“Eric is super reliable. He shows up on time and he is very gentle with my anxious dog, Boo. She takes time to become comfortable with new people, and she is off to a good start with Eric.”

“Julia was so great watching our puppy! She was with him during prime zoomie time but didn’t blink an eye. We would not hesitate to use her for future trips and outings!”

“Kerri was great! We needed someone to watch our dog while we went to my bridal shower and Kerri was communicative, helpful, and took great care of Athena. Would definitely book again!”
About: I've been around dogs all my life, I've had three wonderful family dogs growing up with distinct personalities and needs. I have experience with dogs with special needs such as mobility issues, temperment/reactivity issues, and medication regimes. I dogsat my teacher's epileptic poodle when she couldn't be boarded due to her medication needs, helped my neighbor's basset get around during the last years of his life, walked and played with my other neighbor's golden to get his energy out, gave a much-needed bath to a frail elderly minature when his owner passed away, and nursed a sickly puppy back to health while he was being quarantined in my room away from other pets. I believe dogs are unique like people and they all have different boundaries, comfort levels, personalities, and needs, and the secret to the best pet care is getting to know every individual like they are your own loved one. I work part time three days a week (9am-3pm, tues/weds/sat), so I will be gone for my shift for that six hours if I'm dogsitting on those days! Otherwise, I'm available for services all other times except a couple hours every Sunday for my weekly DnD session :-) I'm very flexible and I'm sure we can figure out a schedule that works for both of us, and your pets! I cannot host pets in my own home due to my own pets, but I'm totally willing to come hang out with your pet at your home! I'll take your lead: Want me to hang out there for hours and keep your pet company? Works for me! Want me to only check in every so often, and only enter parts of the home that I absolutely have to? Also fine! Whatever works for you, I can work around it.
“Nikki was wonderful with our Ollie. From the first minute, I knew she was a good dog person, and she kept us well informed about how he was doing throughout our time away. Definitely will use her again. Thank you.”

“Brittany was great to work with. She was a great communicator and left us feeling confident that our home and pets were in good hands. We arrive back home and everything was perfect! Ty so much for the piece of mind that we now have a great sitter.”

“Tom was wonderful! Our dog is usually really nervous around strangers and we’re pretty used to coming home to a skinnier version of her but she seemed to really enjoy being around him. Would definitely ask him to look after them again.”

About: I studied in the Veterinary Assisting program at Nashoba Valley Technical High School for 4 years, and graduated in 2025. During that time, I passed the TVMA Veterinary Assistant Certification (CVA) test. During this time, I became proficient in all of the skills a Veterinary Assistant would be expected to perform, and knowledgeable on relevant topics. I was also the recipient of the Certificate of Merit Achievement for Nashoba Tech’s Veterinary Assisting program. I had an amazing dog of my own who I loved and took care of for 10 years. I have also owned a guinea pig and taken care of numerous family cats throughout my life. I have been taking care of other people’s animals since I was 10 years old, watching the pets of family and friends. I am familiar with the care of all sorts of animals, not just limited to typical household pets. I have a lot of experience with animals with unique needs. My skills include fear free restraint and general handling, wound treatment, administration of medication, providing proper enrichment, and use of CPR. Here are some of the relevant certifications I have received: RESCUE- Veterinary Infection Preventionist Certification (September 2022) OSHA 10-hour Veterinary Certification (June 2022) Fear Free Certification (February 2023) Some of my other achievements: Recipient of the 2023 Massachusetts Student Achievement Award Member of the National Honors Society and National Technical Honors Society Selected attendee of 2023 MIAA Student Leadership Conference If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out! I am working part time as a doordasher, babysitter, and house cleaner, and my schedule is very adaptable. I prefer to schedule things at least two weeks in advance to keep a neat schedule. The farther out you book with me the more likely I am to be available, but I will still try my best to fit things in if they’re last minute. I take special care to ensure the animals I care for feel comfortable around me and are comfortable in their own homes. I always make sure to clean up after the animals and myself.
“Joy did a fabulous job taking care of our pets and our home. She communicated daily and sent photos. Our cats and dog were very happy and looked great when we returned home. Joy also took immaculate care of our home, which we truly appreciated. We will definitely ask Joy to come again in the future.”

About: Hi! I’m Mary Evelyn! I am a full-time preschool teacher with summers off. I love to care for other people‘s pets and put families at ease while they enjoy their summer. I grew up in a house full of pets. We had two dogs, a cat, two ferrets, two parakeets, and a rabbit. Unfortunately, my husband is allergic and we can’t have a pet full-time in our house. To fill that void, I spend my summers loving on your fur babies! My children, 10 and 12, are also animal lovers and often are with me caring for the animals. I am a loving and gentle nurturer. I treat your pets just like my own. This is not just a job for me. This is a choice to keep animals in my life because I know the joy they bring. I love to provide owners with pictures and updates, as many as you want and need. I’m also happy to take care of anything at the house that needs tending – mail, plants, cleaning, etc. I look forward to connecting with you! I have full availability over the summer and I am willing to accommodate any kind of schedule. During the fall and winter, my availability is limited to evenings and weekends. My preference is to care for your pet in your home. My kids (12 and 10) sometimes accompany me, as they also love to care for animals and are learning how to be productive and responsible. If you prefer I solely care for your animals, that is completely fine. I always defer to the client and their pet's needs. If I'm providing boarding in my home, the animal will be restricted to our first floor. I do not have a fenced in yard, so I would provide frequent walks throughout the day.
“Megan did an awesome job taking care of our cat and dog for the weekend. She was a great communicator with us and home and pets looked perfect when we came home! Will love to use her again in the future.”

About: have taken care of dogs since I was 9 years old. My family has two large labs (13 years old and 6 years old) that I helped train since they were puppies. I often watch them for my parents when they go on vacation, so I am very comfortable with overnight care and love taking my pups for long walks. I also had a cat for 3 years in college. I love spending time with all animals!! I graduated college in May and am currently living at home with my family. My days are filled with applying for jobs, going to the gym, making sourdough bread, spending time outdoors, and caring for my dogs. I have a flexible schedule, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time to walks, playtime, and giving pets the attention and companionship they need. I do not offer care in my own home because I want to keep my dogs’ environment comfortable and stress-free. However, I am happy to provide care in your home, where your pet will feel most secure and comfortable. I have a spacious SUV equipped with dog beds and a ramp for my older dog, allowing me to safely transport pets for walks when needed. My priority is always making sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away.
About: I always pay attention to a pets body language, even my own. I also have knowledge of CPR and the Heimlich maneuver on animals and how their size will change the approach. I have a lot of free time to safely, smartly, and comfortably take care of your pets while I work on my physical therapy education The trust of a pet is incredibly important to me. With cautious animals, I always make an effort to show I am not a threat and listen to the signals from even friendly animals.

“Mikayla was awesome with our girls and very professional with our house while we were out of town. We came home to happy dogs and a clean home, she was also very good about communication both before and during the trip. Will absolutely use her again.”

“Indigo was able to sit on short notice when another sitter left a weeks long stay early. They were prompt and communicative and helped me in a touch situation. I had peace of mind knowing that my pets were well cared for.”

“April is amazing and made some new friends! Gave Lilly her meds that she had just received the day before. Managed to get Molly to give up some socks (a task I struggle with!) and and sent Proof of life pics ! I would definitely recommend April”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Westford
Sheylah was wonderful with our very old dog. She went above and beyond learning what her needs and likes were. She is pretty savvy about asking all the right questions in caring for our Annie. I felt very comfortable having Sheylah live in our home while looking after our doggy. If we have the opportunity again to get away, Sheylah will be the first call I make.
We had a wonderful experience with Lisa house sitting and taking care of our senior dog and handful of cats. Our old lady dog had a stressful time without us and Lisa was so patient with her and kept us in the loop the whole time. It was so nice to come home to a house not covered in furr like we normally do, so thank you Lisa! Would highly recommend her and will absolutely use her in the future.

Thrilled to have Jamie help us out over the last week. We felt very comfortable knowing that Jamie's dedication and expertise were on the job. We received regular updates, and when I responded with some very specific concerns (very specific...about bunny behavior related to wellbeing), she immediately responded with knowledge and observations that gave me peace of mind. All pets were happy and healthy upon our return, household was neat and clean, and I was able to relax while we were away. We look forward to working with Jamie again.

We just moved to the area and didn’t feel comfortable leaving our one-year-old pup in the house by herself, so we booked Julianne for big a night out - 5 hours. She was awesome! Took Paisley out for a BIG walk and they hung out. I know Paisley was quite content because she didn’t hear us come in the door 😆. We will be booking again soon. Thank you so much, Julianne!

Brady was great with our 2 dogs who have very strong personalities (one with separation anxiety, the other with over-excitement). He asked informed questions at the meet and greet to get to know them and provided updates and great communication throughout. The dogs were tired and happy upon return home!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Westford walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Westford maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Westford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
