“Camille did such a wonderful job with our cats! She went above and beyond in taking care of them and made sure they were always fed and played with. I highly recommend Camille as a dedicated, thoughtful, and caring pet sitter!”

“I cannot say enough wonderful things about our sitter Jenna! ❤️ I was away for 8 days while moving my son to college, and knowing Bentley was in such good hands gave me so much peace of mind. She had amazing communication and sent me so many pictures and updates of Bentley throughout my trip. She took him on his walks, gave him his treats, played with him, and spent lots of quality time with him. It was obvious how much she genuinely cared about him—and Bentley absolutely loved her! 🐾❤️ She went above and beyond by even wiping down my counters and keeping me updated on how things were going at my house while I was away. Those little extra touches meant so much to me. Leaving Bentley for 8 days was hard, but she made it so much easier knowing he was happy, and well cared for. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, responsible, and attentive to care for their pets and home. We will definitely be using her again! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Michael was very professional when he came over for a meet and greet and treated the dogs well. His communication after his visit to take care of the dogs was great!”
“Leslie is an amazing person to work with and flexible, she will work with your schedule and be honest on her availability, if you book her you will get quality photos for your album. I will book again with her!!!!”

“Lizz is amazing; she took this booking last minute and had plenty of time to meet Kade twice before the booking to make sure he warmed up to her. She was so nice and patient with Kade and it looks like they had a great time! Thank you!!”

“This is my second time booking with Meredith and I’m so grateful to have such a great sitter close by. My cats were definitely more comfortable this time and I felt relaxed knowing that they were well taken care of. I always love the rover cards but Meredith’s “action shots” are especially nice. I love knowing that my fur babies are having a fun time. Will definitely rebook in the future!”

“Arianna did a lovely job taking care of our four kitties. She was dependable and sent lots of pictures. One of our cats has to be pilled twice a day, and everything went smoothly. I recommend Arianna for cat care for sure!”

“Great service. Well educated on Guinea pigs. Several good photos with each visit. All instructions followed. No one I would trust more with my piggies. Very sweet note left on the last day. Stellar.”

“Skylar was great with our elderly cat Lucky! Lucky usually hides from anyone who isn’t family, but she let Skylar take her picture and even accepted Nulo Treat from her. Skylar was flexible as our schedule changed a little and even helped us navigate the Rover app. I highly recommend her.”

“Willow was prompt, compassionate, caring, and respectful of my home. Sydney took to her right away and was a happy pup when I returned. Willow helped me out in a pinch and I am grateful for that.”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs all my life and they are my favorite! I love every kind of dog and can’t wait to meet your best friend! I am a nanny so my schedule is quite flexible! I do a lot of online work as well which lets me spend lots of time with your pups! I will take care of your dog however you request! I will happily go outside and play fetch or just on a hike. If the dog needs medications or to be crated I will happily meet those needs!!
About: I’ve lived with pets my whole life, and have experience caring for both cats and dogs of varying difficulty levels. I can handle dogs of any size and energy level, having grown up with a very high strung Vizsla and a small rescue. I am gentle, caring and will always do my best to ensure that your pet gets the best care possible. I am currently a student at Western Washington University, so i will have plenty of time in the mornings and evenings to ensure that your pet gets the utmost care. While I don’t have space at home to crate or board your pet, I am happy to take them on walks in the many beautiful parks and forests around Bellingham, or play with them in their home yard or house. I am also always happy to sit and snuggle with your pet to comfort them while you are away.

“Candace is amazing!!! My puppy was a bit of a handful for her while I was away ,but Candace was so professional and updated me on everything! She bonded with both my dogs immediately on the meet and greet. I highly recommend her! I'm definitely going to use her in the future 💛”
About: Hello! My name is Ollie and I am excited to start dog sitting again in bham! I ran my own dog sitting business in my hometown until I moved here for school. I love working with dogs and look forward to meeting the dogs of Bellingham ! I’m currently focusing on dog sitting so I am available all week to look after your pets! I’m hoping to visit as many dogs as I can :) I like to schedule a meet and greet with my clients to get to know you and your pet and learn about your pets needs and routines

About: I have owned and taken care of pets since I was a little kid, ranging from mini Australian shepherds to retrievers, labs and German shepherds. This means I have experience training young puppies and taking care of senior dogs. I also have experience with taking dogs on runs (since I love to run), which helps with high-energy dogs. I love dogs and am more than happy to help other people with pet care since I know finding the right person for the job can be difficult. :) I’m a teacher so this summer I’m earning some extra cash by nannying and dogsitting. I’m available 4-5 days a week including the weekends (and have no problem helping in the early mornings and late nights), so my schedule is pretty flexible and I’m very willing to fit multiple in-house visits and dog walking/running into my routine. I care for pets in my clients’ homes so I am skilled in giving all pets the attention they need both inside and outside the home, including playing with them, taking them on walks and runs, or just sitting down and keeping them company depending on the age and needs they require. I take pride in fulfilling all pets’ routines and owners’ expectations.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs of all sizes and temperaments since I was 13. I have experience in petsitting through family, friends and neighbors. Animals have always been in my life and their needs adjust my daily life. I’m currently a university student who is studying computer science. So a lot of my homework/ assignments are done on a computer meaning I’m home for most of the day! I have lots of extra time to interact/ have fun with a pet at home :) Walking: I provide long and stimulating walks with lots of sniffing, playing and exercise. Drop ins: I really enjoy these! I love greeting dogs and providing them with the mental/ physical stimulation they need for the day! ( I have lots of ideas prepared everyone’s different personality/size/activity) Boarding/ sitting: not available right now
“Stone was terrific!! The dogs immediately loved her from the first time they met her. We never worried about them in her care. She even took them for walks! She went above and beyond. We will definitely have her back again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Agate Bay
I really appreciated that Jordis was able to take care of my two cats for a very last minute trip. She was flexible and communicative, and was able to meet the same day for the meet and greet/keys exchange. She was great with giving my senior cat topical meds twice a day, feeding the cats, and taking care of the litter box. However, I did not hear from her about how the cats were doing or get any confirmation that she had visited until I checked in with her on the last day of my 3 day trip.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
