“Audrey was wonderful. She went above and beyond our expectations. My 3 dogs loved her. She played with them and gave them the Attention they needed. I would highly recommend Audrey. We will definitely be using Audrey in the future whenever we go on a trip.”

“Caroline was awesome! She made sure our kittens had plenty of food and water, a clean cat box, and lots of snuggles and playtime while we were on vacation. Will definitely have her watch them again!”

“We give Jacqueline a 10/5!! She is the sweetest and with it being our first time not having family watch our furbabies she made us feel very comfortable going out of town. She sent pictures/videos daily (I told her she needs to be a photographer with the cutest pictures she was sending) & gave detailed updates on Minka. We highly recommend Jacqueline & am so happy we found someone we can trust!!”

“Lauren has been an absolute doll to work with! She is so kind and thoughtful! She’s super communicative and respectful of hour home and always sends the best updates & pics of our pup! He looks so happy in every one of them and I know he’s being well taken care of! I would 100% recommend Lauren to anyone who is looking for a pup sitter! She is so flexible and even does last minute drop ins! Will definitely continue to work with her in the future :)”

“Jordana was great with our dog and with us. She asked good questions before the start of the booking that made everything go smoothly. Would definitely work with her again.”

“Brett and Jessica were amazing with our dog! They went above and beyond each time they came to let him out/walk him! We were provided with great pictures and videos of our dog while they were taking care of him, and he looked like he was having a blast with them! Will definitely be using again in the future!”

“This was our first time working with Olivia. While we have four cats she checked on, the main client for her was a disabled foster dog who’s been through a lot and can be difficult (because of her disabilities). She handled putting her harness on like a champ (which is even difficult for us) and gave her plenty of snuggles and had marvelous patience. When you book time with her for your pets she makes sure to use it all which we appreciated. The cats didn't need attention this time around but our foster dog needed it covers much and watching them interact showed me that our dog was also comfortable with Olivia and that’s very important to us.”
“As always, Melissa did a great job this past month with our little furry friend. It’s great to see the pictures she sends, so we can see how he is doing during the day. I am so glad we have her to rely on with our hectic schedules. Highly recommend!! ❤️”

“Katie was fabulous with our doggo! She provided in home visits 3 times in one day and we appreciated the updates and pics throughout the day. 😃 We will definitely be calling on Katie again!”

“Abigail did such a great job with our hyper boy! Loved the pics and updates. She’s always right on time is very dependable. We’ll definitely be reaching out for more visits!”

About: I am an animal lover. I’ve had pets (cats & dogs) all during my childhood. I am a current Cat Mom and a former Dog Mom. Our pets are family members, and it can be worrisome & stressful when we are away from them. It can ease the mind to know they’re well taken care of in your absence, and we can all relate to this! I work a full-time job remote, and my hours start early in the day. This allows me some flexibility to help during lunch and after work hours. I used to have a dog, which I would take her on regular walks around the neighborhood and the park. I currently have 2 cats at home, ages 9 & 16. They are both fairly independent but they still love scratches, cuddles and pets.
About: What sets me apart is the love and experience I’ve built over the years caring for all kinds of animals. All of my pets have been adopted or rescued by me, and back when I lived in Mexico, I had a small farm where I cared for many animals — at one point, I even bottle-fed 12 puppies at once! That experience taught me patience, compassion, and how to care for animals with different needs, from tiny babies to seniors. Every pet I look after gets the same love and attention I give my own. I have a flexible schedule, which gives me plenty of time to focus on caring for pets throughout the day. On both weekdays and weekends, I’m usually available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., but I can adjust my hours if needed to fit your pet’s routine. I like keeping a little routine with every pet I care for. At home, I follow a feeding schedule and take them out regularly so they stay happy and balanced. I believe structure and love help both of us feel calm and connected every day.

About: Hello! My name is Noah and I am a middle school teacher during the school year and have extra time in the summer doing what I also love, spending time with pets! I have a dog of my own (Tini) who is well trained. I have experience dog sitting/walking in the past with numerous animals and families and I would love to take care of yours! I’m a teacher during the school year and don’t have any official commitments in the summer so my schedule is very flexible! I like to spend my free time working out, playing with my own dog, gaming, and seeing my friends. I have a 6 year old black lab rescue named Tini. Through a lot of hard work, I have helped Tini overcome her past experiences through building trust and spending lots of time together. I will take care of your pet as if it were my own!
“Elliana was amazing! She took the time to come meet with us and our cat, Luci, before we went out of town. Every day during her drop by visits we got updates with photos! Definitely recommend!!”

About: My mother runs my hometown's animal shelter; I built it with her from the ground up when I was eight. Ever since then I have continued to help when I visit home. I have worked with all personality types, breeds, and exceptional cases. I've done hands-on work with elderly pets to newborn puppies and kittens. In addition, I have house-sat for owners with many cats to one, a variety of dogs, and many with specific needs throughout the day. I myself have a dog and it's my top priority to give your pet everything it needs to be happy and healthy as if it were my own. I work weekdays from 9-5:30 pm but my calendar will be updated biweekly on weekends I’m available at this time. Feel free to reach out with any questions regarding scheduling! I always ask for a very detailed list of where the food and treats are kept, special medication, things they can and cannot have, etc. I also want to know their favorite toys, what their personality is like, do they like to play fetch, go on walks, or just to have some company indoors. If the animal has any health conditions I ask if I should be aware of anything other than medication when it comes to their health. If you pet is shy around strangers I ask to be shown the best way to approach them in your experience during the first meeting to ensure your pet feels safe.
“Jessica treats my pup great, he seems so happy when she comes for check ins! She always sends pictures and communicates how the visit went. I highly recommend her!”

“So happy with Hallie’s drop-in visits! She does such an amazing job at taking care of my dogs, always keeping me posted and sending photos! My dogs fully enjoy their time with her, too! Highly recommend Hallie for any of your dog’s needs! ❤️❤️❤️”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Waukee
Jacqueline was wonderful while watching our cat over the Fourth of July weekend! She was incredibly friendly, communicative, and made us feel completely at ease while we were away. She took excellent care of our cat and truly went above and beyond. She even brought in our packages and cleaned up without us asking, which we really appreciated. We would absolutely book with Jacqueline again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful pet sitter!

We’ve had Olivia look after our cat many times over the last year. She has been very caring to our cat and we get good communication throughout the visit. At her last visit our cat got sick and she was amazing at communicating to us and taking our cat to the vet. I was very impressed with how caring and professional she was through that whole process.

First time using Rover. Audrey met with us at our house, and then accommodated a last minute cancellation. We had a wedding this past weekend and Audrey came in twice a day to check on our cat Leon and also gave him lots of attention. She provided small favors of bringing in mail, rolling refuse containers to house, and bring in packages. Fantastic sitter, and several pictures were received after each visit. Highly recommended, she will be our first choice during future travel events,

Lauren was the absolute sweetest. She took amazing care of our 3 kittys and made sure that they had fresh food and water as well as treats. She is a very kind person and is excellent at communication. We absolutely loved the daily updates and photos of our babies. We would definitely book with Lauren again.

From the moment, Amina walked into my home, AJ immediately bonded with her. I knew that she was the perfect one to watch over my kitty, while I was gone. Good communicator. This was my first experience w Rover, so I didn’t know what to expect between my pet sitter & the Rover system.

Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Waukee. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
