“I normally don’t do reviews but when I do it means you will always have my service. Let me just start off by saying how outgoing, punctual, consistent, and caring Johnathan was/is! I contacted him last minute to babysit my fur son and was actually hesitant to leave him but once i saw the pictures and videos he sent I was at ease. Kobe is a very active dog and will show if he’s uncomfortable around u but the moment he sensed Johnathan I knew he was gone be ok. I will look no further when I need someone to look after him. He have my business anytime. Thanks again John! You’re the best.”

“Tonia takes great care of our dog Layla. She provides lots of updates and photos. We can tell that ches takes great care of Layla. Layla has so much fun with Tonya and her dog.”

“My boy had the best time with Mary and Robert! Lots of walks, cuddles, play time, and naps. Mary responded very promptly with photos whenever I reached out to check on Danny. I brought home a happy and healthy boy, would definitely book with them again!”

“Monica is the best. Sent tons of pictures and updates, and she was incredibly accommodating and flexible when my travel schedule got screwed up due to weather. Highly recommend!”

“Krystal was great! We were visiting from out of town and wanted a chill place for our pup for a few days! Sweet Dee enjoyed her stay and had lots of fun with Krystal and her pup. We will definitely use Krystal again when visiting the area!”

About: I am very picky when it comes to the care of my dogs. They have a specific routine and eating schedule. They are my babies and I care for them as I would care for myself. I will absolutely make sure to do the same for your fur babies as well. I am dedicated to making other owners feel safe just the same as I need when I have to be away from my babies. I work remotely and can be available for full time care. I have cameras that I monitor our home. We enjoy going on long walks in the morning and in the evening when the sun begins setting in the heat of summer. In the cooler (not cold or freezing weather) seasons, we go on a mid-day walk and on the really pretty days we love to go for as many walks or adventures that we can. My babies usually get 2-4 20 to 30 minute walks per day, more activity outdoor time with beautiful weather. I have 2 dogs at home that eat, walk, play and relax on a routine. I have a safe and secure fenced in yard, but it is small. There is a dog park around the corner and lots of walking trails. I take my dogs on "adventures" and they do have seat belts to keep them safe in the car. Your pets would be a part of our family and I would have them on a similar schedule unless directed to do something different by you. I work less than a mile from my home and have cameras all over my house. I am able to be home within 5 minutes or less if needed when I am away. Walks, outside & play time are very dependent on the weather. We don't go outside in lightning at all or if it is raining weather we only go out back for potty breaks and I look at weather apps multiple times a day because I do have a sweet girl that does not handle storms well at all. We have a dog park in the neighborhood and great walking trails. We go on long adventures as much as possible as long as it is not too hot or cold. Paw pad inspections are done with my bare feet on the concreate before my babies are allowed to walk. My sweet girl is older, so Leia is not able to handle the heat like Kylo. I am also very mindful of this. Your babies would be treated as if they were my babies unless there are other things you need me to do that I am currently not doing for my own.

“This was my first experience with Rover and it was great! Janine sent pictures and videos the whole stay and it def helped ease me into leaving my dog in her care. He became comfortable very quick and it showed! Def a great first experience!”

“Kathleen took great care of my dog, Frankie. He is typically somewhat anxious, but she made him feel right at home. He was relaxed and content during his stay. She sent daily pictures that helped ease me while away. Kathleen has a great set up for dogs to feel at home. She has treats and some toys there for them to play with, if they so desire. She is home with them -which helped me - knowing Frankie wasn't going to be stuck in a crate all day. I would highly recommend her for your dog caring needs.”

About: I have been a part of a pet friendly home, consisting of numerous dogs and a cat since I was four years old. Having cared for multiple pets for so long throughout my upbringing, I have learned so much about the needs of various dogs. The last couple of years, I have been given different opportunities to care for the pets of friends, whether it be dogs or chickens. Doing this, I have found that I absolutely love taking care of other peoples’ pets and showing them genuine love and care when their owners are away. Something I value greatly is clear and open communication, meaning I am proactive in asking questions if needed or sharing any pictures or memories made along the way. I can’t wait to care for your furry friend! I currently have no other major responsibilities and Rover is my summer job before I enter college, meaning I am available on any day the week at any time throughout the day. I regularly make sure my client’s pets have the requested amount of food and water, as well as any medication they need. I am proactive in letting the dogs out when they need it and cleaning litter boxes for cats.
“I contacted Megan VERY last minute after the original arrangement didn’t work. The original home we selected, the initial meet my CoCo was very anxious and wasn’t comfortable at all (she even growled at the male that lived in the home). I immediately knew I couldn’t leave her there, so I contacted Megan and she was very responsive and told me to bring her right over. As soon as she opened the door, my dog went right up to her a licked her hand. And was relaxed and comfortable in her home. While I was gone, I received videos and pictures frequently. My CoCo loved being with Megan and her daughter. I will definitely be using her in the future.”
“Victor is awesome. She goes out of her way to make my fur babies loved and welcomed. This was my second time and I have already scheduled her again. Highly recommend her.”

“Molly was absolutely fantastic with Kobe! Her communication was excellent throughout, keeping us updated and making sure we felt comfortable while we were away. She was so thoughtful in how she cared for Kobe—making sure she had plenty of walks, outside time, and play to keep her happy and engaged. It was clear that Molly really cared and went above and beyond to provide a great level of care. We couldn’t recommend her more to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter!”

“Melinda is awesome! She has a great setup and system for hosting and watching your dog. She is the pack leader in the house. She’s very responsive and flexible, and she takes and sends multiple updates/photos throughout the day. We got delayed coming home due to weather and she was very understanding and flexible to still allow us to get our dog at nearly 2AM vs the expected 10PM pickup.”

“I booked Priscilla for a long visit and she was amazing with my cat. She provided a great environment for her and was very responsive with any messages and requests. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for someone to love their pet while they’re out of town. I almost felt bad taking my cat back!”

“Alex was wonderful with our two-fur baby’s. He kept us informed with photos and even a couple of videos. Also, a big shot out for giving our littlest fur baby his medication during his stay. We highly recommend Alex.”

“Took amazing care of my pet cat Bandit!!! Took a lot of photos and provided great updates, will definitely use him again if we ever go on another trip like this!! :)”

“Kristen is a wonderful human. She took in my old girl for a couple days. She made traveling so easy. She is caring, kind and I wouldn’t want anyone else to take my pup in. Highly recommend.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - White Settlement
We couldn't be happier with the care our two huskies received! Our boys can be a little quirky and definitely have their own personalities, but it's clear they absolutely love spending time with Daniel. One of the things I appreciated most was the consistent communication. The regular updates, photos, and check-ins gave me so much peace of mind while we were away. As a “bit” of a helicopter dog mom, knowing my pups were happy, safe, and well cared for helped me truly relax and enjoy traveling. It's obvious he genuinely cares about the fur babies he watches and takes the time to get to know them. We are so grateful for the excellent care and would highly recommend Daniel to anyone looking for a trustworthy, dependable, and caring dog sitter!

Excellent! She sent pics and updates, had great prices especially for my dog that’s under a year and needed “puppy prices!” She was unphased by my dog’s tendency to chew things and have accidents if not let out frequently…such a relief to leave them with someone very calm and capable! And her kiddos helped provide snuggles since me and my kids couldn’t for the night, I loved that!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
