Lauren assisted this morning with a drop-in visit for my cat, June. June went rouge and decided to knock over his Furbo treat dispenser, causing it to malfunction. Lauren magically repaired the Furbo device, fed & played with June & sent a ton of cool pictures 😊. Literally saved the day! 👍🏼

About: I have taken care of both cats and dogs growing up. I have always enjoyed playing with them and going out on walks. In addition I have experience bathing, grooming, and feeding them. Moreover I have volunteer experience cleaning up after and feeding animals at Sweet Olive Farm. I am working part time, however I should be free most weekend days for check ins or dog walking. I will also be available on weekends for dog sitting. Having pets growing up I would always ensure they had enough water and would feed them on their regular schedule. But most importantly I believe all pets need enrichment time. For house sitting I will uphold this standard. For walks I will make sure they get to sniff to their hearts content.

About: @ahartpetsitting on insta!! I’ve been taking care of animals as long as I can remember. Hermit crabs, guinea pigs, lizards, fish, chickens, you name it! I just love every animal, and I still believe that they can speak, just not when we’re in the room. I work professionally with dogs every single day as a manager of a dog care facility. I’m known for liking the “bad dogs” at work along with special needs and older pets as well (I love powdered sugar faces)! I treat each animal as my own, and I would do the same with yours! I work full time as a manager at a doggy daycare, I would be able to get you a registration forms and take your pup to work with me if you’d like! My job is very flexible so I can also come home at any point and let your pup out instead of bringing them with me. I am also open to not working during the time I care for your pet. Message me and let’s talk! If you don’t have a dog, I am more than happy to talk with you and figure out if I need to come home for breaks or not work! I care for each pet exactly how owners ask me too, just with lots of extra love! I can chill if that’s what your pet likes to do, or I can adventure. I love being outside in nature as well as cozying up on the couch :)

Aubrey replied promptly to our pet sitting request and scheduled a visit to meet our cats that evening. She was very comfortable handling and giving medication to our senior kitty with hyperthyroidism. She let us know she was coming before each visit and sent multiple photos and videos of each of our cats, including the one who likes to hide. When we forgot that we had a Chewy order coming, she unboxed the items and put them away and she brought in our deliveries. She also agreed to an extra visit on our return date, when we were worried that we would get in late. We were pleased with the care she provided to our pets and would hire her again.

About: Hey, everyone! My name is Vivian, and I’m a psychology student at UGA with a deep love for animals. I’m dedicated to providing top-notch care for your pets, and here’s what you can expect from me: - Range of services: I’m here for your dogs, cats, fish, and even frogs! Whether it’s check-ups, walks, or overnight care, I’ve got it covered. - Specialized training: For over a year, I’ve been training pups aged 8 weeks to 2 years to become service animals through the Guide Dog Foundation and America’s Vet Dogs. This experience has taught me how to keep pups safe, happy, and well-behaved. - Experienced dog owner: With nearly 20 years of dog ownership, I’ve raised three wonderful dogs and currently care for two senior pups. I can administer medication and understand the patience and extra love that senior dogs need. - Care for anxious pets: I’m familiar with caring for rescue animals and pets with anxiety, including my own rescue dog, Rascal. If your pets are anxious, I’ll provide them with the same love, care, and patience that I give to Rascal. I look forward to meeting your furry (or scaly!) family members and ensuring they receive the best care possible. As a student at UGA (go dawgs!), I attend morning classes and can generally care for your pets on weekdays before class, in the afternoon, and in the evening, and I am free any time during the weekend! In your home, I’ll make sure your pet's routine stays as close to normal as possible, giving them plenty of love, exercise, and playtime. I’ll treat your home with care, keep you updated with cute photos, and ensure your furry friend feels comfortable and cherished while you’re away.

About: I have been a big animal lover since I was little. I started pet sitting for friends and family in high school and I started volunteering at my local animal shelter in college. I currently am an Animal Care Tech at UGA and work with animals like cats, dogs, and mice daily! I am also very comfortable administering most medications I currently work full time as an Animal Care Tech at UGA from 8-4 on M-F so I can care for your pet early mornings or in the afternoon/evenings! If you need someone during the weekdays to let your pet out frequently (they can’t go 8 hours without a bathroom break) I may not be the sitter for you. I have more availability to let them out during weekends, but if you have any questions just shoot me a message! Safety is my #1 concern when it comes to your pet! I have many years of animal care experience and I am trained to handle most safety issues when it comes to animals. I want to treat your pet like they’re my own!

About: I grew up with dogs in my house and grew up taking care of them when parents were out of town. In recent years, I have been asked by friends and family to care for their lovely dogs. I enjoy playing with the pups and giving them some sense of comfort while their owners are away. I am a full-time student at UGA, but I only have classes in person for three days of the week. Other than that, as well as perhaps a church event here and there, I am available to be at home with your pups and spend the night! I cannot accept pets in my home, but I will ensure safety when in your home. I lock all the doors at night and lock up when leaving the house!

About: I have had the privilege of growing up in a dog-living home and have been blessed with furry friends my whole life. When I was about 10, I realized that I could be my dog's favorite if I walked her, fed her, and played with her. So, I did just that. I have always been the person my neighbors asked to dog-sit and I have volunteered at animal shelters for many years! I just graduated from the University of Georgia and just moved back to Nashville. I have a part-time job right now, and I would love to hang out with and take care of your pup(s) in my free time! Your pup will be well taken care of, safe, and loved. I would love to watch your dog for the day, or overnight at your home, if needed!

About: Hello! My name is Gina and I am very excited to be a part of this community. I have years of experience with dog walking, pet feeding, and boarding pets. I have house & pet sat multiple times throughout the years and I absolutely love it. To be honest, I cannot afford a pet myself at the moment, so in the meantime I hope you'll share yours with me! Also I work from my computer, so my schedule is very flexible. Which means more time to spend with your fur babies. I am very responsible, friendly, and believe open communication is the ticket. I do not smoke, and have a clean record. I have my own vehicle. And most importantly, I can't wait to meet you!

About: While I've had pets my entire life, I've professionally cared for the animals of others for nearly 10 years. While I was in the Army, I fostered for a local rescue and did the basic training and socialization for young, abandoned puppies to get them ready for forever homes. While pursuing my BS of Animal Science at ISU (Class of '19) I worked at Lloyd Veterinary Medical Hospital with equines of all ages, and spent several years as professional Animal caretaker working at the USDA with small animals. I have experience with dogs and cats, young and old, as well as rodents and other small animal pets, geckos, and freshwater aquarium fish. I am semi-retired, and work my own hours part time so schedule is flexible and it's easy for me to fit your pet(s) into my daily life Your pets will be most comfortable in their own environment, and I am committed to caring for them in a way most similar to what they are accustomed to.

FAQs for Drop-In Visits - Watkinsville

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of June 2026, there are 1,076 sitters on Rover offering Dog Sitting across Watkinsville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Watkinsville stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Watkinsville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Watkinsville with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Watkinsville. On Rover:

  • 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 99% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
