“Rachel did a great job taking care of Remy and spoiling him while we were away. Our pup is very timid and he did great with her. She also hauled in quite a few packages that arrived earlier than expected before they could get soaked with snow!”

“Emily was absolutely wonderful with my dogs! She was reliable, communicative, and gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. She kept me updated with photos and messages, and it was clear my pups were happy, comfortable, and well cared for. I could tell she genuinely loves animals and treated them like her own. I came home to happy dogs and a stress-free experience. I would highly recommend Emily to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter!”

“Troy helped us out in a pinch today and was able to add an additional drop-in at the last minute. Our golden retriever has a mind of her own and he successfully navigated her routine. I will definitely contact Troy again.”

“Alexandra did a fantastic job feeding my cats. It has been difficult to find reliable pet sitters but Alexandra was amazing. It was easy to communicate with her throughout the entire time, from booking her services to getting our key back.”

“We just returned from a 2 week trip, and Cory provided care for our 5 cats. He did a fabulous job! 3 of the cats were elusive, but the other 2 warmed up to him. He saw to all of their needs, and also fed the birds and squirrels for us. He did all we asked of him, and I was confident that they were in good hands. I highly recommend Cory, and will reach out to him for future needs. Thank you, Cory for the great job.”

“Krystal is absolutely amazing! Our dog Nova is scared of all strangers. Krystal was so patient and kind to Nova and was able to gain her trust. I highly recommend Krystal to anyone needing someone to care for their dog!!”

“instantly felt comfortable with hannah! positive energy and clearly loves animals. a great communicator, great photos, would book again. thank you, hannah! m+o”

“Lisa has a kind heart and my two cats knew that about her immediately. Usually shying from strangers they came to her right away. In addition to feeding, watering, and cleaning up after them she also brushed them, played with them, and gave medication. Her daily photos gave me the peace of mind that they were okay without me and that I could get away.”

“Dachshunds approved. I booked Morgan for drop in visits while we were out of town. I was kind of nervous on how my 2 judgy wienerdogs would do, but somehow she won them over, and the pictures she sent proved it. So happy it all worked out.”

“Monica is just the best!!!!! My kitties are very shy but they warmed up to her so quick which I love! She cleaned up my counter and swept my bathroom. Monica, thank you so much for everything!”

About: I have well over 24 years caring for dogs. I believe a house isn't a home without a dog. We (me and my family) lost our dog, Teddy, about 11/2 years ago. It has been very hard living without him. I still look for him at the door whenever I come home. We are still heartbroken from his passing. Someday we hope to find the courage to love again. Until then we want to love on all the doggies that come to stay and play with us. When your dog is here he/she is part of our family. Please be willing to come by with your pup for a meet & greet before any reservations are made. Our main concern is that you are completely comfortable leaving your fur-baby with us. I care for your dog as if he/she were my own. We will go on walks to Greenbelt Park, Grays Lake, and all throughout our neighborhood. We can play fetch in our yard. Also, belly rubs are a must :)
About: I’ve grown up on a farm loving animals. I currently have two dogs myself and just love the opportunity to make a pet’s day part of my day. I do work a full time job currently but have plenty of time in the evening to drop in on your pet. Eventually, I’m hoping to make this more of a full time schedule. I can easily crate your dog if needed. I’m happy to let them out, take them for walks, spend time for snuggles or play and even feed them a meal if necessary.
“Kassy is very gentle and quickly developed a good rapport with our anxious rescue, Rio. She’s easy to work with and very flexible. We’re grateful for her.”

“Nejra is amazing. She came and met Bear and was very loving. She cared for my boy and gave him all the love he deserves! I would definitely rebook with her with no doubt in my mind!”

“Emily always takes such great care of my sunny and he adores her! She listens to concerns I have as a new puppy mom and always makes sure I stay informed as to how my little guy is doing while I’m at work and away . Her commitment to dogs shows and gives me peace of mind that my puppy is taken care of when I can’t be there .”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Urbandale
Sincerely amazing, took pictures of everything that I wouldve asked for without me even having to ask. Super sweet and considerate detailed notes with every visit. Cleaned up any messes which was so sweet. One of the few people on here that really knows how to care for cats and does so excellently. My cats loved her especially my scaredy cat who is afraid of everyone. I sincerely do not believe I’d book with anyone else after this amazing expirence.

We were truly lucky to have Dawn as our cat sitter for nine days while we were traveling outside of the US. From the very beginning, it was clear that she genuinely cared for Boogie and Ollie and treated them as if they were her own. She followed all of our detailed instructions carefully and kept us updated, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. I know it can be challenging to care for pets in someone else's home, especially when there are many little routines and preferences to remember, but Dawn did a fantastic job. Our cats were happy, comfortable, and well cared for when we returned home. We sincerely appreciate her help, professionalism, and the kindness she showed to our cats. We would gladly trust her with Boogie and Ollie again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter.

Ashly was so kind & caring towards our elderly kitties while we were away. She stopped in twice a day to visit and give medications - they were definitely spoiled by the special attention! She let me know when one wasn’t acting normally and checked in an extra visit just to make sure all was well. Can’t wait to have her care for them again. 💕

Arielle was great! I felt so reassured that my cat was being well taken care of in my absence. She sent me daily update pics of my cat too. Found everything to be in order when I came back and she also helped fix my litter robot when it went offline unexpectedly!

Allyson did an excellent job looking after my cat, Apollo! She visited on short notice to meet him beforehand and ask questions. She visited often and was very communicative, providing updates and photos throughout the duration. Even through the snowstorm she did her best to get here and make sure he was well taken care of! I would definitely recommend her!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Urbandale. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
