About: I've had dogs my whole life and started dog-sitting for my neighbors at 9 years old. I love all animals, but dogs have a very special place in my heart. I've worked with dogs of all ages, and over the summer, I cared for a puppy full-time for the family I nanny for. I am very comfortable with big dogs and have lots of experience with large breeds, including Corsos and English Mastiffs. I hope I can make your time away from your pets a little bit easier and less stressful! I am a full-time student at the University of Virginia (with a car), so I have classes during the weekdays; however, I do have many breaks and a few days each week without classes, so I have a lot of room for coming by to check in and help out in any way I can. What I do to keep the animals and myself safe really depends on the situation. When I walk, I always carry pepper spray, and I have collars with lights on them in case I am ever walking a dog in low visibility. The important thing to me is making sure I follow any specific requests from the owners!

About: Hello! I’m a graduate student who dearly misses my family pups and would love a chance to share my love with your fur babies 😊 I’m extremely comfortable handling reactive dogs (large or small) and can tailor walks to whatever your pup needs (structured with rewarded commands, loose sniff walks, easy jogs to release energy, etc). I know how to administer medication via mouth/eye/ear and am adept at reading body language to match your pet’s energy and comfort level. I have a relatively flexible schedule but am limited by certain weekly required lectures/events. I am typically free before 8am and after 12pm on weekdays (only after 5pm on Thursdays though) and all day weekends. Sometimes I’m free the entire day, it depends! If you have any questions or want to know if I’m available at a specific time, please just reach out to me and I’ll try my best to work with you. I know it can be scary to trust a technical stranger, but rest assured that I’ll treat your pet as if they were my own. I’m extremely aware of potential safety concerns (toxic food, dart risk with open doors, mobility limitations for small pets, etc) and hold myself to the highest standards both as a professional and animal lover.

About: Hi! My name is Riley and I'm a 21-year-old nursing student originally from South Carolina. Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I grew up on a farm raising and caring for many different animals, so caretaking has always come naturally to me. As of now, I have 4 dogs back at home and 1 pup currently residing with me. What sets me apart is my lifelong experience with all types of animals, my reliability, and how much I truly love caring for them. In my home, your pet will also have the opportunity to socialize with my own friendly dog, who loves making new pup friends. About: I’ve always had animals in my younger life from cats to dogs, and even though I only have a cat I continue to love dogs. My current housing situation allows me to share dog sitting and caring of his clients dogs (ages 9 months to 14 years) for the last ten years. Since then I have asked my neighbors for tending to the needs of their dogs be it from a 5 mile walk on and off leash to a 100 yard potty break in addition to giving medications. I’m currently working part time three days a week and an occasional Saturday, so I have the time to care and interact for your furry friend. I live in a neighborhood with easy access to the Rivanna trails and a road trip access to a farm with woods in Earlysville for running in fields. I also have a very tolerant cat who actually enjoys dogs staying with me because she’s learned that visiting dogs often get a treat she’s earned one too. My house has hardwood floors on the first floor throughout access to the carpeted lower level is through a door. The dog would have free range of the house while we were at home and unless he/she is accustomed to be crated.

About: I grew up in a house full of dogs in Nigeria, more than 20 over the years, and helped raise and train them from the day they were born. I taught basic commands, cared for newborn puppies, and handled everything from playful escape artists to protective mamas. Dogs have been part of my daily life for as long as I can remember. Now I’m a fourth-year at UVA, and since my apartment doesn’t allow pets, Rover lets me keep dogs in my life while giving owners reliable, attentive care. I treat every dog like one of my own because for most of my life, they were. I’m a fourth-year student at UVA with a flexible schedule. I’m available most early evenings, and weekends, and I keep my calendar updated weekly. If there’s a time you need but it’s blocked out, feel free to request anyway; I’m often able to accommodate. I live near Grounds, so I can easily do midday drop-ins and walks. Your home, your rules! I follow your existing routines and safety instructions exactly, keep doors and gates secured, always leash up for walks, and send photo updates every visit so you have total peace of mind

As an adult, I am lucky to be a cat mama to two beautiful boys, Tito and Cosmo, that I found as strays and have raised from ~6 weeks old. I have 7 years of experience in dog and cat care outside of my home, including puppy, kitten, and senior care, as well as pets that are a bit more anxious (or spicy!) than others. I am convinced that there isn't an animal on this planet that I can't win over. I am well-versed in understanding cues and body language and take pride in my ability to earn an animal's trust through slow and thoughful first interactions. About: I am a longtime dog lover and have grown up with dogs my whole life. My family jokingly calls me the dog whisperer because I love dogs so much and have a special connection with them! I am a dog Mom who recently lost my fur baby, and would be happy to care for your furry friend and love them like my own. I understand how special and important people's dogs are to them. My dog who just passed was 14 with special medical needs and I am experienced in medication administration. I have lots of experience pet sitting for friends and family and can provide the care and love needed while you are away. About: I have had pets in my house my whole life - dogs, cats, chickens, horses, etc. I am very comfortable with all animals and I LOVE spending time with them. My family and friends have trusted me to take care of their animals, and I am always up for the task! Additionally, my mom was a vet tech for decades, and I often helped her take care of our animals’ medical needs. I am petsitting on Rover while attending medical school at UVA. I have class 8-12 M-F, but my classes are often recorded and are only sometimes required. I do have required class 1-5pm on Thursdays, so if you need house sitting on Thursdays please keep that in mind. I would love to hang out with your pets and do some studying during down time :) I will not be taking your pets to my home, but I am happy to take care of them in their own! My biggest priority is keeping your animals safe and comfortable, which I feel is best accomplished in the place they call home.
