“I’ve previously taken my dog Teddy to 2 other providers on Rover and Darrilyn has by far provided the most exceptional care! She truly cares for the fur babies like they’re her own! I could tell that Teddy had tons of fun at her house as he came home exhausted from playing with the other pup she was watching! She sent picture and text updates and he seemed comfortable with her. 100% recommend Darrilyn if you want someone trustworthy and loving to watch your dog! She will definitely be my first choice in the future!”

About: Over the past year, I have been actively pet sitting for friends, caring for both dogs and cats with different personalities, routines, and needs. My experience includes feeding, walking, playtime, companionship, litter box care, and following specific instructions to ensure pets feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. I am retired and have a very flexible schedule and am available most days for pet sitting, walking, and playtime, except when I’m traveling occasionally. My journey into Rover boarding comes from a place of deep love for dogs. After 11 wonderful years together, my beloved dog passed away two years ago. While my heart has healed, I missed the joyful energy, the sound of paws on the floor, and the companionship of a dog in the house. I chose to start pet boarding because it allows me to pour all that lifetime of accumulated love, patience, and spoiling into your furry baby! When your pet stays with me, they won't just be "looked after"—they will be treated with the exact same deep devotion, warmth, and care that I gave my own boy for over a decade. I will only take one pet a time for boarding. Pet will enjoy completely unrestricted, free roam of our home, plenty of one-on-one attention, and a daily routine tailored exactly to their comfort level. Please bring your pets food and treats. If your pet has favorite bed/blanket/toy, bring them, otherwise they can use our dog bed, our sofa and, my bed! Small or medium size dogs (<40 lb).
“Mike provided outstanding care for our husky and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable while we were away. He checked in with us multiple times throughout the day, kept us updated with plenty of photos, and made sure our dog was happy, safe, and well taken care of. We’ve never had such a positive experience with someone watching our dog and it gave us real peace of mind knowing Mike was so attentive and reliable. We would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter!”

“Justine is so compassionate with my dog. She assured me he would be at home and he is. I appreciate the interaction her family and cats with my pup. He comes home happy and tired. I highly recommend Justine.”

“Victoria was responsive and able to take care of Luna in a last minute request within the hour. Luna had a fantastic time playing with cats and her good boy Cowboy. I will definitely use Victoria again!”

“Pallavi did a fantastic job caring for our 18- month old Goldendoodle ,Bruce. She is very flexible and accommodated our last minute reservation. She made sure Bruce was comfortable and provided regular updates and shared photos.”

“Maria has been a LIFE SAVER for me. I work full time in Chicago and I needed someone who was able to take my dog M-F but I didn't want to bring my dog to an impersonal day care. That's when I found Maria. I really love that Oliver (my dog) is safe in Maria's home and also able to go to the dog park everyday. When I pick him up he is a very happy and tired dog! I could not have asked for a better situation and we consider Maria part of the family. She treats my dog as if he was her own and for that I am so thankful.”

“Jamie & Ritz are wonderful guardians to Maeve. They consistently throughout the day kept me posted on how she’s doing, and Toffee made her feel very welcome in their home. I highly recommend, and I plan to rebook with them again!”

About: I’ve been an animal lover and hands-on pet caregiver for as long as I can remember. Over the years, I’ve cared for dogs, birds, rabbits, and fish—so I’m comfortable with a wide range of personalities, needs, and routines. My heart dog was a golden retriever I raised from just 8 weeks old through nearly 16 wonderful years. She was family in every sense of the word. I walked with her through every stage of life—including serious health challenges like cancer—and made sure she was surrounded by comfort, love, and dignity until the very end. That experience shaped how I approach pet care: patient, attentive, and deeply compassionate. Since then, I’ve opened my home to fostering and have cared for a variety of breeds and temperaments, including a small German Shepherd mix, Aussie, Border Collie, Plott Hound mix, and others. I’m comfortable with just about all dogs, shy or anxious, and those who just need a steady, calm presence. However I don't currently accept dogs over 50 pounds. When considering boarding, my situation is best for small- to medium-sized dogs or older dogs that don't require a lot of outdoor space for play would be best if they are staying with me. I am only accepting dogs that can be crated when I am not at home. When your pet is with me, they won’t just be “watched”—they’ll be cared for like family. Whether that means walks, playtime, sticking closely to their routine, or simply giving them a safe, relaxed environment, I adapt to what your pet needs most. I want to clarify that my living situation is in a condominium. The only choices in the app are house or apartment and my situation is neither. I live in a small four-unit building in a condominium complex, not far from Cantigny. I am on the board of the homeowners association as well. My unit is on the first floor with a patio and lovely grounds to walk right outside the door. This is a very quiet community. I understand what it takes to entrust your pet to someone you've just met, and I take that trust very seriously. My goal is simple: for you to feel confident and for your pet to feel safe, happy, and loved. I work a sporadic part time schedule at The Morton Arboretum which involves no more than 8 hours per week at this time. I have a lot of free time to dedicate to your pet. When I am with your pet, I will be 100% focused on your pet. I will take no chances with your pet's safety, carefully monitoring the space they are in, toys they play with, etc.
“I couldn't be happier with the care our puppy received during his first stay with Ashley. From the moment I dropped him off, I felt confident that he was in great hands. I received frequent updates and adorable pictures and videos throughout the day, which really put our minds at ease. The activities she planned were perfect for keeping him engaged and learning. When I picked him up, he was happy and completely worn out from all the fun! We will definitely be booking with Ashley again. Highly recommend!”

“Danielle was absolutely phenomenal.! She truly went above and beyond of what I expected of care for King. She was very comfortable and knowledgeable of his breed and handled him with great care & even thought me a few training points. So thankful for her and accepting my booking at such short notice as well. 10/10 ⭐️”

About: I grew up in a big family , we always had pets from dogs-hamsters! And we took care as if they were part of the family . I am compassionate, and I would love your animals and care for them and treat them with kindness as if they were family. As a mom of 5 older kids, I’ve gotten really good at balancing routines and staying organized. Now that they’re more independent, I have lots of free time in my day to dedicate to caring for pets, giving them attention, exercise, and a reliable schedule. I did have 3 cats and 1 dog at one time before. They still are part of the family they live with family members and I visit them time to time and they come to my house as well. I love walking dogs and taking care of animals that are only comfortable in your home. I am a trust worthy person when it comes to someone trusting me in their home. Clients should know that their home and their pet are well taken care of and respected.

“Sharon was amazing!! From the minute we went for our “meet n greet” I knew my dogs would be spoiled, happy and loved. They ran to the door when we got to her house for their 1st day and from the pictures she sent, looks like the fun and exercise lasted all day. They slept the entire rest of the day and night!!! We will definitely use Sharon again and appreciate that she took care of them as her own.”

“I recently rescued a puppy and needed some extra hands while I went to work. My pup, Linda, visits Paula & Brandon 2-3 times a week and it has been nothing short of an absolute pleasure and breeze. I highly recommend their services to anyone in need of helping hand that comes with lots of love & peace of mind for you and your furbabies! Thank you Paula & Brandon (+ the kiddos too of course) !”
