Cats

Availability

I have a ton of flexibility this summer before my full-time corporate job starts up in the fall. Since I'm new to the area and don't have a rigid daily schedule yet, I'm pretty much wide open for morning, afternoon, or evening drop-ins. This makes it super easy for me to stick to your cat's exact feeding or routine times without having to rush through the visit.

About Geni W.

Safety, trust & environment

When I’m doing drop-ins, keeping your cat safe and your home secure is a big deal to me. I’m careful about locking up, setting alarms if you have them, and watching out for sneaky door-darters when I’m coming and going (cats have a sixth sense for open doors, I swear). I’ll stick to whatever instructions you give me, exact food measurements, favorite hiding spots to check on, all of it. And before I head out I always do one more walkthrough, just to double check everything’s locked up and your kitty’s safe and accounted for.

Information Geni W. would like to know about your pet

Since I only work with cats, it really helps to know how they are around new people. Are they the type to come investigate right away, or do they usually disappear under the bed when someone new walks in? Feeding routine and portions are good to know too, along with any favorite hiding spots I should check on. If they have any medical needs, dietary stuff, or toys they’re obsessed with, definitely share that as well. The more I know about their usual routine going in, the easier it is to keep things feeling normal for them while you’re gone.

A typical day

When I arrive I always let your cat set the pace, giving them a chance to sniff me out and get comfortable before I do anything else. From there I take care of the basics: fresh food, clean water bowls, and a thorough litter scoop. Once that’s all done the rest of the visit is really just about them. If they’re playful we’ll break out their favorite toys, and if they’re more of a lounge-around type (or just not feeling social that day), I’m happy to sit nearby, offer some chin scratches, or give them a good brushing. Before I leave I do a quick check to make sure everything’s locked up and they’re settled, then I’ll shoot you a few photos so you can see how they’re doing!

Pet care experience

Hi! I’m Geni, and cats are basically my whole thing. A lot of sitters here are more dog-focused, but I’ve loved cats my whole life and that’s where my real experience is. Whether it’s a hyper kitten or a grumpy old senior, I get that cats do best with their normal routine, some patience, and not being pushed into attention they don’t want. I grew up with cats and volunteered at a shelter for a while, so I’ve gotten pretty good at reading their body language. Like knowing when a shy cat just wants me nearby (not bothering them), vs. when a more outgoing one is dying for playtime. For drop-ins I cover the basics: fresh food and water, a properly cleaned litter box, and some real one-on-one time, whether that’s play or just chin scratches. I’m also careful about home security (doors locked, nothing left open), and I’ll send you plenty of photo updates so you know everything’s good while you’re away (plus you get some cute cat pics out of it, bonus for you).

I’ve been with Geni for six years, and she is easily the biggest cat lover I know. Her whole family is huge with animals, and she’s spent her entire life caring for cats and learning their unique personalities. She is incredibly responsible, deeply respects their boundaries, and always prioritizes their safety and comfort. I would trust her with any pet without a single hesitation.
