“This was my first time using Alexander and Taline and I will definitely be using them for any future stays. They kept me updated during the duration of the stay as well as sent pictures. The icing on the cake was the personalized gift they provided when I picked up my Dixie. 💯 recommend”

“Eva was awesome! She and her family took great care of my girl while I was out of town for a weekend. I would absolutely recommend booking with Eva if you ever need to trust your precious fur baby with someone. She gives frequent updates and pics which I loved. Thank you Eva, we will definitely be seeing you again!”

“Olivia is an absolute angel. She's a Cavalier mom who knew the needs of my cavalier. My dog Lady Jane was welcome as family. The photo updates were so welcoming. I cannot sing enough praises about Olivia. She's my official dog sitter now when I have business trips!”

“Josh has kept my dogs multiple times, and he is simply the best dog sitter ever - in the history of the world! I pray he never moves or retires because I trust him with my dogs' lives, and he would be impossible to replace.”

“I am so happy I was able to find Kathy last minute before I had to go to drill. She sent me an update with an adorable photo of my dog, and he was so happy! I would highly recommend ?”

“They were absolutely amazing with my pup! I could not recommend them enough. My boy is rambunctious and tends to be a bully. In the past, I’ve had a hard time finding someone dominant enough to keep him in check and finally we have found the perfect match. It was such a relief to be able to go out of town and not constantly worry about my fur baby. They treated him like family and sent tons of videos and pics and updates. I will definitely be rebooking in the future.”

“Rhoda & Erik did a fantastic job with our pups! They made them feel at home right away. They kept in contact with us throughout the stay & sent us adorable photos of Macey & Max. They walked our pups several times & made sure they were as comfortable as possible. We will definitely use them again in the future!”

“Our fur baby had a great time with Fermary and her family. We had daily updates, with pictures, of his stay. When we picked him up he was in great spirits, an indication that he obviously had fun. Will definitely book with her again. Thanks!!”

“Juan was amazing! Bucky had an amazing time, I really appreciated all of the photos and he even worked on some training with him. He was also very flexible with me, which I am so grateful for.”

“Autumn was great and my cat Lou seemed incredibly comfortable with her. I highly recommend her to anyone who wants a reliable sitter that will communicate in detail how your pet is doing every day. Thanks, Autumn!”

“Brian is a great sitter. He provided videos and pictures of Buster every day we were out of town. He had two mini dachshunds for your pet to play and companionship while you’re away. If you’re needing a place for your furry family member I would highly recommend Brian and would repeat if ever we need a sitter in future.”

“Leo loved staying at Kyungah’s house while we were on vacation. Kyungah sent regular updates about him & pics of him playing and having a great time. Leo was treated like a member of her family and I would 100% recommend Kyungah as a dog sitter.”

About: I've been a lifelong dog owner and have cared for dogs most of my life. I've frequently dog-sat for friends and family over the years, including feeding, walking, administering medications when needed and providing lots of attention and playtime. I work from home full-time, so your dog will receive plenty of supervision, attention, and companionship throughout the day. My partner is retired and also home most of the time, so there is almost always someone here with the pets. Because of this, dogs are rarely left alone and get lots of care, playtime, and comfort during their stay. Dogs under 40 lbs. please. We provide a calm, safe, and welcoming environment and follow each dog’s normal routine for feeding, potty breaks, walks, and playtime. Our home has a fenced backyard where dogs can safely enjoy time outside. We also have a friendly 5-year-old dog who is low-energy and well socialized. She enjoys the company of other dogs but is also respectful of dogs who prefer their own space. Your pet’s safety and comfort are very important to us. We introduce dogs slowly, supervise interactions, and treat every dog in our home like part of the family. We are also happy to send photo updates so you can see how your pet is doing while you’re away.
“We were in a pinch and found Breanna on rover. She was happy to take in our two pups Armani and Bean for a night. She sent us photos of them throughout their stay to keep us updated which we really appreciated. They seemed like they had a a great time with the other dogs! Thanks Breanna!”

“We had to book a very last minute Rover and Lisa and her family were very willing to work with us and take our pup off our hands for the weekend. Our pup can sometimes get depressed when we leave her, but the pictures that Lisa sent us showed that Bailey was having a great time. Would definitely use again. Close to Riverwalk for anyone going on a vacation as well.”

The median cost per night for pet boarding in Von Ormy is $35

Daniel and Hillary responsive, accommodating and very easy to work with! They took great care of our Bailey! I received pictures or videos of her every day of our trip and it was so nice to see that she was getting loved on and being taken care of. 🤗 we’ll definitely be reaching out for future care!

Chelsea and her son Max were great. They took my Noob for the whole weekend, on a last minute notice, which I GREATLY appreciated b/c it allowed my kids and I to spend some quality time with my oldest daughter, who is in training at Lackland AFB. I got lots of videos and it seemed like Noob had a blast and really enjoyed being there. They took excellent care of him. I would use their services again and highly recommend them to anyone in need of pet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
