I’ve raised and trained puppies, cared for elderly pets and everything in between. Large or small, I love them all I am retired so my time is very flexible. From a short drop-in to check on your pet to a long- term house sitting assignment, my schedule is open. When caring for your pet in your home, you can count on me to respect your privacy and to diligently follow your instructions. Your pets needs are my top priority
“Chandi was wonderful. The communication was of upmost importance for me. Chandi was very responsive to my messages and kept me updated on how my fur babies were doing. I am very happy that I found her and I look forward to having her sit with my babies in the future. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Halley took tremendous care of my little high energy guy for 4 days while I traveled for work. I’m forever grateful for the kindness, grace, and thoughtfulness she gave. I would supremely recommend her and wouldn’t hesitate to request her again!”

“We had a last minute need for an in home pet sitter for our 1 year old BC, who has separation anxiety, and our 12 yo BC. Tyler came to our rescue and was incredibly professional, communicative, and knowledgeable about dogs with high needs. He immediately established a calm and comforting rapport with our young, anxious pup and provided wonderful care for her first full day alone with a stranger as well as our senior. Our girls had some complex needs regarding management and he followed all of our requests to ensure their safety and comfort. I would absolutely recommend Tyler for in home pet care. We look forward to using his services again in the future!”

“Alex stayed with our dog and two cats for almost a week. She was a fantastic communicator and we arrived home to a clean house and happy fur babies. Grateful to Alex and hoping she’ll pet sit for us in the future 🐾”

“Bailey watched our border collie/heeler mix Huck for 10 days and we were very happy with our experience with her. She provided updates on their activities, followed our written instructions, and we came home to a healthy and happy pup and a clean house! We definitely recommend Bailey as a sitter.”

About: Animals have always brought me a lot of joy. I grew up with and have taken care of dogs, cats, chickens, rabbits, birds, horses, reptiles, and amphibians, so I am well acquainted with many types of creatures! I have cared for newborn kittens, as well as senior dogs and cats. Due to my background as a veterinary technician and wildlife caretaker, I am very comfortable with animals who require medical care or have higher needs in general. I am familiar with giving medications, shots, cleaning and grooming, and overall behavior indicators of well-being. I also assisted in surgeries, where I prepped the supplies, took vitals, and monitored the pet's health while under anesthesia. While I hope no family has to endure the hardship that comes with an ill or elderly pet, it does happen. Whether you are planning a trip away or just need some assistance, I would be happy to care for your fur baby and hope to meet them soon. I currently have a cat and three chickens who I love a lot. So unfortunately, I cannot board any pets at my home. I have a remote job, so am flexible with home stays, walks, feeding schedules, and anything else to keep your friend happy. I always first consider the pets' and my safety. In my own home, I have spent the last 4 years helping my cat overcome her traumatic past through patience and routine. I give her lots of treats and mental stimulation, such as finding new items for her to bat around and sit on. We also have chickens, which have a fully fenced backyard so they can roam. I also love spoiling them with watermelon, apples, and mealworms!
“Stari was amazing with our dogs. We have one difficult dog and Stari was great with her. She stayed and watched our house, took the dogs out on walks around the neighborhood and to the beach, and most importantly took really good care of our dogs. She sent photos and they were always content and happy! I would highly recommend her to watch your pets! Thanks Stari”

“Our shy Nala took to Jessica immediately! Jessica truly loves dogs and they love her. She not only gave Nala the attention and hugs Nala needed for our first separation, but even did a little training to help break her of her jumping habit. We are very happy we have found her.”

“Yliana was AMAZING!!! She updated us with pictures/videos of my girls often. We could tell our girls were comfortable with her right away- which is not usually the case for one of my girls as she’s very timid. This gave us such peace of mind & we were so grateful for that! While we missed our girls tons, we didn’t worry at all & we were able to enjoy our vacay! We will Definitely keep Yliana in mind for future sittings & you should too!!!!! 😋”

About: I am a long time animal lover and have been working in pet care for over 25 years professionally. I have ample experience with dog walking and overnight pet sitting. I ran my own dog walking business as a sole proprietor for many years, and also have worked as an independent contractor for other dog walking & pet sitting companies. In the past, I've cared for many different animals of varying ages and breeds; from puppies and kittens to seniors. I have plenty of experience administering medication for animals who need it, whether it be ear/eye drops, pills, and insulin injections. I also have experience caring for small and furry (rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs) as well as scaly (fish, snakes, turtles). I'm responsible, caring, and punctual, and I genuinely care about providing great service to you and your pet. I am looking forward to meeting your furry (or scaly) friend! My schedule is fairly flexible and I will accept bookings Mon-Sun from 8am to 5pm. I prefer to do an free consultation with your dog before you book your first walk. I do appreciate advance bookings, but will do my best to fit you in! Your pet is a member of your family, so it is important to me that your pal feels loved and cared for while you are away. I travel to you and I am not currently available for boarding in my home.
“Bailey was wonderful as always!! This was the longest we’ve been away from our pet family, having her take care of them made our trip all the more relaxing!! She’s so reliable and responsible, we greatly appreciate the love she has for our pets and could not have asked for a better sitter. Thank you so much!!!”

“Anna was FANTASTIC! This was our first time using Rover and we were late to the game coming up to the holidays. Anna stepped up, took great care of our pets and house. Our dog and cats were completely happy and hardly even acknowledged us when we got home because they were so well cared for. I could not recommend her enough!!”

About: I had a small dog for over 10 years who was a beloved member of our family. She passed this previous winter and I wasn't able to be there because I was away at university. I want to make sure other pet parents feel secure that someone is there who genuinely cares for their pet. I also have two cats and a blue-tongued skink at my other house in southern California, and I've also had a scorpion and vinegaroon. I have a snake here with me in Arcata and I've cared for snakes since I was a young child. I've also petsat a bearded dragon. Cats and dogs are both fond of me, but I'm capable of caring for unique types of pets, as well! I'll be in Arcata the entire summer except for a week in early June, so if your usual university student sitter isn't around, I will be! I don't currently have a full-time job over the summer nor over the school year, so I'll be free to spend as much time with your pet as you desire or need. I don't have a yard, but if you need your pet to get some fresh air, I'm willing to take them wherever! I have a car that can fit your best friend if they like the beach, or the woods, or another fun spot that'll help them get exercise and stimulation while you're away.
About: Dogs are more than pets, they are part of the family. I have always loved animals, and I will love yours just the same. Life can get busy! It's important to make sure your fur baby feels loved even when their owners are away. I am responsible and active. I would love to take your pup along with me as I run and hike around the beautiful PNW terrain! I want to make sure that I create a personal connection with your dog and with you to ensure that I offer the best care for your dog! I have grown up around dogs, and I understand that each one has their own quirks and personalities. In addition, I love all animals and am eager to look after cats, rabbits, chickens... you name it! Thanks! I look forward to taking care of your pup!
“Adam rocks! He is a real life dog whisper! He loved on my pup for several days, and felt reassured that my dog was being well cared for while I was away! Highly recommend Adam for your sitting needs.”

FAQs for House Sitting - Westhaven-Moonstone
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 160 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Westhaven-Moonstone. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Westhaven-Moonstone walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Westhaven-Moonstone maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Westhaven-Moonstone choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
