About: I’m 59 years old and I’ve cared for many dog breeds since I was 10, poodle, lab, mixed breeds, golden doodle, pitbull mix. I take pride in how I take care of my dog from what I feed him, clean up after him, and keep him happy and comfortable. I believe I can offer the same attention to detail for a guest dogs needs. I am a full time programmer at the Riverhead County Clerk’s Office working 7-3 Mon-Fri, I would like to try boarding on the weekends and possibly during the week as I get more comfortable with this process I have a fenced in yard 4 foot fence, and own a 5 year old mixed breed terrier that loves to play. I’d be looking to care for friendly small to medium sized dogs that have are up to date on shots from the vet. I have a spare large crate if needed but it would be best if you have your own since your pet is used to that one. I’d like to see vet records of shots and meet before hand to make sure our pets get along

“We had to get work done to our house and or dog couldn't be home during the day. I looked at other options and they just didn't fit what we needed. We'd have to take off some hours from work as the construction was done on our house. I hopped onto Rover and quickly found Ashley. The rates were affordable and her profile really stood out as someone who cares about pets. We consider our dog, Amber, one of our children. Ashley was amazing with pick up and drop off. Always on time which was great because we wanted Amber to be picked up before the workers got there. When we got home from work Ashley would drop her off. My dog gets anxious easily and that, in turn, made me anxious about her being with someone she didn't know in a place she had never been. But Ashley was reassuring and great with her, even in the car ride which Amber usually despises. Ashley sent pictures and updates of Amber relaxing and being happy each day. Highly recommended. About: I’ve always loved dogs and have found as of late I am so drawn to them. They bring a joy and fulfillment to my life no job ever has. I have started learning more about training and nutrition on my own in recent months. I have an 11 year old chihuahua nicknamed Napoleon for her lovely chihuahua temperament; whom I’ve raised since 6 weeks and a shepherd - pit mix we welcomed into our family at 6 weeks as well, he’s turned 1 Oct 2023. I make the majority of my dogs food and treats at home. I have 3 school aged kids and a husband who works a lot. I am available during the day most days from 9-3 and occasional evenings and weekends. Fairly flexible in my availability depending on how local the gig. My pup is super friendly and in training learning to interact with other dogs as well as follow commands. My chihuahua typically keeps to herself she’s so tiny even when other dogs notice her they tend to leave her be. I have a fenced in 1/2 acre as well as the ability to chain them for short periods(specifically escape artists) as well as a large crate and smaller gate setups. I am affectionate and friendly and I’ve never met a dog who doesn’t love me back.

My most recent edition to my family guards and is very much a “my way or the highway” kind of dog. That being said, I’ve done a lot of research on dog behaviors and try to be mindful of their needs and body language. I have a background in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and learned a lot about conditioning and reinforcement in my years of education. I’m in no way a dog trainer, but I know when to reward desired behaviors and when not to reward. I prefer to stick to dog walking since my schedule outside of Rover is pretty demanding. About: I’m the person that family and friends go to when they want advice on how to teach dogs fun tricks. Also, I’m really good at telling dogs breeds apart which is fun when I’m out. I work part time on weekends and have classes early in the morning. So the rest of my time can be spent with your babies aka your pets. About: Hi I'm Ally! I grew up surrounded by dogs and my love for them has only grown over the years! I currently have two at home, Luna, a 10-year-old rescue terrier mix, and Tobi, a 6-year-old Pembroke Welsh corgi. Altogether my extended family includes 6 dogs, 2 cats, and a few chickens. About: I’ve been around dogs for basically my whole life and I’ve always loved animals. I’ve been taking care of my own pets- walking, feeding, bathing, training, etc- for as long as I can remember.
