“Much appreciation for the evening visits George made to our beagle pup Saturday evening. Husband and I could relax and go into the city last minute and know our pup was being let outside to run around and not feel neglected. We appreciated the photos and note letting us know the pup was exercised and content. We also appreciated the pre-visit to meet the pup and get the lay of our home.”

“Mary is always amazing. We love having her watch our fur babies. Even after some time away, they absolutely remembered her and were so excited to see her! Would highly recommend Mary to anyone🥰”

“Jessica was the perfect person to check in on my cat. First, she responded quickly and courteously to all my communications. Second, she took wonderful care of Bruce following all the instructions I left. She completed the checks on time and created nice reports with pictures and descriptions of how Bruce was doing. My mind was at ease and I was able to relax and enjoy my vacation knowing Jessica was taking care of Bruce…definitely recommend booking her services!”

“Melanie was excellent! She was reliable and kept me up to date on when she was planning to arrive and after she completed her visit. I will definitely use her again in the future.”

“Happy repeat customer! Kassandra is amazing, incredibly responsible, and goes out of her way to do extra tasks that are not required but very much appreciated. My skittish kitties now recognize her, which is a huge relief for my family. We already have her booked for our next trip. Thank you again, Kassandra!”

“Stephanie very clearly cares about the animals she looks after and it is easy to see she has their best interest at heart. She also is able to read the personalities of different animals and caters her care to each specific animal. I am so glad she is around and will definitely call her again!”
“She did a great job with my dogs Sutton and Chaz for weekend drop-ins! I honestly don’t know how she managed to walk both of them together, because Sutton can be a terrible walker, but I came home to two very happy dogs. Everything was taken care of, and it was such a relief knowing they were in good hands. I’d definitely recommend her!”

It was clear that she genuinely cared about our cat’s well-being and treated him like one of her own. Knowing our cat was in such capable, loving hands allowed us to truly relax on our trip. “This was my first time using Rover as a client. This was my first time using Sarah. Sarah did a great job of taking care of everything. She had a lot of items to check for functionality. Sarah did an exceptional job in dealing with my daily changes that occurred as I had to find the perfect routine for my outdoor cats. Some things went off line but she went with the flow and was able to transition nicely with the issues. I hope she will sit for me again if asked”

About: I've taken care of dogs of many breeds ever since I was a little girl. I took care of feeding, exercising, and bathing our dogs for my family. I also work as a kennel tech at autumn green hospital where I take care of pets daily including bathing, feeding , playing with and giving medication. I currently work as a kennel tech, and my schedule is kind of all over the place. However, I can bring your pet to work with me after they are reviewed by my boss to make sure they pass their rabies and fecal tests. I’m available Saturday mornings until 1 PM and am free all day on Sundays! I will update this note on a month-to-month basis depending on my schedule. If I were in your home, I would let your pet warm up to me first. Then, I would make sure they have clean water and food, follow any instructions you have for me, and give them lots of cuddles and love to keep them happy.

“Megan was absolutely fantastic! She went above and beyond in caring for our cats and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. She was communicative, thoughtful, and clearly cared about making sure everything was perfect. It's obvious she genuinely loves animals, and they loved her right back. We came home to happy cats and a well-cared-for home, which means the world to us. I wouldn't hesitate to book Megan again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and exceptional sitter. Thank you, Megan, for everything!”

“Katie was great! She's a great communicator and kept us up to date on the visit. She asked questions as needed and was very thorough following our instructions. We will definitely use her again!”

About: Animals have always been at the center of my life. I grew up on a farm, caring for dogs, cats, goats, sheep, and chickens, so reading animal behavior, staying calm under pressure and knowing when somethings off comes naturally to me. Over the years, I’ve trained my own dogs, worked with rescue animals, and volunteered with KARE, where I help rehabilitate, both wild and domestic animals. That experience has taught me how to handle pets of all temperament and backgrounds, including those who were shy, anxious, or still learning the ropes. I personally cared for dogs, cats, ferrets, chinchillas, sugar, gliders, hedgehogs, snakes, fish, turtles, parrots, and a wide variety of reptiles, so chances are, I’ve worked with a pet like yours before! I bring patience and consistency to every interaction, whether it’s a quick drop in or a longer house sit. What sets me apart is that I don’t just love animals, I understand them. Your pet isn’t just a booking to me, they’re a living creature who deserves calm, attentive care from someone who genuinely knows what they’re doing. i’m generally available weekday mornings, weekday evenings, and weekends. My schedule varies week to week, so I keep my calendar updated in real time. If you don’t see any availability that works, feel free to reach out as my schedule sometimes opens up with short notice! when I’m in your home, my priority is keeping your pet safe and as close to their normal routine as possible. I follow your KARE instructions closely, do a quick safety check on arrival, and reach out immediately if anything seems off. You’ll get photo updates every visit so you can see your pet is happy and well cared for.
About: I know how important my dog's well-being and daily routine is to me, and I would love to help keep your dog in their routine! I have experience caring for and training dogs of all types, and will cater to senior dogs, medical needs, or special needs such as sensitive, selective, or reactive dogs. In my spare time I volunteer with my therapy dog Reese, and have experience fostering and training dogs using positive reinforcement. I know how hard it is to be away from your pet but I can assure a safe and successful walk, sit, or stay! I am a teacher, and currently available full time for animal care! Available on weekdays, for stop-ins during the work day, or over holiday weekends. In your home, I can offer lots of your dog's favorite exercise for every season. Depending on their activity level, we can take walks, runs, or just breaks/sniffs. I always clean up after dogs and demonstrate responsible dog ownership in your neighborhood! For stays at my house: the yard is huge, and backs to forest preserve property and pond, but the yard is unfenced so I am diligent about leashes.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
