“Katie is one of the sweetest and efficient cat lovers that have ever watched my two goofballs. She was so kind and professional. She sent regular updates with a checklist to let me know she got all the water bowls, food bowls and litter refilled and cleaned. She sent a cute briefing on her time looking for my cats too. When I got home the house and cat areas were left perfect and she even brought in the mail and packages. Definitely my new person.❤”

“Kristin looked after my 2 dogs for a long weekend and did an amazing job!! The pups had the best time and absolutely loved her! They love playing ball and she made sure to throw the ball with them at every drop in visit. She also gave them lots of pets and snuggles. She updated me about everything and sent the cutest photos at each visit. One of my pups needed an antibiotic and she did great administering her medication. Kristin took the best care of my babies and I will definitely call her again next time I need a pet sitter!”

“Abby is professional, responsive, and really loves animals. I am so glad we found her on Rover. She cared for our two aging dogs and made sure they were safe and fed while we were out of town. I recommend her to anyone looking for a pet sitter.”

“Highly recommend! We use Nicole for regular drop in visits and she is wonderful! Always prompt, very accommodating and flexible, professional, and of course great with my pup!”

“Briana was wonderful with our kitties! She stayed the full time, played with them, opened the window so they could birdwatch, and kept up on their food, water, and litter. She always asked before making any changes (different time, needing to bring her daughter, etc). Would definitely book her again!”

About: Hi! I’m a fun, energetic, and compassionate animal lover who treats every dog like my own. I understand that when you trust someone with your pet, you’re trusting them with family, and I take that responsibility seriously. I’m dependable and attentive to each dog’s unique personality and needs. Whether your pup loves long, energetic walks or prefers a slower pace with lots of sniff breaks, I tailor every walk to keep them safe, happy, and engaged. What sets me apart is the balance of energy and responsibility. I bring positive energy to every visit, but I also prioritize safety, communication, and consistency. I’m comfortable caring for puppies still learning leash manners and senior dogs who need patience and a gentler approach. You’ll always receive updates and photos, so you can feel confident and connected while you’re away. My goal is simple: happy tails, safe walks, and peace of mind for you. I can’t wait to meet your fur baby! 🐶💕 Pet care is something I truly enjoy and prioritize. I work full-time during the week, which allows me to dedicate focused time on weekends to dog walking and drop-in visits. I also offer boarding for one dog at a time, so each pup receives calm, personalized attention in a safe environment. Whether it’s weekend walks, overnight boarding, or pet sitting support, I’m committed to dependable, loving care. Your furbaby’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. As a devoted dog mom, I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else’s care, and I take that responsibility seriously. I carefully follow your instructions and keep routines consistent, so your pup feels secure, relaxed, and loved. For walks and drop-ins, I use secure leashing, stay fully attentive, and remain aware of our surroundings at all times. I avoid busy or unsafe areas and adjust each walk based on your dog’s age, personality, energy level, and even the weather. Some dogs love a power walk, others love sniff breaks. I’m happy to match their vibe! For boarding, I intentionally host only one dog at a time so your furbaby receives calm, personalized attention in a clean, safe, and pet-friendly home. I provide plenty of affection, supervision, and updates (with photos!) so you always feel connected and confident. With 17 years of experience as a loving dog mom, I understand that communication, patience, and kindness matter just as much as exercise and routine. I treat every dog like family because to me, they are.
“Ashley was amazing!!!! Took such sweet care of my fur babes while we were away and kept us updated every step of the way. She was understanding of our cats needs and took every note about their wildly different personalities while attending to them. 10/10!! Thank you Ashley 💕”

About: I love love love DOGS, actually ALL animals. I have a very happy and spoiled fur baby. I’ve had dogs all my life along with turtles, a cat, Guinea pigs, and a ferret (coolest and most fun!) I have plenty of experience with senior dogs and administering medications and injections. I’m here to assist you and provide the best care to your pet while you’re away. I work from home so I’ll have plenty of time to love them, play with them, provide walks and potty breaks and whatever else they need. I will provide the best care and will love on your fur babies. Give me a chance and I promise you that you won’t be disappointed! I give plenty of love, belly rubs. care and attention. I like to ask about their normal every day schedule and what they’re used to so I can stick to the same as much as possible. I’m very protective with my dog and will make sure your pets are always safe. I can take up to 3 dogs but only if I’m confident that they would get along with each other. If you prefer that your baby only has one on one time, then let me know. I will send pictures and videos of your fur baby to let you know how they’re doing. I understand that as long as you know they are being cared for, you can enjoy your vacation without worry. My fur baby, Buddy is very friendly and likes to play but he does enjoy his sleep in his senior years. If he won’t play then I will step in. I like to think that when you’re on vacation so are they so you want them to have a good time also!
“Highly recommend! Daniela watched our three dogs over the weekend and was fantastic. She's professional, friendly, and sent us tons of pictures and detailed updates after every visit. It’s rare to find someone so attentive to a multi-dog household. Five stars!”

“Julia did a fantastic job of taking care of my 2 wild dogs while I was gone! I loved getting the updates and the cute pics of them during her visits. They were in good hands. I would absolutely recommend her and book her again!”

About: I have had experience with dogs since I was very young, and I currently have two dogs that I raised from puppies. They are complete opposites from each other in size and temperament and have very different needs, so I feel confident caring for different dogs that may have different needs. Whether you need someone to swing by and give your pup a nice walk, or someone reliable to drop in and let them out, feed them, or just play with your dog while you’re out, I’d love to be that person for you and your dog! I currently work another job 4 days a week, and have the other 3 off. I’m available Sunday, Tuesday & Wednesday 11am- 4:30pm. I have a 6 year old daughter that I pick up from school at 6:30pm so I just want to make sure I have enough time to get back to pick her up also ☺️ I currently have our two dogs crate trained, so I feel comfortable crating your dog/s if needed. I can feed, play, give medicine (if needed) and walk your dog at your home. I would prefer to do a meet and greet with all owners and dogs before hand, so a new person coming into there home isn’t a surprise to the dog and also just to make sure it’s a good match for everyone involved ☺️
“We were really pleased with Yolinette this weekend. George loves her! She took great care of him and kept us updated with texts and pictures. She was attentive and reliable. We will definitely use Yolinette again! Thank you so much!”
About: I was raised with animals so they are my sweet spot. Rather you have a cuddler or a high-energy zoomer I make my space convenient for them. As a veteran and healthcare professional. I provide notes on my time with your pet no matter how big or small. The goal is for me to not only communicate that he/she is okay but to also communicate their emotional state. Rather requested or not, I provide photos so that you can view how your pet appeared throughout our time together and also see any adventures we may have taken. If you have ANY special requests to make regarding your pets potential time with me that creates a stress free environment for them and you please feel free to ask prior to or during booking. I am a Type A sitter! *while I accept dogs who are not spayed/neutered, I do not accept dogs while they are actively in heat* I am an army veteran and student who has plenty of time to be hands-on with your baby. I treat any animal care job as a clock-in job and remain dedicated during those timeslots. I live in a townhome and have a fenced in playground where animals can run free. I reserve the playground to ensure that your baby, my two (toy poodle and mini schnauzer) are the only ones there. I have walking trails all around me and utilize that as a way for exploration and exercise.

About: I treat every pet like family and make their comfort, safety, and happiness my top priorities. I’m dependable, caring, and attentive to each pet’s individual needs and routine. I’ll give your pets plenty of love, attention, and patience while keeping you updated so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. I am currently not working. I have a very open schedule. I love dogs and cats and what better thing to do than hangout with animals. I have a dog of my own too so I have lots of experience. I care for pets in the comfort and safety of their own home, where they feel most comfortable and secure. During drop-in visits and in-home pet sitting, I follow their usual routines for feeding, walks, playtime, potty breaks, and medication when needed. I keep a close eye on their well-being, give them plenty of attention and affection, and make sure their home is left clean and secure. I also follow each pet parent’s instructions carefully and provide updates so you can feel confident your pets are safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away.

About: I’m a retired special educator with a lifelong love for dogs, and I bring the same patience, reliability, and attentiveness to pet care that I did to my years in the classroom. I’ve worked with big dogs, tiny puppies, and dogs with different abilities — including my most recent dog, who was a tripod — so I’m very comfortable adapting to each pup’s unique needs and personality. Over the years, I’ve also worked closely with multiple trainers for my own dogs, which has given me a solid understanding of basic training techniques, positive reinforcement, and how to support good habits. Whether your dog needs a calm, steady presence, an experienced handler, or someone who understands how to support mobility or behavioral differences, I’m here to make sure they feel safe, understood, and genuinely cared for. I treat every dog as if they were my own, and I take pride in being responsible, communicative, and fully dedicated to their comfort and wellbeing. Your pet’s safety, happiness, and routine will always be my top priority. I am a recently retired (but still young!) special educator so I am extremely flexible these days. I’ll keep my calendar up to date for availability. If I am in town, I can often take last minute requests. When I’m in your home, I treat it with the same care and respect as my own. I follow all instructions carefully and can handle essential tasks such as administering oral medications, feeding, checking mail, and watering plants. You can count on me to be responsible, attentive, and dependable.
“Chloe took care of our cat, Leonard while we were out of town and did a great job! Showed up on time, followed all his needs, took pics and great communication. Would highly recommend!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Woodhaven Downs
Sydney and Yoonho are the best! They take such great care of our babies and are always super responsive, which really puts us at ease whenever we have to leave them. Our cat Mabel is usually shy and nervous around strangers, but she actually comes out to see them. ❤️

We are so happy we have Emily to care for our animal kids. She is consistently on time and always updates us through messaging. We have used family and friends and they don’t spend the time time walking, feeding, giving meds and playing with our animals every time they stop by. Spending money to have Emily is worth every cent!!!! She is also just a good soul and it feels nice to pay someone who takes their job seriously.

Chelsea has been our go to doggie sitter for the past year or two. Hope absolutely loves her and I love her thorough messages. Recently I had to book a different sitter because Chelsea was traveling at the same time as me and let's just say the other sitter wasn't as thorough with her updates.

Johanna was an amazing sitter for our sweet cat. He was taken care of so well and it was so nice being able to not worry while being out of town. She sent pictures every day and updated us with everything we needed to know. She was punctual and always came at the same time everyday and was always available to chat if I had a question. 10/10 would recommend and will be using her again this next weekend!

We couldn’t be happier with the care and attention Sadie receives from Enjoli. She is professional, reliable, and caring. She always arrived on time, provides updates and photos during walks, and treated our Sadie with the love she deserves! We highly recommend Enjoli to care for your pets!

Yolinette was wonderful. This was our first time using Roover and Yolinette. She has great communication skills, asked questions and didn’t assume. Made us feel comfortable in knowing our dog was well taken care of. She spent good quality time while we were away. We’ll definitely use her again.

Peyton was absolutely awesome. She took excellent care of Browny while I was away and followed all of the instructions perfectly. She made sure he was fed, well cared for, and even cleaned his paws after each visit, which I truly appreciated. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing Brownie was in such good hands. I would absolutely recommend Peyton and would gladly book her again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
