care feel comfortable around me and they are excited when I come to the door to take them out for a walk. I am completely available during the week and weekend, full unbridled availability. walking pets would be great for my exercise along with the physical health of the dog of course (or cat). I had a cat and a dog that I regularly care for daily, I have a set time for feeding the dog and cat at 5PM every day, and of course breakfast at 8 AM before that, and I would make sure to have my dog go out back when needed and to clean up after him, and we also have his usually vet appointments as well. For my cat, we fed him three times a day like my dog and clean his litter box and refill it twice a day.

“We took our fearful little guy, Charlie, to Mariah and Neil’s house as a get- to - know- you- while -Mom- and Dad- are present visit. This was a first venture for our doggie Charlie and us, not a traditional dog-sitting event. We really liked Mariah and Neil. We were impressed with their kindness and awareness in dealing with dogs in their home. We felt they were honest in describing Charlie’s expected behavior in first being boarded with them, and we loved that. We know our dog well enough to know that leaving him in a strange new house wouldn’t immediately (particularly for a fearful dog like Charlie) be all roses and chumminess. We did leave him for about 15 minutes alone with Mariah and Neil (“ fearful parents, not so much fearful dog!”) and Charlie reacted just as Neil and Mariah predicted. Their home feels warm and loving. They have two really adorable pups who are obviously loved and well-adjusted. We would recommend Neil and Mariah as carers and will definitely be trying to book them again soon!”
