“Stephanie was fantastic! Updated us often and kept our home clean. She even went out of her way to let our pup out after her checkout time due to delays in our travel. Would definitely book with her again!”

About: Grew up with dogs and have many years of hands-on experience caring for them in everyday life, including feeding, walking, basic training, and understanding different breeds, temperaments, and energy levels. I’m confident handling both calm and active dogs and adjusting to their individual needs. I now also own two cats, which has given me additional experience with feline behavior, routines, and creating a safe, stress-free environment. I’m comfortable caring for both dogs and cats and treat every animal with patience, responsibility, and genuine care. My schedule is very flexible, and I’m available for pet care throughout the day, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and on short notice when needed. I can’t take pets into my own home because I have two cats, but I’m very happy to stay at the client’s home and provide care there. I make sure pets feel comfortable, safe, and keep their normal routine while you’re away.
“We couldn’t be happier with Zoe’s incredible care for our baby doggie, Caramel, while we were away on a family trip to Hawaii! From the moment we left, we knew Caramel was in the best hands. Zoe treated her like royalty, giving her so much love and snuggles that it almost made us jealous! We especially appreciated the regular updates, complete with photos of Caramel’s adorable antics and health check-ins. It brought us so much peace of mind knowing our sweet girl was happy and thriving while we were away. Zoe went above and beyond in every way, and we can’t recommend her highly enough. If you’re looking for someone who will love your pet as much as you do, Zoe is the one!”

About: I’ve been pet sitting since I was 10 years old and have years of hands-on experience caring for a wide range of animals. I’m especially comfortable with dogs of all ages, including senior pets who require extra attention and medical care. I have experience administering medications, including injections for diabetic dogs, and I’ve also cared for birds. What sets me apart is how much I genuinely love bonding with animals. I’m active and enjoy being outdoors, so your pets will get plenty of exercise, playtime, and attention. At the same time, I’m very attentive to their individual needs—whether that’s high energy activities or gentle, calm care for older pets. I’m also extremely responsible and respectful of your home. I’ve been trusted by friends, family, and neighbors for years to care for both their pets and their houses, and I always make sure to leave everything even better than I found it. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine! Right now, since it’s summer, I have lots of free time to dedicate to your pets. I rehearse for a show for only a few hours a day, which leaves me with plenty of time to provide consistent care, attention, walks, playtime, and companionship throughout the day. I’m available for morning, afternoon, and evening visits, and I can also accommodate overnight stays whenever needed. My schedule is very flexible outside of rehearsals, so I’m happy to adjust to meet your pet’s routine and specific needs. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I follow your pet’s routine closely—feeding, walks, and any special instructions you provide—to keep them happy and stress-free. I also ensure medications are given safely and on schedule when needed. I treat your home with care, keeping it clean, secure, and organized while you’re away. I provide plenty of playtime, walks, and attention, so pets feel happy, engaged, and cared for while you’re gone. I’m looking forward to meeting you and your pet and making sure they feel loved and well cared for!
“We’ve booked with her multiple times, and she has been amazing every single time! She takes such great care of our dogs, sends thoughtful updates and photos, and truly treats them like her own. Our dogs absolutely love her, and we always have complete peace of mind knowing they’re in such caring hands. We highly recommend her and will definitely keep booking with her!”

“Xion was amazing! They went above and beyond in home sitting our dog over our Thanksgiving vacation. From near-daily text and photo updates, to even shoveling snow from our driveway and sidewalk, they really took care of everything and more. So grateful and would absolutely book again!”

“Nathalia is the best! This is my first experience on Rover and she did not disappoint! She kept my 2 month old puppy entertained which can be tough so i’m so grateful for that! She made sure to update me on how my puppy was doing and did everything I asked perfectly. So nice and would definetly have her house sit again!”

“duane was the best dog sitter i could have asked for! i ended up needing a sitter on short notice and he made the whole thing easy. communicated well, took my pup out on lots of long walks, and left my space clean! i will absolutely be using him again.”

“Grace is our go to for Sammy watching. Sammy adores her and Grace takes such good care of her. We had to leave town last minute for a funeral and Grace graciously stepped in to watch Sammy for us and we are so thankful!”

“Heather is a fantastic dog AND house sitter. She took good care of my pup, taking her on daily walks and being home for the vast majority the time while I was gone for a full week. As a HUGE bonus she cleaned the house, washed all the towels and sheets and remade the bed beautifully before she left. I highly recommend her.”

About: I have taken care of dogs and cats of every kind since I was 10. I dog-sit and cat-sit, and I have even bird-sat before. I have shadowed dog trainers and aided with behavioral therapy dog certification tests, and I volunteer at Best Friends shelter for dog walking. I am very adaptable to what works for each dog, because I know everyone has individual needs! I won't tire or get short with a puppy, and I can just provide companionship and support to senior dogs :) I know how to read a situation and how to avoid a stressful or potentially volatile situation with another dog, and as such, I will act accordingly because nothing is more important than keeping you pet safe and happy! For the background of my pet experience, in my parents' home, which I grew up in, all our pets (2 cats and a dog) have their own beds on the floor next to mine, as well as one or two others in the living room, basement, etc., so they can always hang out with us. We have a yard where they go out and play in or get sun, and take them on walks on the daily. For my cats we have 2 cat trees, and it turns out they prefer window sills and beds anyway, so we leave blankets out for them. We feed them 2x a day with wet and dry food, and will give dental bones to our dog and treats usually daily. In your home, I wil respect all your house and pet rules, treat your things and pets with respect, and give them love and attention until you return home! Pets are what brighten my day. When I come home from school, the first thing I do is greet them, and when they greet me with a smile on their face and their tails wagging, I forget the stress of the day. They make my whole life better. I try to dogwalk at the local shelter on weekends, and say hi to any and all dogs I meet (obviously checking in with the owners first) I currently live in an apartment with a roommate; however, she will never be left alone or in any way in charge of caring for your pet. I will never leave your pet alone with her or anyone else for the duration of their stay with me. They will be given treats and food as you dictate, and they will be loved, cuddled, walked, and treated as the King or Queen of the house. I promise to cherish your pet as if they were my own, because I know (and I am of the opinion of this too!) they are more than pets, they are family.

“We booked with Elva and Matt for house sitting while we were on vacation. Our previous planned sitter had cancelled last minute and we are honestly so happy they did so we could meet Matt and Elva! Blu absolutely loved them and they took great care of him, as well as the house. Their communication was amazing and we got daily photos and updates of our little guy! We will definitely be booking again☺️”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Whites Crossing walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Whites Crossing maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Whites Crossing choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
