“Darcy was one of the best sitters we’ve ever had! She followed all of our instructions and was very communicative. We have a shy kitty and reactive dog, yet she made sure to meet each of their individual needs. Darcy went above and beyond for our babies and we can’t thank her enough. We will definitely be booking again!”

“Mitchell did a great job handling our 2 (somewhat unfriendly to strangers) energetic dogs. He was prompt, provided many pictures of walking the dogs, and the dogs came home relaxed & happy. We will be using Mitchell again!”

“Amy was amazing with our cat while we were gone! She sent lots of pics and updates. It was clear that our cat loved her visits! I would absolutely recommend using her for cat sitting. She went above and beyond, taking out the trash, watering the plants, you name it.”

About: I've lived on a small farm since I was 4 years old and I've been caring for animals since then. At age 16, I began house sitting/pet sitting for various families who trusted me with a wide range of animals, including cats and dogs. My family has always included multiple pets and I love them each dearly. Every animal deserves the most care and love possible. Pets have my whole heart and I want nothing but the best for them. I can confidently say that I know very well how to care for any dog or cat. I currently have a full time job but I am free in the late afternoons and evenings so I will have plenty of time to care for your pet and give them all the love they need. I will be available to spend as much time with them as you request and when I am caring for them, they will get my full attention. Your pets are my priority. When I am caring for a pet at the client's home, I walk into the situation understanding that the pet may not trust me at first because they are on their home turf and they have never met me before. I am always careful to use a quiet and calm voice while not making any sudden movements until the pet has shown they are no longer afraid. I've learned that it helps to use the pet's name, talk to them without fear, and keep a safe distance until they've learned to trust me. Once the pet is comfortable with my presence, I will go about caring for them and making sure they get lots of love and attention.

I always carry treats for training and reward as well as water to make sure a pet never goes thirsty during their active moments. Hoping my experience and skills will make a difference in your pets life! I own a reselling business so pet care fits in my schedule perfectly always have spare time to keep your pets occupied and happy so they will be left happy. “Hailey was very communicative and friendly. She was very comfortable with our cats, which made us confident in leaving them in her care. She's professional, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a pet sitter!”

“We booked a sitter through Rover for the first time for a long time period and were a little nervous about leaving Missy alone, but Xiaoyu was absolutely wonderful. From the very beginning, she made sure Missy felt comfortable, loved, and well cared for. Xiaoyu followed all the instructions we discussed and truly went above and beyond to make sure Missy didn’t miss us. After just a few visits, it was clear that Missy looked forward to seeing her, which gave us so much peace of mind. I would highly recommend Xiaoyu to anyone looking for a dedicated, trustworthy, and caring sitter—and a true friend—for their fur baby. 🐾💛”

“Isabel was wonderful and took great care of my kitties. She even helped get my automatic litter box working again when it decided to stop midway through our trip. She went above and beyond and I highly recommend!”

Additionally, I have my own vehicle so there are no time constraints in scheduling. I will be able to crate your pets if needed, but if they prefer a cuddle I will happily oblige! Have a pet with lots of energy? We can do long walls or monitored off leash play if that’s what they are used to !
About: The day my best friend Lucca (tiny little Norwich Terrier) came home, I knew I would have a best friend for life. Taking care of my dog provided me with skills like time management, organization, responsibility, independence, and caregiving. Since Lucca passed in the spring, I have been looking to continue my love for caring for doggies, and I hope your pup will love me as much as I know I will love them! I love hanging both inside and outside, running around, or just chilling and providing belly rubs and nice meals! I have a wide range of availability in my schedule for your furry family members. Please let me know if I can provide one of my services! I can assure you I am a trustworthy individual to take care of your pets at home because I have over eight years of experience in both pet care and child care. I always prioritize leaving the home clean and tidy for a refreshing environment when my clients return. It is my objective to always have the pets feeling safe and comfortable, and I always aim to keep their time in my care as close to their normal routine as possible. Apart fro petcare, I have babysat children and teens for many families successfully and without any issues at home.
About: I have owned dogs since I was 10 years old and cats since the mid 1970's. I have cared for, fed, walked, played with not only my own, but for friends and neighbors as well. I'm currently working part-time, so I have plenty of time to walk and care for your pets. Mid-mornings to early afternoons some days, all day on other days. I am currently not available to care for your pets in my home due to having 3 dogs and 2 cats already. Anything can change in the future though.
About: I’ve always had a huge heart for animals since I was a kid. I treat pets as if they were my own and respect their space when needed. I’ve worked with different such as livestock (horses, goats, sheep, cows) and your typical domesticated pet. I currently don’t have any pets of my own, so having the opportunity to watch someone else’s pet brings me tremendous joy. I currently work full time at a vet hospital Tuesday-Saturdays so it is really nice to be able to come home after work to something warm and fluffy. While in a clients home I always check out the home first so I can feel comfortable and see all possible exits. For pets to gain my trust I always let them sniff me first and treat them as if they were mine. I give them space when they need it. I have high respect for an owners home as well and treat it as if it were my home.
“Ping was great with RB. She’s very kind and gentle. Her pup Cherry is also very sweet and well behaved. I think it’s a bonus for RB to have canine company. Ping sent photos, was able to accommodate last minute request and very responsive. Thanks Ping and Cherry!”
“Emily is a great catsitter & my cat was very comfortable with her. Emily took care every detail and was communicative with updates, photos, and even a video. My kitty is in good hands with Emily!”

About: I’m a lifelong animal lover with over 15 years of dog walking and sitting experience. I’ve worked for a professional dog-walking company, leading both neighborhood walks and adventurous hikes. I’ve also cared for my own dog with epilepsy, giving medication three times a day and providing gentle, patient care. We’re a warm, loving little family who adore all kinds of animals. I live with my husband and our 4-year-old son, who was born into a home with a cat and dog and has grown up loving animals and nature. At home, we don’t currently have a dog or cat, just fishes and a frog 🐠🐸. After losing our beloved dog, we haven’t been ready to adopt another one, which means your pup will get all the love and attention they deserve while staying with us! I can care for your dog at your home or mine, in any weather, for walks, hikes, playtime, or full-time sitting. I can also provide care for cats while you’re away. Your furry friends will be treated with love, patience, and plenty of attention — maybe even spoiled just a little. 😉 I currently work only 2–3 hours a day during weekdays, so I have plenty of free time to care for your little one. I’m flexible on weekends as well, which means I can easily adjust my schedule for walks, playtime, or drop-in visits. Your furry baby will always get my full attention and care. I completely understand how it feels to miss your little one when you’re away — I’ve been there too. That’s why I’ll keep you updated with frequent photos and messages, so you can relax knowing your pet is happy and well cared for.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Verona
Performed great drop in visits for our two spoiled cats while we had a local trip. Also had last minute request to water some plants in the summer heat. House, cats, and plants were well taken care of during her visit and will use Alysson again in the future.
Amy was PHENOMENAL! She was incredibly accommodating, especially with giving my cat medicine, and flexible. She took the initiative with making sure my cat was cool and hydrated. My needs changed mid booking, and she came everyday, instead of every other day. Her reports were very detailed and was in constant communication with me. I would absolutely choose her again, if the opportunity arises. She was better than I could have ever hoped for!

We had an amazing experience with Jifeng while she cared for our four cats. She was calm, gentle, and incredibly attentive to all of their needs. Even our shy kitties warmed up to her. It was clear they felt comfortable and safe with her, and that gave us complete peace of mind. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and would absolutely book her again.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Verona. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
