We have her coming twice a week weekly and she’s so flexible and accommodating! It’s nice to know our pup is being taken good care of while we are away at work! I will definitely be recommending Melissa to others!”

About: I have had pets my entire adult life, and I know how important it is to you to find the right person to take care of them while you’re away. I am committed to taking care of your pets like they’re my own, and I’m excited to provide lots of love and fun! I work from home, and my husband is a full time dad, so we’d be happy to spend time with your pets, go for walks as a family, and see to their every need! We have pet gates throughout the home, extra kennels if needed, and a fenced in yard. We are also comfortable giving medication orally or via injection if needed.

“This is the second time Audrey has taken care of my cat Trix. Finding her through Rover has been a huge relief, as I never wanted to go through the boarding process. Audrey has been amazing with Trix, who has a little separation anxiety. She is very reliable and I’m confident that she is in the right hands. I can tell she genuinely cares for every animal she takes care of. I highly recommend that anybody looking for a caring and dependable pet sitter, should book with Audrey.”

“Sarah went above and beyond while caring for our Dwight. The photos and daily check ups were outstanding. Her communication was great. This was our first time using Rover and because of how awesome Sarah is we will be contacting her again! Thank you so much!!”

“Jacqueline was great with my two beagles - provided lots of pics and updates at each visit and made me feel comfortable being able to be away. Will def use again!”

“This was our first time using Rover, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Olivia went above and beyond to make sure our dogs were well cared for and comfortable. She was reliable, communicative, and sent us plenty of updates, which gave us total peace of mind while we were away. We came home to happy dogs and a smooth experience from start to finish. We’ll definitely be booking with her again!”

“Caroline did awesome job again with our cats! With one of the cats being diabetic; Caroline had to drop in twice a day (am & pm) to feed and administer insulin. It’s obvious Caroline is a caring & conscientious care provider. I highly recommend!”
“Kiran did a great job with our two dogs! They aren’t left alone much without someone from the family taking care of them but based on the pictures and updates Kiran provided i could tell they did good!”

“Jessica was an excellent choice to catsit while we were away for Christmas. She was very communicative and sent tons of pictures each visit. She was also kind enough to take out our trash, bring in the mail, and she kept the litterbox spotless. I would hire her again in a heartbeat!”

“Lauren has been an absolute doll to work with! She is so kind and thoughtful! She’s super communicative and respectful of hour home and always sends the best updates & pics of our pup! He looks so happy in every one of them and I know he’s being well taken care of! I would 100% recommend Lauren to anyone who is looking for a pup sitter! She is so flexible and even does last minute drop ins! Will definitely continue to work with her in the future :)”

“Christina is truly caring and patient with our cat Spaghettio. She was so kind and made even such a shy cat warm up to her right away. She replies right away and always has your pets interest in mind. I highly recommend Christina!”

About: What sets me apart is the love and experience I’ve built over the years caring for all kinds of animals. All of my pets have been adopted or rescued by me, and back when I lived in Mexico, I had a small farm where I cared for many animals — at one point, I even bottle-fed 12 puppies at once! That experience taught me patience, compassion, and how to care for animals with different needs, from tiny babies to seniors. Every pet I look after gets the same love and attention I give my own. I have a flexible schedule, which gives me plenty of time to focus on caring for pets throughout the day. On both weekdays and weekends, I’m usually available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., but I can adjust my hours if needed to fit your pet’s routine. I like keeping a little routine with every pet I care for. At home, I follow a feeding schedule and take them out regularly so they stay happy and balanced. I believe structure and love help both of us feel calm and connected every day.

About: Hello! My name is Noah and I am a middle school teacher during the school year and have extra time in the summer doing what I also love, spending time with pets! I have a dog of my own (Tini) who is well trained. I have experience dog sitting/walking in the past with numerous animals and families and I would love to take care of yours! I’m a teacher during the school year and don’t have any official commitments in the summer so my schedule is very flexible! I like to spend my free time working out, playing with my own dog, gaming, and seeing my friends. I have a 6 year old black lab rescue named Tini. Through a lot of hard work, I have helped Tini overcome her past experiences through building trust and spending lots of time together. I will take care of your pet as if it were my own!
“Katie was fabulous with our doggo! She provided in home visits 3 times in one day and we appreciated the updates and pics throughout the day. 😃 We will definitely be calling on Katie again!”

About: I have had dogs all of my life, and have had the responsibility of walking, feeding, and playing with them for as long as I can remember. I have also dog sat on many different occasions for friends and enjoy this a lot. I just graduated from Liberty university in Virginia! I currently work remote for a marketing agency, and am a Crossfit coach at Redline Crossfit! With my job being remote I have plenty of flexibility with my schedule so should be able to do walks or drop ins very frequently! I plan to care for pets in my clients home by building trust with the client as well as their pet. I think it's best to try and create an environment that is similar if not entirely the same as what the pet is used too, whether that be routines, or other things.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Waukee
Jacqueline was wonderful while watching our cat over the Fourth of July weekend! She was incredibly friendly, communicative, and made us feel completely at ease while we were away. She took excellent care of our cat and truly went above and beyond. She even brought in our packages and cleaned up without us asking, which we really appreciated. We would absolutely book with Jacqueline again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful pet sitter!

We’ve had Olivia look after our cat many times over the last year. She has been very caring to our cat and we get good communication throughout the visit. At her last visit our cat got sick and she was amazing at communicating to us and taking our cat to the vet. I was very impressed with how caring and professional she was through that whole process.

First time using Rover. Audrey met with us at our house, and then accommodated a last minute cancellation. We had a wedding this past weekend and Audrey came in twice a day to check on our cat Leon and also gave him lots of attention. She provided small favors of bringing in mail, rolling refuse containers to house, and bring in packages. Fantastic sitter, and several pictures were received after each visit. Highly recommended, she will be our first choice during future travel events,

Lauren was the absolute sweetest. She took amazing care of our 3 kittys and made sure that they had fresh food and water as well as treats. She is a very kind person and is excellent at communication. We absolutely loved the daily updates and photos of our babies. We would definitely book with Lauren again.

From the moment, Amina walked into my home, AJ immediately bonded with her. I knew that she was the perfect one to watch over my kitty, while I was gone. Good communicator. This was my first experience w Rover, so I didn’t know what to expect between my pet sitter & the Rover system.

Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
