“Carson has been so much help while I've recuperated from a broken ankle. They've been great with our two big dogs, who have enjoyed many walks when there would have been none. The dogs love them and become extremely excited and come home tired and happy.”

“Jamie was amazing with our senior cat!! She was patient and understanding and earned her trust quickly 🙂 she also sent lots of pictures and updates which we really appreciated!! We’d definitely recommend her!!”

“Madeline is an outstanding cat sitter! She took such great care of my two cats and followed all of my instructions perfectly. She was always punctual and made sure they had their wet food, refilled their dry food and water, played with them, and kept everything clean—including the litter box. She even vacuumed the floor since my dad has allergies, which I truly appreciated. I’m so glad I found her here—she’s easily the best pet sitter you could ask for. I highly recommend booking her right away. She’s absolutely wonderful!”

“Doreen is the best, even our super shy cat loves her! I was able to enjoy my vacation knowing that she was in great hands. The updates with each visit and pictures really gave me peace of mind. All instructions were followed for feeding and care and most importantly lots of pets :) Thank you so much Doreen!!”

“Jessica and Luis were amazing with our 2 Australian Shepherds! They did numerous drops in while we were on vacation and handled walking, play time, snuggles and meal times. We were given a detailed pet intake form to fill out so they could learn about our dogs and their routines and any house rules. They were very friendly and handled all our requests. We were happy our dogs got to stay home and keep up with their routine and Jessica and Luis sent us lots of photos and videos throughout the day. They gave us peace of mind and we would absolutely use them again.”

“Scott took amazing care of my girl who needs extra help getting around. He was very attentive and sent detailed updates along with photos after each drop-in. My dog had a lot of fun with Scott and she seemed very comfortable and relaxed around him. Highly recommend him!”
About: About us: I stumbled onto Rover in August 2022 after trying to think of ways to make a little extra money while working at home, full-time, and with 3 kids (approaching middle and high school) that have wanted a dog since probably before they were born. I grew up with dogs and wanted a dog too! But I also didn’t want the vet visits, food expenses…what do we do with a dog when we want to travel? Fast forward to now and dog-sitting has been a truly epic, awesome experience for all of us. By the time you read this it’s likely we will have reached triple digits of dogs that have stayed here. My kids get to learn about ALL different kinds of dogs which has turned them into lifelong dog lovers. I get the companionship I’m looking for while having a flexible hybrid work schedule. And when you choose us your dog becomes part of our pack, and given the very best care 24/7. I am fully aware that your dog is a member of your family and I truly appreciate your trust in selecting us to care for them. I believe strongly in supporting and giving back to the community, so in addition to fostering dogs we also give a portion of my Rover income back to the local animal shelter. Win-win! What it’s like here: We have a huge fenced-in yard with a horse farm behind us so lots of interesting sights, sounds and smells for your doggie to experience. Many like to hang out on the deck and watch the horses behind our home. Your dog will come home relaxed and happy. Many repeat clients tell me their dogs get excited as soon as they turn onto our street for the next visit because they have happy memories of their last stay. We can hang out with your pooch for doggie day care, overnight, weekend visits, short-term (1-2 weeks), and long-term stays (>2 weeks). We will follow your instructions to a T. Is your dog allowed on your couch? Sure, us too! Does your dog sleep with you? Okay, we can do that! No crate? Sounds great! We want them to enjoy themselves as much as we enjoy having them here. They are truly our guest. It's amazing how quickly the dogs adapt and become part of the family. I’ve cared for dogs that require oral and injected medication, senior dogs, dogs with anxiety, and dogs with diapers. YOUR dog is most welcome. I love figuring out what makes them feel safe and comfortable. Did you know? When searching for a sitter check if the review is flagged "verified stay". Anyone can write a review so only the ones that are flagged this way are legitimate Rover stays!

“We had the pleasure of working with Erika for the first time. She arrived early, communicated well and ensured our dogs were well fed, active and comfortable. We appreciated the updates and photos. I highly recommend Erika for anyone looking for a responsible and caring sitter!”

About: I grew up taking care of my 2 collies and helping out with family members pets. I am experienced with managing large breeds and high energy dogs. I am currently on summer break from university, so I have a lot more free time. I am available on weekdays after 11 and weekends I have full availability. Safety is my top priority. I treat every pet as my own, maintaining a calm, clean, and safe environment. Ahead of time, I ask about any triggers your pet may have and make sure we walk in comfortable environments.
About: I’ve been a dog sitter since I was young. I’ve also cat sat for several family members before. I love working with cats, dogs, and any other creatures! I have a lot of experience administering almost any kind of medication, from administering fluids to oral meds to transdermal meds. No ask is too much for me! I work Monday-Friday eight to four. So I will work around that. I am also free all weekends. I will even do house stays if needed. I will treat your house as my own. I will leave it the way that you left it. I will also do anything that makes you feel more comfortable with me being in your house
“Amy continues to be a delight caring for Birdie with drop-in visits. We feel so confident leaving her in Amy’s hands. She’s flexible, friendly, and respectful of our home, Once again, thank you!”

About: I love animals. I used to have three Shar Peis, which can be fairly temperamental, but I think I was their favorite walker. I've walked dogs with Wag for years and have cared for dogs ranging from tiny pups to large Anatolian Shepherds. I work from home most days, so having a dog or two in the house is not an issue. And, i don't mind sitting at other folks' homes, if the dogs are more comfortable in their own environment. I've recently fenced our backyard with a 6 foot privacy fence, so that visiting dogs will be secure during off-leash play. I live in a quiet neighborhood and there is a large park down the street, so walks can be quite lengthy, if the dog is up for it. I have a few chickens in a coop / run in the backyard. The app asks about my pets but then when I said ‘yes’ only allowed me to pick either ‘dog’ or ‘cat’ - and I couldn’t list birds so I couldn’t update it. 😕. Apparently Rover thinks there are only two kinds of animals??? Visits to the backyard are always supervised to keep everyone safe.
“Great communication. I tried to contact 3 other providers and Valerie was the only one who responded. And she responded within an hour or two. Would definitely use her again.”

“Heather took really good care of my cats while I was away for a few days. She sent great pictures and updates, so I knew each day how they were doing. I would definitely book with Heather again!”

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs for the last 7-8 years for my family, friends, and neighbors. They have trusted me with walking, feeding, and overall loving their furry friends! When my family first got our dog in 2020, I assisted in training him and learning how to take care of a puppy. I have also helped to take care of my roommates pet dog and cat in these last few months as well! During the summer of 2024, my dog suddenly went paralyzed and lost function of his back legs. We had to learn how to take care of him and walk him using unconventional ways, while teaching him how to learn to walk again, so I have experience with a dog who has been partially disabled (but he has regained his ability to walk and is doing great!!) I recently graduated from Miami University, Ohio with my masters degree in speech-language pathology. I just moved back to Illinois and am looking to do some dog walking and pet care/love this summer before starting a new job in the schools this upcoming August as a speech-language pathologist. I will adhere to any requests that the client has. I am willing to put them in their crates, give them treats, play with them in the yard, or go for a nice long walk with them. It really comes down to the clients preference and I will stick to their normal routine!!

“Morgan did an awesome job taking care of my 4 cats. She dropped in every day in the scheduled timeframe and ensured the cats were fed, their boxes cleaned and spent time with them. She even cleaned when one of the kitties threw up.”

“Zach did a fantastic job! I booked him to clean out for very dirty litter boxes and replace them with fresh letter. I was very impressed with his ability to get right to the work at hand, get the job done, and leave everything looking great. He was so fast, he had time to tackle one of two of the cats water fountains, which were also overdue for cleaning and refilling. My kitties will love that their favorite fountain is working again. Next time, he’ll tackle the other fountain and I have no doubt that that will be done efficiently as well. Thank you, Zach! Nice to meet you, and you’ll be number one on my call”

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Williamsburg Green. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
