Audrey was great right from the meet and greet and on! Millie, who is usually very timid, warmed up to her in seconds. Audrey was a great support walking my dog while a family member who can no longer walk her far watched her. She was extremely punctual and great with communicating all aspects of their walks. Highly recommend.

Amber is very friendly and follows direction. She sends updates and pictures from her walks and refills Diesel’s “busy ball” with treats before she leaves him, which I’m sure he appreciates. She is our go-to for walks and we will continue to use her as long as she is available!

About: Geof is a recently retired professional, dedicated and responsible pet owner with over 30 years experience taking care of family pets (from puppies to senior dogs). He is reliable, kind, and punctual. He worked his way through college as the weekend manager of the Robert Potter League for Animals in Middletown Rhode Island. Since retiring he pet sits regularly for his children. As a recently-retired professional I have plenty of time to care for your pet. I own a home with a large fenced in yard, which is wonderful for playing and exploring. I reside in a very walkable/dog-friendly neighborhood. I am available for boarding on weekends and weekdays after 1:00 PM. I am open to walking pets and daily drop-ins as well. I have a large enclosed yard and occasionally pet sit for my children's dogs. Their dogs (Forgie and Greta) are friendly and comfortable being around other dogs. My house is clean, quiet, and peaceful. Southern exposure provides sunlit, cozy spaces for your dogs to enjoy. I have mini-split AC to keep your pup cool on hot summer days.

Britney is the best! I am so happy we chose her to walk Ford. She is always transparent and goes above and beyond to make sure we’re kept in the loop! It never feels good to leave your pup at home to go to work, but we are so grateful that Britney could get Ford out and moving, and he loves her!! She genuinely cares, I would recommend her 100x over! 🤗

She takes Hank out on adventures and sends awesome pictures and videos documenting what they do. We are forever grateful for Rover for connecting us with Hunter!

About: I have been passionate about dogs since I was 10 years old. Throughout the years, I have gained a wealth of experience in dog sitting, walking, and general care. My love for dogs and my experience has allowed me to provide a safe and comfortable environment for dogs while their owners are away. I understand that leaving your furry friend in someone else's care can be stressful, which is why I work closely with the owners to ensure that their dog's specific needs and routines are met Available for walks and drop in visits! Schedule ahead for dog sitting at your home Available for walks and drop ins before 4pm 7 days per week When it comes to caring for pets in my clients' homes, my main priority is to ensure that their furry friend feels safe, comfortable, and happy while their owners are away. I understand that each pet has unique needs, which is why I work closely with my clients to understand their pet's routines, habits, and preferences. I make sure to follow the instructions provided by the pet's owner and provide regular updates on how the pet is doing. In terms of dog sitting, I am able to provide a safe and comfortable environment for the dog in the familiar setting of their own home. I make sure to provide plenty of exercise, playtime, and attention to keep the dog happy and comfortable. I am able to administer medication if required and can provide food and water as per the instructions provided. For cat sitting, I will make sure to keep their routine as normal as possible, such as feeding, grooming, and playtime. I will also clean the litter box and make sure the cat has plenty of water and food (just leave special instructions for disposal and feeding) I am also available for overnight pet sitting, which allows the pet to sleep in their own bed and stick to their regular routine. I understand that leaving your pet in someone else's care can be stressful, which is why I make sure to provide updates and pictures during the pet's stay with me. Overall, my goal is to provide the highest level of care for your pet and make sure they feel loved and comfortable while you're away.

Alexandria is great with my dog, Teddy. She walked him often this summer and was flexible with my changing work schedule. The neighbor even told me that he was much better behaved with her than with me. She was really good about listening to him when he was nervous or too hot and taking him back home to be comfortable.

About: I’ve been caring for animals my entire life and have volunteered at shelters since I was young. I regularly foster dogs through Paws New England, so I’m experienced with dogs of all ages, temperaments, and backgrounds, including those adjusting to new environments. I also have hands-on experience with anxiety and fear-based reactivity through my own dog, which has taught me patience, structure, and how to effectively read canine body language. While I’m not a certified trainer, I’ve spent years learning and applying positive reinforcement training methods and behavior management techniques. I’ve been vegan for decades and protecting animals and ensuring their safety and comfort is something I take seriously in every aspect of my life. I treat every dog in my care with the same attention, compassion, and respect as my own. I work from home, so your dog will have plenty of attention, supervision, and companionship throughout the day. I can accommodate different energy levels, whether your pup prefers relaxing and napping much of the day at home or getting out more frequently for exercise or enrichment. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I live in a quiet, safe neighborhood that’s great for walks, with nearby trails and beach access for enrichment (if appropriate for your dog). I’m very mindful of each dog’s needs and temperament, especially those who may be anxious or adjusting. In my home, dogs are kept separate from my senior dog to ensure a calm, low-stress environment for everyone. I take introductions, boundaries, and routines seriously and always prioritize a safe, structured, and positive experience.

  • 94% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
