Stephanie was fantastic! Updated us often and kept our home clean. She even went out of her way to let our pup out after her checkout time due to delays in our travel. Would definitely book with her again!

David is a great dog sitter! We had him do in house sitting for our older poodle who need a little extra help with meds and mobility. David took great care of him and sent picture’s everyday. He left the house spotless! We would trust David again anytime.

Xion was amazing! They went above and beyond in home sitting our dog over our Thanksgiving vacation. From near-daily text and photo updates, to even shoveling snow from our driveway and sidewalk, they really took care of everything and more. So grateful and would absolutely book again!

About: Hello, my name is Reed. I’m a 25-year-old student and former Kennel Technician with hands-on experience in dog sitting, daycare, and boarding on my off days. Over the past year, I’ve also worked professionally leading off-leash group hikes using e-collars, managing 15–17 dogs at a time on dog-friendly trails and parks. This role has given me advanced skills in safe pack management, recall training, and e-collar handling. When your pup is with me, you can count on structured exercise, socialization, and fun adventures at dog parks and on dog-friendly trails. I’ll also make sure you receive high-quality photos of your pet so you can see them enjoying their day. I’ve been formally trained on dog behavior and care through PackPro and the Dog Handler Academy, and I continue to build on that knowledge every day. Feel free to reach out and book a date—I’d love to give your dog the care, attention, and adventure they deserve. I work at the pet resort Sunday-Tuesday and Thursdays. If needed on Tuesdays and Thursdays I can do a late overnight stay for a discount. In the house, I can board a family and give medicine oral or injections. I go to dog parks often, and usually take them outside every hour to an hour and a half. The only requirement is having a dog that is friendly so my dog stays safe as well.

About: I’ve been pet sitting since I was 10 years old and have years of hands-on experience caring for a wide range of animals. I’m especially comfortable with dogs of all ages, including senior pets who require extra attention and medical care. I have experience administering medications, including injections for diabetic dogs, and I’ve also cared for birds. What sets me apart is how much I genuinely love bonding with animals. I’m active and enjoy being outdoors, so your pets will get plenty of exercise, playtime, and attention. At the same time, I’m very attentive to their individual needs—whether that’s high energy activities or gentle, calm care for older pets. I’m also extremely responsible and respectful of your home. I’ve been trusted by friends, family, and neighbors for years to care for both their pets and their houses, and I always make sure to leave everything even better than I found it. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine! Right now, since it’s summer, I have lots of free time to dedicate to your pets. I rehearse for a show for only a few hours a day, which leaves me with plenty of time to provide consistent care, attention, walks, playtime, and companionship throughout the day. I’m available for morning, afternoon, and evening visits, and I can also accommodate overnight stays whenever needed. My schedule is very flexible outside of rehearsals, so I’m happy to adjust to meet your pet’s routine and specific needs. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I follow your pet’s routine closely—feeding, walks, and any special instructions you provide—to keep them happy and stress-free. I also ensure medications are given safely and on schedule when needed. I treat your home with care, keeping it clean, secure, and organized while you’re away. I provide plenty of playtime, walks, and attention, so pets feel happy, engaged, and cared for while you’re gone. I’m looking forward to meeting you and your pet and making sure they feel loved and well cared for!

About: Grew up with dogs and have many years of hands-on experience caring for them in everyday life, including feeding, walking, basic training, and understanding different breeds, temperaments, and energy levels. I’m confident handling both calm and active dogs and adjusting to their individual needs. I now also own two cats, which has given me additional experience with feline behavior, routines, and creating a safe, stress-free environment. I’m comfortable caring for both dogs and cats and treat every animal with patience, responsibility, and genuine care. My schedule is very flexible, and I’m available for pet care throughout the day, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and on short notice when needed. I can’t take pets into my own home because I have two cats, but I’m very happy to stay at the client’s home and provide care there. I make sure pets feel comfortable, safe, and keep their normal routine while you’re away.

Eric and Candace are amazing! They watched our pups in our home for a week. Our dogs were happy and we appreciated the photo updates. We were relieved knowing our furry kids were in experienced capable hands. Our house plants were even alive when we got back! Really looking forward to working with them again.

About: Hello! My name is Luke and I am here for you if you are looking for a dog sitter/walker or cat sitter! I love dogs and cats so much and am certain I can give your pets the love and attention they need while you are away! I’m currently home from the summer after graduating from college and in between jobs, meaning I should have a wide range of availability! Just let me know when and I should be available. Unfortunately will not be able to board your pets at my own home as I have pets of my own. I am willing to stay overnight at clients homes.

Elva was a great house/pet sitter for us! This is the first time we have ever needed one for our 12 year old dog and we couldn't be happier with the service she provided. I appreciated that she was willing to come before we left to meet us and learn our dog's current routines. I came back home to the house still being clean and a happy dog. I will definitely reach out to Elva again for any upcoming trips!

Heather is a fantastic dog AND house sitter. She took good care of my pup, taking her on daily walks and being home for the vast majority the time while I was gone for a full week. As a HUGE bonus she cleaned the house, washed all the towels and sheets and remade the bed beautifully before she left. I highly recommend her.

We have used MacKenzie on two occasions now she is absolutely wonderful, very personable with our little dog Sophie. When we call in or text to check in on how things are going, she gets back to us right away always gives us a good report on how things are going and just makes us feel so comfortable that she’s home taking care of our little dog. She really knows what she is doing. She loves pets and knows how to take very good care of them. I would highly recommend her. You will not be disappointed.

Jenn was a dog parent’s dream! She was attentive to all of my dogs’ needs and quirks, and couldn’t have been more accommodating to my travel and access needs, pickup and drop off times, etc. She handled my dog with medical needs easily, and sent lots of pics of my pups looking very happy. Very psyched we found our new favorite dog sitter :)

About: I have over 8 years of pet-sitting experience caring for dogs and cats of all sizes for family and friends. I love getting to know each pet’s unique personality and building a bond with them so they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I have experience caring for pets with special dietary needs, administering extra care for sick cats and dogs, and working with shy, anxious, energetic, and senior pets. I treat every animal as if they were my own and strive to provide reliable, loving care tailored to each pet’s individual needs. I’m currently an undergraduate student studying Chemical Engineering at the University of Utah. Since I have the summer off from classes, my schedule is very flexible, giving me plenty of time to provide your pets with the attention, exercise, and care they deserve. My availability is wide open until the fall semester begins on August 24, so I can easily accommodate weekdays, weekends, and last-minute bookings. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are always my top priorities. I understand that trusting someone with both your pet and your home is a big decision, and I take that responsibility seriously. If I’m staying in your home, I’ll treat it with the same care and respect that I treat my own. I’ll keep your home clean and tidy, follow all household instructions, and make sure it’s secure while you’re away. I’ll also keep you updated with regular messages and photos so you can have peace of mind. My home is also a safe, dog-friendly environment for boarding. It has a fully fenced backyard where dogs can safely play and get exercise, as well as two levels that provide plenty of space to relax and explore. I no longer have any dogs of my own, so your pet will receive my full attention in a calm environment without needing to adjust to resident pets. Whether I’m caring for your pet in your home or mine, I’ll treat them like a member of my own family and provide the love, attention, and care they deserve.

About: I have taken care of dogs and cats of every kind since I was 10. I dog-sit and cat-sit, and I have even bird-sat before. I have shadowed dog trainers and aided with behavioral therapy dog certification tests, and I volunteer at Best Friends shelter for dog walking. I am very adaptable to what works for each dog, because I know everyone has individual needs! I won't tire or get short with a puppy, and I can just provide companionship and support to senior dogs :) I know how to read a situation and how to avoid a stressful or potentially volatile situation with another dog, and as such, I will act accordingly because nothing is more important than keeping you pet safe and happy! For the background of my pet experience, in my parents' home, which I grew up in, all our pets (2 cats and a dog) have their own beds on the floor next to mine, as well as one or two others in the living room, basement, etc., so they can always hang out with us. We have a yard where they go out and play in or get sun, and take them on walks on the daily. For my cats we have 2 cat trees, and it turns out they prefer window sills and beds anyway, so we leave blankets out for them. We feed them 2x a day with wet and dry food, and will give dental bones to our dog and treats usually daily. In your home, I wil respect all your house and pet rules, treat your things and pets with respect, and give them love and attention until you return home! Pets are what brighten my day. When I come home from school, the first thing I do is greet them, and when they greet me with a smile on their face and their tails wagging, I forget the stress of the day. They make my whole life better. I try to dogwalk at the local shelter on weekends, and say hi to any and all dogs I meet (obviously checking in with the owners first) I currently live in an apartment with a roommate; however, she will never be left alone or in any way in charge of caring for your pet. I will never leave your pet alone with her or anyone else for the duration of their stay with me. They will be given treats and food as you dictate, and they will be loved, cuddled, walked, and treated as the King or Queen of the house. I promise to cherish your pet as if they were my own, because I know (and I am of the opinion of this too!) they are more than pets, they are family.

I had to leave my two Siamese boys home for the holidays. I was very nervous. I work from home and they aren't home alone much, if at all! Having true flame-point Siamese characteristics, they require constant attention and play. They are known to be one of the most social of cat breeds and are often called the royalty of cats for good reason! Lucy stayed over the whole week and did more than give them her undivided attention! She followed their feeding schedule and medicine administration. They had just been neutered a week before and she checked that they were still healing properly. She checked in with me and responded promptly when I texted her to see how things were going. She let me know how much time she was with them and when she was away. I could tell when I got home they had still gotten the amount of playtime and cuddles they need. She met with me beforehand and went over last minute details as I requested before I left. I was in a rush the day I left and Lucy watered my plants for me. My dishwasher was broken at the time and couldn't run water in one side of my sink. She made sure to not use them and hand washed any dishes. I left my only apartment key with her and she didn't forget to put it back for my return. Everything was tidy and perfectly taken care of. I can tell Lucy enjoys animals and watching them. It's not a "job" for her, but a joy she holds in her everyday life. I am excited to have found a permanent sitter and my kitties are happy they'll have a familiar friend when I'm gone! I'm so grateful that she was able to stay over and spend her Christmas watching them. Thanks for becoming my cat-sitter Lucy!

FAQs for House Sitting - Henefer

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 1,559 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Henefer. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Henefer walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Henefer maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Henefer choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Henefer. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
