About: I am such an animal person- they are the best friends and sweetest creatures. I’m incredibly passionate about animal caretaking; I love meeting people’s pets and getting to know their personalities and quirks. I’ve been taking care of pets since I was young; I dogsat for families in my neighborhood and took care of my two cats. Before she passed, I took care of my senior cat Jasmine, so I also have experience in senior animal care. I currently walk, feed and take care of dogs in the local area while I work as a teaching assistant and master's student at NMSU. Additionally, I volunteer at a local animal shelter to take care of and keep company furry friends! Pet care is an important part of my routine; its good exercise and being around animals is one of my favorite things. Sometimes the best part of my day is when I get to meet a little friend! I really enjoy spending time with them outside as well. Before animal sitting, I make sure I go over the pet’s needs with the owner, any triggers, boundaries and environmental hazards. I make sure to be cleanly and efficient while making sure that the pet feels comfortable and engaged with!
“Audrey was great right from the meet and greet and on! Millie, who is usually very timid, warmed up to her in seconds. Audrey was a great support walking my dog while a family member who can no longer walk her far watched her. She was extremely punctual and great with communicating all aspects of their walks. Highly recommend.”

About: Although I'm new to Rover, I'm not new to caring for pets. I've provided pet sitting and drop-in care for friends and friends of friends, giving me experience with dogs and cats of different personalities, routines, and energy levels. As a dog owner myself, I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet. Owning my own dog has taught me the value of patience, enrichment, positive interactions, and paying attention to each dog's individual personality and needs. I know every pet is unique, so I take the time to learn their routine, preferences, and what helps them feel comfortable and happy. I'm an active person who genuinely enjoys getting outside for walks and adventures, and I love making sure dogs have the opportunity to explore, sniff, and enjoy their time outside at their own pace. Whether your dog loves a longer adventure walk, a game of fetch, or simply some extra companionship, I'll make sure they get the attention and care they deserve. For cats and more relaxed pets, I'm just as happy spending quality time keeping them company, playing with their favorite toys, or providing a calm and comforting presence while you're away. My goal is simple: to provide dependable, compassionate care so you can leave knowing your pet is safe, happy, and treated like one of my own. I'll keep you updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind while you're away. I currently have a flexible summer schedule, which allows me to be available for walks, drop-in visits, and check-ins on a variety of days and times. I enjoy being able to provide pets with attention, exercise, and companionship when their families need an extra hand. Once the school year begins, my availability will become more structured as I return to teaching, but I will continue to update my schedule and communicate clearly to make sure I can provide reliable care for the pets I commit to. Your pet's safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. I know how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member and your home, and I take that responsibility seriously. Before each visit or walk, I will take the time to learn your pet's routine, personality, and any specific needs or preferences. I believe every pet is different, and I want to make sure they feel comfortable and cared for while you're away. I understand that some dogs may be nervous, shy, or need extra patience when experiencing new people, places, or situations. I will always take the time to build trust, pay attention to their body language, and adjust my approach based on what helps them feel safe and confident. For walks, I focus on creating a safe and enjoyable experience by paying attention to your dog's energy level, surroundings, and comfort. Whether your dog enjoys an energetic adventure or a slower walk with plenty of time to sniff and explore, I will follow their pace and needs. During drop-in visits, I will treat your home with the same respect I would want for my own. I will follow your instructions carefully, keep your pet's routine consistent, and provide updates with photos and messages so you can feel confident knowing they are happy and cared for. My goal is to create a safe, positive experience for both you and your pet—giving you peace of mind while your furry friend enjoys some extra love and attention.

About: Hello! This is my first time using Rover/pet sitting outside of my family and I’m very excited to meet new and adorable animals! I have experience with dogs, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs. I am also a quick learner willing and eager to take care of nearly any kind of pet (reptiles, birds, fish) if necessary! My mom was a vet most of my life, so much of my experience and knowledge has come from watching her take care of our pets. I am not medically trained in any capacity, I have just had a wide range of experience with dogs and cats. I have my own car and I am currently unemployed. I’m available in the afternoons after 1 on weekdays and pretty much anytime on weekends! Contact me anytime for my availability! Safety is paramount when it comes to your furry (or hairless) friends! Whether outside on walks, in the yard, or even inside; I will be sure to have eyes on your animal and the environment at all times. I have had several negative experiences with my own dogs on leashes and I feel comfortable putting myself in between both my animals and yours and whatever may try to harm them.
“Alexandria is great with my dog, Teddy. She walked him often this summer and was flexible with my changing work schedule. The neighbor even told me that he was much better behaved with her than with me. She was really good about listening to him when he was nervous or too hot and taking him back home to be comfortable.”

“I was in need of last minute care for Rocky and I sent a request out to a bunch of people. Amanda responded immediately and was willing to help! She made sure she understood the care instructions I provided and took him on a great walk, and most importantly he loved her. I’ll definitely be using Amanda again after the holidays.”

About: I currently work at the Newport Navy Base at All Paws On Deck doggie day care. I have been there for about a year and am currently one of the lead staff members there taking care of the dogs. I have learned so much on dog behavior and safety. Since working there it has ignited an interest to become a dog trainer. The joy that dogs bring to my life has been so rewarding and I love every minute of my job and being with all my furry friends. I have grown up with always having a dog in my life and had parents that instilled responsibility that came along with it. I have watched and been responsible for friends and neighbors dogs when a helping hand is needed. My up bringing with always having a dog was that they are not just an animal but another member of the family and have to be treated as such. I have been very lucky to have had grown up with amazing dogs. I have rescued 2 beautiful greyhounds that were former racers in Florida. This particular breed is my passion due to the challenges it gives to teach them how to transition from the track to home life. This breed typically has never been inside a home and needs to be taught everything! Stairs, Windows, glass sliding doors, furniture, a yard, trust, and having her own toys and bed. This has taught me so much on how to relate to the dog and learn how they see life. My life currently when im not working is spending time with my family and enjoying the "island life" in Portsmouth. It is my husband and I along with our two boys and Anita (my greyhound). I work part time at the doggie day care. My availability time is flexible. I work half days so im available in the morning or afternoon depending on the day. I will respect the clients home and their pets boundaries and needs. I see it as entering their safe space and would not want them to feel that I am there to change that or threaten that.
“Megan is an exemplary dog companion. Gidget loves her, and I always trust Megan to be professional, friendly and prompt. Megan is also flexible considerate of time. I highly recommend her.”

About: I have taken care of both big and small dogs. Whether it be overnight care or just daily check ins/walks. I have experience with dog care, and I have experience in childcare as well. Recently graduated RWU. I work a Monday - Friday however have time after 6pm as well as mid day and weekends. Open to walks or more. I know that pets are basically furry children. You need the best care with someone that you can trust. I understand this responsibility and I will give them the same love and care I would my own pets.
“Lindsey did great with Ellie, our rescue dog. Our dog has separation anxiety and is very reluctant to leave the house with some she doesn’t know. Lindsey was very patient with Ellie and won her confidence. Lindsey didn’t give up on walking her and gave Ellie support and encouragement. We will definitely use Lindsey again. She is a dog lover❤️she arrived as promised, kept us well informed and is Excellent!!!”

“Lydia is professional with years of experience! We had a great meet-and-greet with her - my dog Matcha absolutely adored her. She eased our concerns about leaving our pup in the care of someone new and gave Matcha a great hour-long walk to break up her time spent alone while we were at work. I really enjoyed getting updates and photos from the walk! I arrived home to a happy, tired, calm dog. I know Matcha is looking forward to her next walk with Lydia, and I am so happy to have found Lydia to help us care for her.”

About: Whether it’s a high-energy pup needing long walks or a senior pet requiring medication, I am comfortable, patient, and prepared. I offer boarding, drop-in visits, and house sitting for both dogs and cats. My goal is to provide a safe, comfortable, and fun experience while you are away. I work from home, so your baby will get nonstop attention and cuddles! I do have a fenced in yard and do not require dogs to be crate trained. I always prioritize your dog’s specific needs—whether that’s gentle walks for seniors or active play for puppies. I work from home/have a flexible schedule, allowing me to be present with your dog/cat. I treat every pet like they are part of my family and always focus on both your pet’s mental and physical exercise. I ensure a safe environment by keeping fresh water available, maintaining a clean space, and checking that all gates are secure. I do allow your pet to sleep on my bed unless instructed otherwise. I send photo/video updates and follow your feeding/medication instructions as well as any others given. I do allow meet & greets at my house if preferred!

About: I’m a law student at RWU with a flexible schedule and would love to help care for your pets! I recently finished a three-week dog-sitting stay in the owners’ home and can provide references. I love going on walks and spending time with dogs, and I’m also a dog mom myself to a dachshund back home in Texas I'm home for the summer from school and have pretty open availability, which means I have plenty of time to dedicate to pet care. I’m flexible throughout the day and can easily adjust to meet the needs of different pets and schedules—whether that’s morning walks, midday check-ins, or evening playtime. Taking care of animals is something I truly enjoy, so it fits naturally into my routine this summer. I only provide care in the client’s home, which I find helps pets feel more comfortable and relaxed in their familiar environment. When I’m in someone’s home, I treat it with the same respect I would my own. I follow all instructions closely, including feeding routines, walk schedules, playtime preferences, and any special needs or medications. I make sure pets get lots of attention, exercise, and affection, and I always do my best to keep them happy and stress-free while their owners are away. Communication is important to me, so I’m happy to send updates and photos during visits as well!
“We’ve been lucky enough to have Hunter come a couple times a week for the past few weeks and help us take care of our Hank. SHE IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST!! She takes Hank out on adventures and sends awesome pictures and videos documenting what they do. We are forever grateful for Rover for connecting us with Hunter!”

About: I’ve cared for dogs and cats of all ages and personalities my entire life, and working with animals truly feels second nature to me. For the past five years, I’ve gained hands-on experience caring for pets professionally, and I currently work part-time at a doggy daycare where I’m trusted with dogs of all sizes and temperaments. I’m comfortable administering oral medications and insulin, and I’m CPR certified for dogs so your pet safety is always a top priority. I stay calm, attentive, and prepared in any situation. Whether it’s a playful puppy, a shy rescue, or a senior pet who needs extra patience and gentle care, I always treat every animal like they’re my own. I only work part-time so I have plenty of time and flexibility to give pets the attention they deserve. I’m able to structure my schedule around walks playtime, feedings, and any special care that they may need. Because I’m not gone long hours pets aren’t left them alone for extended periods, and I can provide consistent companionship and supervision. When caring for your baby in your home I do my best to keep the routine as normal inconsistent as possible, and follow all feeding schedules, walk, routines, medication, instructions, and household guidelines, exactly as provided. I make sure that your pets receive plenty of attention, exercise, and affection while also respecting their comfort levels.

Audrey was responsive and wonderful with our dogs! She made a point of meeting the pups and learning about them before services began. Arrived on time every day and sent pictures of every walk. The pups are looking forward for our next vacation so they can see Audrey again.

Calla has been amazing with my girl 🐾 Even though today was only her second walk, I already feel completely confident in her. She really took the time to get to know my dog’s personality and learn her specific walking routine. My girl can be a little particular..especially around small dogs, and Calla has been very mindful of that, making sure to keep her safe and comfortable while they’re out. That kind of attention and awareness means a lot. She’s reliable, communicative, and you can tell she genuinely cares. My dog is already excited to see her, which says everything. I’ll absolutely be hiring her again; highly recommend!

Bella is a wonderful person, and she clearly cares about the animal in her care. She went above and beyond for Gunner while we were away, his comfort and peace of mind as priorities. While he did miss us in our absence, he looked for her the first morning after our trip and I’m sure he was asking where the nice lady was! ❤️🐾We’ll be re-booking in May! Thank you Bella!!🤗

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Andrea went above and beyond in every possible way. She came to my home and took incredible care of my dog Lorenzo—walking him, feeding him, giving him treats, playing with him, and making sure he was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. She even cleaned his dog bowl without being asked, which speaks volumes about her attention to detail and thoughtfulness. Andrea kept me completely at ease by sending pictures and videos. She is genuinely friendly, trustworthy, and an exceptionally kind person. I couldn’t recommend her more highly and would absolutely book her again without hesitation.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
