About: With over 9 years of pet sitting experience, I bring a strong passion for animal care to every home I go. I was raised around a variety of animals—including chickens, rabbits, cats, and dogs—and developed a strong understanding of their unique needs from an early age. My goal is to provide reliable, compassionate, and attentive care when watching your pets, as I would want someone to do the same with mine. Pet care works great for my schedule because I work in a school during the months of September-May, Allowing me to be home by 3 PM, and I am off on the weekends. Starting in June, I have full availability to watch your pet throughout the day, which is great for when families would like to go on summer vacations, or need someone to check on their pet often. Depending on the service requested, I will always take your dog for a long walk. I love going for a walks, so having a furry friend be able to join me is amazing. If this is an overnight visit, besides playtime every few hours, there will be at least two long walks every day. Feeding will be done at normal breakfast and dinner time unless there is a specific schedule. I am also an online college student so being home with your pet while taking classes will be no problem if they require a little bit more attention.

Elaine was amazing for a last minute walk! I was out of town and needed help with walking my dog and she accepted my request. She was gentle, kind and took to my skittish dog right away. My dog happily went on his walk with her with no issues. Definitely would recommend Elaine!

About: I’ve been around dogs for basically my whole life and I’ve always loved animals. I’ve been taking care of my own pets- walking, feeding, bathing, training, etc- for as long as I can remember. More recently I’ve taken care of friends pets while their owners are away- including dogs, cats, and a bunny. In these instances I was responsible for checking in on the pets a few times a day to feed them, let them outside, refill water, and give them lots of love and attention. I have also volunteered to dog walk at a few local shelters. I’m currently home from college for the summer and I have a lot of free time. I have a few short trips that are blocked out on my calendar and should be available otherwise. When walking dogs I try to always be aware of my surroundings and be on the lookout for cars, other dogs, or wild animals. My own dog can be a bit sneaky and is a big chewer so I know how important it is to be vigilant when watching dogs. I’ve also had a reactive dog in the past so I’m confident in my abilities to distract and remove a dog from a hostile situation. I’m always interested in learning more about proper pet care and have spent time researching pet safe foods and activities for my own pets. My goal is always to give a pet the best care possible.

About: With a lifetime of experience living with dogs, I am confident around them. I own two medium large dogs that love their lifestyle. "Wow, he/she doesn't usually like men!" is something I've heard a lot from people when I meet their dog. It takes patience to learn a dog's communication style, but when they feel understood they do everything they can to express themselves. When they feel comfortable with my ability to successfully communicate they trust me. I've dog sat for friends, but this time in my life I can do more. I'm mostly finished with professional career life. I'm writing the great American novel instead now. I walk my dogs twice a day and go on hikes on weekends where they're allowed. Dogs are the secret to a peaceful mind. Respectful of space and privacy, I'm here for your dogs because I have dogs. I'd want someone who cares about dogs to care for mine when I'm not there.

About: I am an experienced, caring, mature dog walker who has been a life-long dog, animal, and nature lover. I am a professional ecologist and life coach who works mainly from home, allowing me to be available for dog walking. I have a lifetime of experience with dogs. As a child, my family used to breed labrador retrievers; now we have corgis. Love them! If you want someone dependable and smart who will love your dog while you're away or at work, I'm your person. My family has lived in the area for many years. I am available weekdays and most weekends as needed. Your dog will be in good hands. I'll feed your cats too. Looking forward to meeting you and your pets! Thank you for your consideration. I am a semi-retired ecologist and conservationist who manages a non-profit organization from home, so I am usually nearby and readily available. I was raised in a family that bred Labrador Retrievers and have always lived with dogs and cats (and lost of other critters). I currently have three corgis - two Pembroke Welsh and one American (Pembroke and Cardigan). I have a fenced yard and can care for gentle, corgi and child friendly pups. Most of my work is at client's homes. I'll make sure gates are closed and yards are safe and fresh water is available. I pay attention to weather conditions, accommodating for rain, hot, or cold weather. I pay attention to my surroundings on walks and in the yard to keep your pup safe.

About: As a lifelong animal lover and pet parent to four rescue dogs, I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs. What sets me apart is the level of care and attention I give to every animal as if they were my own. I have hands-on experience caring for senior dogs, including my 14-year-old blind Boston Terrier, which has given me patience, compassion, and an understanding of the extra care some pets require. I am also comfortable administering medications and following detailed care instructions to help pets stay happy, healthy, and comfortable while you’re away. Whether your pet loves playtime, long walks, cuddles on the couch, or simply sticking to their usual routine, my goal is to provide a safe, loving, and stress-free experience for both pets and their owners. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because caring for animals is something I genuinely enjoy. I work full-time at a local high school, with regular hours ending at 1:30 PM during the school year and 1:00 PM during the summer, which allows me plenty of time for afternoon, evening, and overnight pet care. I am available for drop-in visits, walks, feeding, medication administration, and companionship before and after work, and I am happy to provide overnight stays when needed so your pets can maintain their routine and have company for longer periods of time. Weekends are generally wide open, allowing me to dedicate even more time and attention to your pets. My goal is always to provide dependable, loving care that gives both you and your pets peace of mind while you’re away. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I do my best to keep their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I follow feeding schedules, provide fresh water, administer medications if needed, and make sure pets get the exercise, playtime, and attention they’re used to receiving. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playing fetch, cuddling on the couch, or simply having someone nearby, I adjust my care to fit their individual needs and personality. I understand that every pet is different, so I take the time to learn their routines, preferences, and any special instructions you provide. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away, while also giving you peace of mind through dependable and attentive care.

About: Hi there! I’m Adrianna (or Adi for short), and I believe that pets aren't just animals—they are family. I know how stressful it can be to leave your best friend behind, which is why my goal is to provide a nurturing environment filled with belly rubs, long walks, and endless love. Whether we are playing fetch or cuddling up for an afternoon nap, your pet’s happiness, safety, and comfort will always be my top priority. I am always open to discussing any additional support that your pet may need. I am currently employed but mostly work from home, so my schedule is flexible and can work around any pet’s needs—provide an extra walk, an extra cuddle session: you name it! I have a large fenced in yard that provides my animals with safe spaces for exercise. I also have a pet water fountain inside the home to promote hydration especially during the summer months. My pets always get a breakfast and dinner, though each is tailored to their specific dietary needs. Playtime is a must in my household, and my pets always receive interactive stimulation to keep their minds and bodies healthy.

About: I am a professional dog walker and pet sitter with over twenty years of hands on experience caring for animals. I recently moved to Suffolk County, New York from the Upper West Side of Manhattan after closing my small business in the city. Long Island has been an amazing change for us and we truly love being here. Animals have always been a huge part of my life and have shaped my career for more than two decades. Now that I work from home, I find myself really missing the daily connection with pets. I am certified in pet grooming and have experience in animal behavior as well as light training. I love teaching dogs fun tricks like giving kisses and building trust with them through patience and consistency. I also have experience working as a veterinary technician and receptionist, which has given me a strong understanding of animal health and communication with pet owners. I still maintain several wonderful clients from my time in Manhattan and I am excited to grow my services here in Suffolk County and meet new dogs and their families. About This Sitter Animals have always been my passion for as long as I can remember. I never imagined how far this path would take me, but I truly cannot picture myself doing anything else. Caring for pets feels natural and rewarding to me, and I am grateful every day to be part of their lives. Why I Love Dog Sitting I have loved dogs since the first time I was able to have one of my own. The more I learn about different breeds and personalities, the more my appreciation grows. Every dog has its own temperament and charm, and getting to know them is one of my favorite parts of this work. Meet My Pets In loving memory of Miah. Jenna is currently my active little companion. They are two beautiful Chihuahuas who have filled my life with joy and laughter. About My Home We live in a small four bedroom house in Coram with a backyard that offers space for fresh air and outdoor time. My Experience Administering Medication Yes. I am comfortable giving oral medications only. Pet care fits into my routine very naturally because I work from home and have a flexible schedule. I am available most weekdays and weekends, especially afternoons and evenings. Since I am home often, I can provide consistent attention, walks, feeding schedules, and check ins without rushing. I live in a small four bedroom home in Coram with a backyard where dogs can safely get fresh air and supervised outdoor time. Inside the home, pets are never left unattended for long periods and I always follow the owner’s instructions carefully. I have over twenty years of experience working with animals, including veterinary office experience, so I am very observant of behavior changes and health concerns. I also have one senior toothless small house dog who is gentle and used to other pets, but I always introduce animals slowly and respectfully based on their comfort level.

About: I’ve always loved dogs and have found as of late I am so drawn to them. They bring a joy and fulfillment to my life no job ever has. I have started learning more about training and nutrition on my own in recent months. I have an 11 year old chihuahua nicknamed Napoleon for her lovely chihuahua temperament; whom I’ve raised since 6 weeks and a shepherd - pit mix we welcomed into our family at 6 weeks as well, he’s turned 1 Oct 2023. I make the majority of my dogs food and treats at home. I have 3 school aged kids and a husband who works a lot. I am looking for something emotionally fulfilling as well as something to boost my physical activity, especially in the upcoming cold season. I am available during the day most days from 9-3 and occasional evenings and weekends. Fairly flexible in my availability depending on how local the gig. My pup is super friendly and in training learning to interact with other dogs as well as follow commands. My chihuahua typically keeps to herself she’s so tiny even when other dogs notice her they tend to leave her be. I have a fenced in 1/2 acre as well as the ability to chain them for short periods(specifically escape artists) as well as a large crate and smaller gate setups. I am affectionate and friendly and I’ve never met a dog who doesn’t love me back.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
