About: I’ve cared for dogs and cats of all sizes, ages, and breeds for as long as I can remember. My experience ranges from training puppies to caring for elderly dogs to providing medication and much much more. The happiest moments of my life have been with my dogs and the animals I look after. I can’t wait to meet and care for yours! I’m a remote worker with a very flexible schedule who lives across the street from a dog beach, which allows me to give your pet the attention they deserve. The happiness of your pet (and your ease of mind) is my top priority! I have a large fully fenced yard that will keep your dog happy and exercised! My home also has two friendly dogs that are ready to meet and play with your pet. I’m happy to leave my dogs at home to do in-house visits for pets that are less social :)
About: I have been a pet and house sitter for the majority of my life. I truly enjoy spending time with your animals and making sure they are happy and healthy while you are away. This can include anything from daily snuggles on the couch, to walks around the neighborhood, play time in the back yard, or chasing lasers around inside. I have sat for a variety of animals, but prefer to stick with dogs and cats, but if you have other types of pets we can negotiate. I do not do well with giving shots but can handle a medication schedule if needed for senior or special needs animals. I am currently a remote student working on a bachelor's degree. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to be gone from my home so I can come care for yours and your pets. I am trustworthy, quiet, dependable, reliable, and love animals. As I already have pets at home, I do not offer my own in-home care. So, it would be best for me to come to you.
“Leigh was absolutely wonderful and I am very confident in recommending her to take care of your furry family members. I recently moved to the area and was very stressed out about finding a new dog sitter. It’s quite a leap of faith to invite someone you don’t know to stay in your home with your pets for the first time. Leigh was very attentive to both of my pups and kept me updated on how they were doing. She also very last minute stayed over an extra night when my flight home got cancelled and still checked in on them the next afternoon when flight delays continuously kept me from getting home. I am very grateful that I found Leigh!”

“Halley did a fine job taking care of our animals. I have not spent any time away from my dog in the 12-ish years I've had her so I was pretty stressed about that. We also have a cat of advanced age, we were worried about her and finally 2 cats who are sneaky and will dart out if you're not paying attention. Happily all 4 animals are happy and unstressed. They were happy to see us of course but overall, they didn't have too much stress. Finally, our home was still neat and clean when we got home. Halley was very conscientious, she left our home as neat as she found it. There was a snafu but Halley managed to deal with it and get on with things. I would be happy to recommend her to others and if we ever need to go out of town again, Halley is who I would ask to care for my home and my animals.”

“Junny took great care of our dog when we were out of town for the weekend. We enjoyed the regular photo updates and could tell that Lyra had a nice weekend and was looked after really well while we were gone”

“Chandi was wonderful. The communication was of upmost importance for me. Chandi was very responsive to my messages and kept me updated on how my fur babies were doing. I am very happy that I found her and I look forward to having her sit with my babies in the future. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Tyler was awesome sitter. Very professional, listened to our concerns/requests and made sure everything we requested has been followed. Very responsive to all of our questions while we were away. My dog Loki had wonderful time with Tyler. I would highly recommend Tyler to anyone who needs a reliable sitter.”
“Stari was amazing with our dogs. We have one difficult dog and Stari was great with her. She stayed and watched our house, took the dogs out on walks around the neighborhood and to the beach, and most importantly took really good care of our dogs. She sent photos and they were always content and happy! I would highly recommend her to watch your pets! Thanks Stari”
“Sadie really went above and beyond! Our dog unfortunately lost the ability to walk while we were out of town. Sadie was so kind to him and helped him move around and get outside. She really cared for him and made him comfortable. Thank you again Sadie. We are so grateful.”

“We were lucky enough to book Alex for two weekends in July! Having consistent care for our pup, who struggles with some separation anxiety, was a huge relief. Alex was reliable, attentive, and clearly cared about our dog. We came home to a happy pup and a well-cared-for house. Highly recommend!”

About: I love all animals, not just cats and dogs;) I have experience with veterinary medicine and I am an apprenticing dog trainer. I am making it my life long goal to truly understand animal behavior and psychology. I am a part time employee with many hours in my day to day life to care for your animals. I have animals of my own and expect the best for them. I ensure to prioritize your pets like they are my own. I care for all pets in a kind, compassionate, and nurturing manner. I believe all pets deserve patience, stability, and consistency from the humans around them. When pets are in my care I ensure these values remain through feeding times and methods, mental enrichment, physical exercise, potty time, and through all interactions spent with pets.
“Bailey dog sat my special girl who has separation anxiety during a chaotic time in our lives, as we were relocating homes. She gave my dog the company and comfort she needed while I moved our belongings. I would recommend Bailey to care for your pooch!”

“"Riley was kind, communicative, and gentle with my dogs. My little pooch felt comfortable and safe enough to sleep close to him, which says a lot. Riley kept me updated and provided excellent care throughout his stay. Thank you, Riley, for taking such good care of my little poochies! I would gladly recommend him to anyone looking for a caring and reliable pet sitter." 🐾💕”

About: Animals have always brought me a lot of joy. I grew up with and have taken care of dogs, cats, chickens, rabbits, birds, horses, reptiles, and amphibians, so I am well acquainted with many types of creatures! I have cared for newborn kittens, as well as senior dogs and cats. Due to my background as a veterinary technician and wildlife caretaker, I am very comfortable with animals who require medical care or have higher needs in general. I am familiar with giving medications, shots, cleaning and grooming, and overall behavior indicators of well-being. I also assisted in surgeries, where I prepped the supplies, took vitals, and monitored the pet's health while under anesthesia. While I hope no family has to endure the challenges that comes with an ill or elderly pet, it does happen. Whether you are planning a trip away or just need some assistance, I would be happy to care for your fur baby and hope to meet them soon. I currently have a cat and three chickens who I love a lot. So unfortunately, I cannot board any pets at my home. I have a remote job, so am flexible with home stays, walks, feeding schedules, and anything else to keep your friend happy. I always first consider the pets' and my safety. In my own home, I have spent the last 4 years helping my cat overcome her traumatic past through patience and routine. I give her lots of treats and mental stimulation, such as finding new items for her to bat around and sit on. We also have chickens, which have a fully fenced backyard so they can roam. I also love spoiling them with watermelon, apples, and mealworms!

When house sitting, I will spend as much time at your home with your pet as I can, as well as taking care of any other obligations you need me too. I will set my daily schedule around our planned walk or drop in visit to make sure you and your pet are accommodated. I care for pets in home according to their owners instructions. I have no problem giving your pets medicine or following special requests. When I am watching your pet, I make sure that they are comfortable and happy at all times. I follow the routine they are used to as outlined by their owners instructions, and make sure they have had their meals for the day, walks, and bedtime all according to plan. I send updates and photos to the owner frequently, and when I receive a message from the client, I answer right away. I truly love caring for animals and their comfort, happiness, and safety is my biggest priority.
“Micheal house sat for us for 4 days to be with our chocolate Lab while we wee out of town and it was a great experience. He kept us updated daily with pictures and is a punctual communicator/very responsive. Will definitely book again.”

“Yliana was AMAZING!!! She updated us with pictures/videos of my girls often. We could tell our girls were comfortable with her right away- which is not usually the case for one of my girls as she’s very timid. This gave us such peace of mind & we were so grateful for that! While we missed our girls tons, we didn’t worry at all & we were able to enjoy our vacay! We will Definitely keep Yliana in mind for future sittings & you should too!!!!! 😋”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Westhaven-Moonstone walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Westhaven-Moonstone maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Westhaven-Moonstone choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
