About: Grew up with family dogs, and strategically made friends with cats so I could pretend they were mine. Currently I have a 7 year old goldendoodle who has taught me a TON about training dogs in the 6 years I've had him. Your good boy will enjoy every smell on our walk and get some (owner approved) treats along the way, and I'm happy to continue your work on any behaviors you're encouraging! I like to take the time to get to know your critters, and let them get to know me so that it's always exciting when I show up! For interested dog owners, I can facilitate a meet with my own dog for a double walk or a dog park playmate - after a meet and greet to make sure they get along.

“Halley did a fine job taking care of our animals. I have not spent any time away from my dog in the 12-ish years I've had her so I was pretty stressed about that. We also have a cat of advanced age, we were worried about her and finally 2 cats who are sneaky and will dart out if you're not paying attention. Happily all 4 animals are happy and unstressed. They were happy to see us of course but overall, they didn't have too much stress. Finally, our home was still neat and clean when we got home. Halley was very conscientious, she left our home as neat as she found it. There was a snafu but Halley managed to deal with it and get on with things. I would be happy to recommend her to others and if we ever need to go out of town again, Halley is who I would ask to care for my home and my animals.”

I ran my own dog walking business as a sole proprietor for many years, and also have worked as an independent contractor for other dog walking & pet sitting companies. I have plenty of experience administering medication for animals who need it, whether it be ear/eye drops, pills, and insulin injections. About: I started pet-sitting in my adolescence and have continued pet-sitting for friends, family, neighbors, and roommates for over twenty years. I've cared for dogs of all sizes, cats, birds, lizards, snakes, fish, rabbits, and rodents. I've administered medication, cared for newborn animals, and have even had to safely evacuate two dogs and two kittens from a home this past summer where I was pet-sitting due to wildfire. That said, my dog is playful and respects when other dogs are not in play-mode. She's happy to be around dogs of all ages.

About: I had a small dog for over 10 years who was a beloved member of our family. She passed this previous winter and I wasn't able to be there because I was away at university. I want to make sure other pet parents feel secure that someone is there who genuinely cares for their pet. I also have two cats and a blue-tongued skink at my other house in southern California, and I've also had a scorpion and vinegaroon. I have a snake here with me in Arcata and I've cared for snakes since I was a young child. I've also petsat a bearded dragon. Cats and dogs are both fond of me, but I'm capable of caring for unique types of pets, as well! I'll be in Arcata the entire summer except for a week in early June, so if your usual university student sitter isn't around, I will be! I don't currently have a full-time job over the summer nor over the school year, so I'll be free to spend as much time with your pet as you desire or need. I don't have a yard, but if you need your pet to get some fresh air, I'm willing to take them wherever! I have a car that can fit your best friend if they like the beach, or the woods, or another fun spot that'll help them get exercise and stimulation while you're away.

About: My name is Bree, I am currently a zoology major at cal poly Humboldt. All my life I have been surrounded by animals (dogs, cats and everything inbetween!). I have extensive experience with all kinds of animals, I worked in a veterinary office for a year and volunteered at the local cat shelter in my hometown for two years. I grew up with two disabled pups, so I’m used to giving pets medication. I’m planning on working part time! Ideally I will only work Three days a week (Tuesdays, wednesdays and Thursdays). However, I can occasionally work weekends if I am contacted prior. I am open to working mornings, afternoons and sometimes nights. I’m pretty much open to anything! I currently own many pets, so I’m more inclined to work at someone else’s home. I love animals and if I were to babysit your pet I’ll spend all the time I can with them while also not smothering them with my attention.
