About: I have grown up taking care of family dogs and cats since I was 10. I have experience in the care of dogs and cats varying in size, age and breed. I have experience in training puppies and other young dogs. Neighbors, friends and family have relied on me to walk and feed their pets as well as watch them while they are away. I have previously volunteered at an animal shelter. I have experience in giving oral medication to my own animals and am comfortable doing that as needed. About: I changed the direction my life was going and found the REASON was Animal Care. I began volunteering at 2 local Humane Societies in 2013. Very shortly thereafter became employed at both Societies = working 7 days a week with animals. I adopted my first 2 pets (torti cats named Cali & Ava) in the Fall of 2013. Adopted a 3rd torti cat in the Spring of 2014 (named Hallie B). I adopted a chihuahua in the Fall of 2016 (named Clara my grandmother’s name). With the exception of Hallie B they have all crossed the Rainbow Bridge. The 1st in December 2020 then June 2021 and most recently in May of 2025 :-( 🐾🐾🐾 They were adopted as Seniors. They were the best. After 4 years of Humane Society work I changed direction again in 2017 to a more professional aspect of Animal Care becoming employed at a Veterinary Hospital as a Kennel Attendant for over 7 years. I have performed a number of cat drop-ins around the Gloucester area for various residents affiliated with the Humane Society. One such assignment lasted for almost two months while the cat’s owners traveled to Florida for the winter. I currently work (outside of Animal Care) 40 hours WEDNESDAY afternoon thru SATURDAY night. Those days I am usually available for Animal Care from 7am to 12pm. Sunday thru Tuesday I am totally available. There is some flexibility with my full time work and the possibility of a little accommodation for Animal Care. I also have to spare some time for my own cat’s care. About: Ive had dogs just about all my life. I currently have a dog. He's an offleash dog so I am very familiar with training dogs to listen, using the bathroom outside, I also give baths. Walking for at least 30minute or until the pup gets tired. Go out first thing in the morning, Go out right after work, Replenish food bowl every morning, Fresh water every morning, Let them run around the backyard and get some sun every 2-4 hrs for 30m each. Bathe pup on Sunday. Fresh water daily, healthy food flow, safe and cozy place to lay, regular bathroom breaks, outside playtime, If bathed , allow them to air dry.
