About: Hello, my name is Reed. I’m a 25-year-old student and former Kennel Technician with hands-on experience in dog sitting, daycare, and boarding on my off days. Over the past year, I’ve also worked professionally leading off-leash group hikes using e-collars, managing 15–17 dogs at a time on dog-friendly trails and parks. This role has given me advanced skills in safe pack management, recall training, and e-collar handling. When your pup is with me, you can count on structured exercise, socialization, and fun adventures at dog parks and on dog-friendly trails. I’ll also make sure you receive high-quality photos of your pet so you can see them enjoying their day. I’ve been formally trained on dog behavior and care through PackPro and the Dog Handler Academy, and I continue to build on that knowledge every day. Feel free to reach out and book a date—I’d love to give your dog the care, attention, and adventure they deserve. I work at the pet resort Sunday-Tuesday and Thursdays. If needed on Tuesdays and Thursdays I can do a late overnight stay for a discount. In the house, I can board a family and give medicine oral or injections. I go to dog parks often, and usually take them outside every hour to an hour and a half. The only requirement is having a dog that is friendly so my dog stays safe as well.
About: I’ve been caring for animals for years and it’s truly one of my biggest passions. From energetic puppies to senior pets who need a gentler touch, I’m comfortable providing the right level of care, attention, and patience. I’ve spent time working in dog daycare/pet care settings, which has given me hands-on experience with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities. I know how important it is to make sure every pet feels safe, loved, and comfortable — especially when their favorite humans are away. Whether it’s daily walks, cuddle time, sticking to a feeding routine, or making sure medications are given properly, I’m reliable and attentive to every detail. You can count on me to treat your pets like they’re part of my own family, giving them plenty of love, exercise, and care while keeping you updated so you always feel at ease I work full time Sunday - Thursday. My hours are different everyday but I am willing to work around them to help you out as best as I can! I would love to come to your home and provide care for your fur babies! Most pets do better in their own home and I don't have the best setup at my home. I don't want to create any unnecessary stress for them.
“Liz was a great sitter for my girls. One of them had a last-minute medical issue and she handled it. She administered her medication's and took great care. Both dogs were happy and healthy when I got home. She also left the house in great shape. I would definitely ask Liz to stay with my girls again.”

About: I’ve been pet sitting since I was 10 years old and have years of hands-on experience caring for a wide range of animals. I’m especially comfortable with dogs of all ages, including senior pets who require extra attention and medical care. I have experience administering medications, including injections for diabetic dogs, and I’ve also cared for birds. What sets me apart is how much I genuinely love bonding with animals. I’m active and enjoy being outdoors, so your pets will get plenty of exercise, playtime, and attention. At the same time, I’m very attentive to their individual needs—whether that’s high energy activities or gentle, calm care for older pets. I’m also extremely responsible and respectful of your home. I’ve been trusted by friends, family, and neighbors for years to care for both their pets and their houses, and I always make sure to leave everything even better than I found it. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine! Right now, since it’s summer, I have lots of free time to dedicate to your pets. I rehearse for a show for only a few hours a day, which leaves me with plenty of time to provide consistent care, attention, walks, playtime, and companionship throughout the day. I’m available for morning, afternoon, and evening visits, and I can also accommodate overnight stays whenever needed. My schedule is very flexible outside of rehearsals, so I’m happy to adjust to meet your pet’s routine and specific needs. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I follow your pet’s routine closely—feeding, walks, and any special instructions you provide—to keep them happy and stress-free. I also ensure medications are given safely and on schedule when needed. I treat your home with care, keeping it clean, secure, and organized while you’re away. I provide plenty of playtime, walks, and attention, so pets feel happy, engaged, and cared for while you’re gone. I’m looking forward to meeting you and your pet and making sure they feel loved and well cared for!
About: Hello! My name is Luke and I am here for you if you are looking for a dog sitter/walker or cat sitter! I love dogs and cats so much and am certain I can give your pets the love and attention they need while you are away! I’m currently home from the summer after graduating from college and in between jobs, meaning I should have a wide range of availability! Just let me know when and I should be available. Unfortunately will not be able to board your pets at my own home as I have pets of my own. I am willing to stay overnight at clients homes.
“Eric and Candace are fantastic! We've never left the dogs with strangers before and they weren't strangers for long. Their black lab Buddy is a sweetheart and was immediately running around and playing with our 2 dogs. They sent pictures and texts while we were away which I very much appreciated, as I can get a little anxious about my lil' babies. I am so happy to have connected with Eric and Candace and will 100% rebook with them to be confident my furry family members are safe and happy when we're away.”
“We have never left our pets for this long before so we were a bit nervous beforehand. Everything went great! We returned home to happy, well cared for pets. Thank you!!!!!”

“Laura was super communicative our whole time away. She asked great questions when I forgot to mention things but otherwise I felt like the pets were well loved and cared for while we were gone. The house was the same as we left it with regards to clean :) We will definitely work with Laura again!”

“Elva was a great house/pet sitter for us! This is the first time we have ever needed one for our 12 year old dog and we couldn't be happier with the service she provided. I appreciated that she was willing to come before we left to meet us and learn our dog's current routines. I came back home to the house still being clean and a happy dog. I will definitely reach out to Elva again for any upcoming trips!”

About: We're a couple in our seventies enjoying a new chapter of life as avid travelers. We are authors and retired magazine publishers. With our five children now grown, we sold our home and spent the past five years exploring the world. Along the way, we've had the joy of connecting with extraordinary people from all walks of life. We and our children have owned every kind of pet, from dogs and cats to lizards, parrots, chickens, rabbits, etc. Though we no longer have our own pets, we've discovered a deep satisfaction in caring for other people's animals. It's a heartwarming experience that adds another layer of fulfillment to our travels. Pet care blends naturally into our routine as writers. Walks, feeding, and companionship structure our days, while quiet writing hours fit comfortably around the rhythms of caring for animals. When we care for pets in our clients’ homes, we focus on maintaining the routines and environment the pets already know and trust. • We follow the pet’s normal schedule for feeding, walks, playtime, and bedtime so their routine stays consistent. • We provide companionship and attention, making sure they feel secure and not lonely while their owners are away. • We keep the home environment calm and familiar, using the same commands, toys, and sleeping areas the pets are used to. • We monitor health and behavior, watching for any changes in appetite, mood, or activity and responding quickly if needed. • We communicate with owners, sending regular updates, photos, and messages so they know their pets are happy and well cared for. • We maintain your home responsibly, keeping everything clean, secure, and exactly as you left it. Our goal is simple: the pets feel safe, loved, and relaxed in their own home while their owners travel with complete peace of mind.
About: I grew up dogs and cats, and still continue to housesit and care for friends’ and familys’ furry babies. I've cared for energetic puppies and sweet seniors, and lots of animals at once. I'm happy to follow specific care routines, daily walks, playtime, and any medical needs, with plenty of snuggles. I treat every home with respect and every pet as if they were my own. My goal is for you to enjoy your time away without worrying -knowing your pets are happy and well cared for. I have two dogs of my own a Border Collie mix and a Lab mix, both are seven years old, and spoiled rotten..So I've been told, and they get along with other dogs. While I'm housesiting/animal sitting., I'll be working on my computer, making phone calls, playing with your furry babies, and occasionally stepping out of the house for 3-4 hours at the most, to do errands, grocery shopping, and family needs. If your pup stays with me..I have a fenced backyard, and two of my own furry babies, Toby and Skit. They get along with others. I take them on hikes every day on BLM land near me. Since I live in the country, they're leash and off-leash trained.I have extra dog beds, and bowls, pups stay in my room with me at night.
“Having Andy watch our dog (and tarantula) was just perfect. He took care of our house just like it was his own and our pup couldn't have been happier. He was very communicative and washed all the bedding before he left. We will definitely be using him again!”

About: I love caring for dogs and cats! From puppy training to dealing with senior dog issues I’ve had plenty of experience with both and everything in between. I started dog sitting my neighbors dogs when they would go out of town and have since continued plus added a few more neighbors in the years. I love walking dogs and giving them exercise and being able to just enjoy the outdoors. I’m a stay at home mom so I am extremely flexible. Super flexible with requests and availability In and around Evanston. Can usually accommodate most needs! I have a large fenced in yard. Friendly, quiet neighborhood. Very open concept home so plenty of space for animals to have their space but also be able to see everything and everyone
About: I have had lots of prior experience with Rover and also on WAG! I over 140 5 star reviews! I have also walked, and boarded neighbors, friends, and family's dogs. If you are satisfied with your experience please be sure to leave me a good review and 5 star rating, this helps me out so much! Tips are also greatly appreciated and you can tip me! You can tip within the Rover app or just ask me how else you can tip! As a dog lover and dog owner I know what it takes to care for and walk dogs. I have volunteered at shelters bathing and walking dogs. Its so fun to play with them all, and walk them. I'm experienced with sittings, boardings, and walkings as I have had to care people's dogs on WAG! A dog care, boarding, sitting, and walking service and have had to take care of neighbors, friends, and family's dogs while they we're away. I work from home most of the time. so being home or sitting is a easy task and if I'm watching your pet I don't have to go out for work. If your dog has specific needs as far as taking medicine I can help with that too. I work from home and work for myself so I have plenty of free time to care for your pets and play with them or whatever their needs are! I live in a house with a big fenced in yard for them to run around in. If you have small dogs I do have a doggy door they can freely go out to go potty if they are used to thay. I do also have 2 chihuahuas that live here for if your dogs likes company (One lives upstairs with roommate.) If you have issues with other dogs I can also make sure they are seperated from your dogs. I am previoudly experienced and I'm pretty open throughout the day so I will have lots of time to care and play with your pets. There is 1 Chihuahua living in the house so your fur babies will have company. If you don't wanr to have your dogs around my other dog that's not a problem as I have a gate in the basement where I am able to seperate my Chihuahua upstairs and yours downstairs with me.
About: I’ve taken care of my dogs for as long as I can remember, walking, feeding, poop pick-up, bathing, and of course playing. I’ve grown up in a household with all shapes and sizes of dogs and occasionally cats. Now that I’m older I foster seven cats and take care of my family’s two dogs! I’ve taken care of and tended to horses, sheep, chickens, goats, lizards, ferrets, and bunnies though so don’t be afraid to reach out if you have other pets that need some love too! I’m currently finishing my senior year of high school! I only go to school on A-Days so B-Days I’ll be available to tend to all the pets needs all day whereas A-Days I’ll only be able to help on mornings and nights! I’m always available on weekends though! I’ve taken care of animals of all shapes and sizes and I understand just like everyone how hard it is to find a pet-sitter expecially if you have multiple pets! I’ve always loved animals though and can guarantee you’re pets will be in good hands and have a good time!

FAQs for House Sitting - Emory
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 397 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Emory. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Emory walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Emory maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Emory choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Emory. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
