“Maddy was a fantastic house/cat sitter for our two cuties. Her communication is excellent, she carefully followed our sort of OTT directions for feeding and we returned home to happy kitties and a sparkling house. Thank you, Maddy!”

“Skyler is top notch. Right from the start, communication was great. Unfortunately my dog decided to be a big jack@$$. He acted up right as I was packing to leave but petting on my bed. He ended up nipping Skylar and being a grumpface, making her job more difficult. She handled it like a pro and even given the option to finish the stay, with minor adjustments she gladly continued. I very much appreciated her commitment. 5 stars from me!”

“Philip is seriously the most ideal dog sitter. Knows how to manage dogs behaviors and communicates well. I seriously feel so lucky to have found him. We have a high energy dog and it felt so nice to have someone who knew how to entertain and also love our dogs so well. Thank you Philip!”

“When Jeffery came over to meet us and our dogs for the first time, we immediately knew that we could fully trust him. Our dogs could be handful but we knew Jeffery can handle them in calm and warm way. One of our dogs had a big surgery and needed to be supervised, so we asked Jeffery to watch him and other dog while we’re gone for a day trip. When we came back, dogs looked so relaxed and they were acting like they knew him for a long time. We felt so relieved to have someone reliable staying home with our pups.”

“Angela took great care of our animals while we were gone for over a week. She handled daily medications for our cats. The house looked great when we got back and the dogs and cats were clearly well take care of. We would definitely like for her to come stay with them again!”

“Willow did a fantastic job staying in my home with my Ziggy. She had clear and quick communication. She left the house very tidy and Ziggy enjoyed his time with her. Thank you Willow!”

About: I've been an animal person my whole life; from originally wanting to be a vet (decided to pivot due to the sadness that probably comes from being a vet) to caring for pets of my own. I've always felt I've been able to understand animals better than most people. I think it stems from my ability to innately understand their non-verbal communication. Hence, the Dolittle reference. A typical day in my home is calm, comfortable, and centered around the pet’s normal routine. I make sure they’re fed on schedule, have fresh water, a clean space, plenty of attention, and time to play or relax depending on their personality. I’m happy to follow any specific routines you have at home so your pet feels as comfortable and familiar as possible. I care for pets by following their normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, fresh water, litter box or potty breaks, playtime, and any special instructions from their owner. I also pay close attention to their behavior and comfort level, giving them plenty of affection when they want it and space when they need it.
“Charles was beyond amazing with my animals! Super accommodating and followed directions well. Maven is a stranger reactive dog and quickly got along well with Charles after a rough first few seconds of introduction. He took such good care of my house in addition to two dogs and two cats.”

“Shayla was very sweet with our kids, especially with our very senior Lady Ume. She kept us updated texting and with photos. Shayla was respectful of our home and we returned home to a clean and tidy house. We have already reserved Shayla for a second visit.”

“Daryia is the sweetest person ever!! She was amazing with our sweet dog and took such good care of him. Our dog is older and has a few heath issues and Daryia put so much thought and care into making sure he was okay. I can’t recommend Daryia enough!!”

“Lauren was great with our cat and rambunctious husky/shepherd mix. She sent us lots of pics of our happy pets. Knowing our pets were in such good hands makes going out of town feel so much easier.”

About: As a lifelong pet owner and animal lover, I truly understand how much trust it takes to leave your pets in someone else's care. I've personally raised and cared for animals since I was a kid. These pets have included cockatiels, lizards, dogs and cats of all ages. This experience gives me knowledge in order to provide age-specific care, whether that means longer walk/ play time or gentle attention and medication support for seniors. I am flexible with my schedule due to a work from home schedule. This means more time to play and care for your pups! I am availability typically Monday- Thursday but will update my Rover calendar as frequently as possible to reflect an accurate schedule. I like to send a lot of photos and videos in order to keep you updated and feel at ease (Unless you ask me not to!) One thing that really helps things go smoothly is a detailed schedule & notes (written or typed) for your pet if they have any. Please let me know if there’s anything else I can do to keep your pup safe and happy.

“Kami stayed with our dog, Chase, for a few days while my wife and I flew across the country for a wedding. Before the stay, she met us for a meet and greet with Chase and was”

“Meagan was fantastic with our two cats! She left our cats and house in fantastic condition after her week long stay with them. She was quick to respond and sent lots of pics as requested. She was great about communicating any question or requests.”

“Zoe was great! She filled in a last minute booking after our pet sitter cancelled. Above and beyond in pet care as well as leaving our space better than when we left! The animals loved her and we definitely would have her back!”

“Kalani took great care of our 2 dogs, one of whom has diabetes and requires insulin shots 2x per day. I feel very confident that she knows what she's doing, with her vet tech background, and that our girl is in good hands with her. She was communicative and even sent a video of one of my pups "singing" along to music! I am rebooking her for a 10-day job and feel very comfortable having her in our home and taking care of our fur babies for that length of time.”
The median cost per night for house sitting in Agate Bay is $50
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Agate Bay
Don is the nicest and most thoughtful sitter. We trust him in our home with our fur babies! It’s really a relief to have him be our recurring sitter when we have to go out of town. When we come home the dogs are happy to see us but not overly so, which we understand to mean that they were well cared for.

We just had Philip watch our three dogs for the second time and he was wonderful. He provided pictures and updates, which I love to get. When we returned, he had watered all of my outdoor gardens and the dogs were happy and relaxed. Yay! Definitely would ask Philip to take care of our pups again.

We had a great experience working with Jordis. She was great with the dogs (two St Bernards and one who needs multiple eye drops daily), a good communicator, and was respectful of our home. She accommodated a fairly last minute request for care around the 4th of July and was flexible at we delayed our departure bc of an issue with our home. We'd be happy to work with Jordis again.

Ariel did an amazing job watching my high energy pup! She took her out on several adventures and was an excellent commucator. I really appreciated all the pup pupdates! She also left the place cleaner than it had been :) I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for some pet sitting and would/likely will book her again. It's always great returning to a happy and tired pup :)

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 679 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Agate Bay. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Agate Bay walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Agate Bay maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Agate Bay choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
