I have been grooming and pet sitting for 16 years. I own and operate my own dog grooming salon (Motown Mutts) . I regularly pull and foster from local shelters and have experience with frightened, nervous and special needs dogs. I have a ton of references and have quickly earned a reputation for providing excellent care in my area. My children were raised doing this and dogs that don’t normally love kids love mine because they speak the language. The dogs are very rarely left alone. My daughter is an LVT and handy for emergencies when I call. I can also groom them with advanced notice during their stay. We love our pet sitters like our own and become very attached to them. My babies usually run to my door and can’t wait to get inside. I am certified in emergency canine CPR and therapeutic massage therapy.

We left our puppy for the first times for 5 days with Melissa and he came home happy and tired—and better behaved! Her love and knowledge of dogs is evident and we will definitely ask for her help again:)
Melissa and her husband could not have been more accommodating. And it was a nice surprise to get a message from Melissa about how the dogs were doing the first evening we were gone.
Meliss was amazing! You can tell she has a lot of experience caring for animals. She watched my 2 puppies while I was out of town and kept me updated with photos or messages on how they were doing. She even bathed them for me before i picked them up. I could tell that they had fun and were really relaxed while in her care. 10/10 I would board them with her again.
You'd be hard pressed to find anyone who loves and cares for dogs more than Melissa. My little chihuahua comes home from her house thoroughly exhausted and happy from all the fun he has there. She takes great care of every animal she comes into contact with and is very educated. This isn't just a hobby for her. This is her life and she is amazing!
Melissa is an amazing person! I highly recommend her. She has taken care of my dogs for many years!! She loves them like they are her own, my dogs look forward to staying with Melissa. Melissa always goes the extra mile for my fur babies, and I never have to worry for one second when they are with Melissa.

Schedule
The dogs will go to work with me daily unless I find the daycare experience stressful to them (older or nervous pups). I also have employees at my salon so they are available in emergencies

Safety, trust & environment
The pups will be my pet while with me, we wake up at 4 am, have our meals and then head to the salon for the day to play. I don’t do a lot of playtime outside in the summer during the hottest times but we exercise in the evenings when it’s cooler. If there is an emergency I have staff willing to help out. I prefer no Sunday pick ups or drop offs because that’s family day

A typical day
We have a huge fenced yard with scheduled potty breaks and play time. We do not kennel except for meal times so your baby is our pet when they are here.
