“Dakota was friendly, flexible, and reliable. Sam always enjoyed his time with Dakota. Dakota interspersed neighborhood walks & trips to the dog park with visits to Barnes & Noble and other places. We will use Dakota again without reservation and highly recommend him to care for your pet.”

“Jen is an absolute angel! She is very sweet and loving to my pups. She is absolutely reliable and my dogs love her! One of my dogs can be quite a challenge but he bonded with her very quickly. There has been a huge improvement with my dogs behavior since hiring Jen to walk them during the week. I highly highly recommend Jen! There aren't enough wonderful things to say about her :)”

“Kris diligently worked to persuade my neurotic dogs to go on a walk with her. She was very patient and understanding with them and I look forward to working with her again”

“I'm very thankful to have found Emil. I work in retail and consequently work almost every weekend. Emil walks my little chihuahua for me every Saturday and Sunday. He's very reliable and I never worry that he won't be able to make it. He also responds to any requests or questions very quickly. I wholeheartedly recommend Emil if you need someone to help care for your pups!”

“Amy was a fantastic friend to our 10-year old Husky while we were out of town. She frequently went “above and beyond” to assure that She was calm and settled. Our reports were detailed and thoughtful. Additional, she was extremely responsive to us and our dog. We are grateful and recommend her as a thoughtful, caring pet partner!”

About: I've been caring for pets for years and have always been surrounded by animals. I grew up with cats and black Labrador Retriever. I’m comfortable with pets of all ages and energy levels, from puppies and kittens to senior pets who need extra patience and care. I’m also experienced in handling leash training, and recognizing behavioral cues to ensure pets feel safe and loved! I’m currently only offering weekends until I figure out my schedule for the summer since I’m working part time and doing research! I can do house-sitting/overnight stays, drop ins, and walking! I'm happy to go on long walks or to the park for some fun! For lower-energy dogs, I'm just as content to relax with them or enjoy some calm time outside.
About: I’ve taken care of puppies and mid-aged dogs before. Your baby will be in great hands as I make sure to stick to a routine that allows proper exercise and care! Dog sitting will benefit both of us as I love dogs, but don’t have one of my own! Currently a student about to go on break who also works part time. Soon I’ll be free all day throughout the week and weekend to care for your pet(s). I live in an apartment with no pets and area with plenty of walking space outside for your dog(s). I have been around dogs my whole life and love spending time with them. I also give as many picture updates as you would like to make sure you’re confident in my care.
“Christian was an amazing caregiver for our pup while we were gone. She's extremely thoughtful and thorough about getting to know each animal before beginning her time with them, and as a rescue owner I really appreciated that! Will definitely be using her again.”

“Rachel did a wonderful job with our two rescue dogs. She was patient and kind and on time. We received photos after every walk which gave us a great deal of comfort while we were away. We highly recommend Rachel and will be asking her to walk our dogs again soon. Thank you ❤️”

About: I've been a devoted dog lover and caregiver since I was 14, accumulating over a decade of hands-on experience with our furry friends. From energetic daily walks to cozy overnight boarding, I've done it all. Whether it's a quick potty break, a long adventure-filled walk, or extended stays, I have the experience to ensure your pup receives the best care possible. My years of practice have taught me to understand and respond to each dog's unique needs, making every pet-sitting experience positive and tailored to your furry family member. I'm currently working remotely with flexible hours and have availability throughout the day all seven days. Since I take care of my own dog, I spend at least two hours outside a day and pet care is incorporated throughout my routine. My approach to pet care is tailored to each dog's unique needs, whether I'm caring for them in my home or theirs. I've worked with a wide range of dogs, from anxious and timid to energetic and even aggressive ones that needed special handling. In-home care: I maintain the dog's routine, following your instructions for feeding, medication, and exercise. For anxious dogs, I provide a calm, reassuring presence. For high-energy pups, I ensure plenty of physical and mental stimulation. Home boarding: I create a safe, welcoming space in my home. For dogs needing special accommodations, like those who can't be around others, I provide separate, secure areas. Daily walks and visits: I adapt to each dog's pace and stamina, always attentive to their comfort level and adjusting activities as needed. Regardless of the service, my priority is the dog's well-being and happiness. I'm committed to providing loving, attentive care that respects each dog's individual personality and needs, drawing on my experience with diverse canine temperaments and behaviors.
About: I have always grown up with both cats and dogs in my household and have been a lover of animals from a young age. I have house sat for most of my family members before I went to college and consistently watch my roommates cat, who has lived with us for four years, anytime she is out of town. I currently am a full time graduate student at UVA, just looking for a few jobs here and there between classes and another part time job! Most of my availability is in the morning and afternoons on the weekdays and afternoon and evenings on the weekends. I have been told on many occasions that I have a loving and kind demeanor which I will share with your pets. I would be honored to give your pets some love when you are out of town, working, or just busy!
“Jessica was so wonderful with my dog and took incredible care of him while I was gone for the day.☺️ she sent many pictures and made my dog feel comfortable and loved.”

“Robert was on time and gave my dog lots of care and attention while I was out of town for a couple days. He was responsive to messages, asked good questions, and sent photos daily.”

“Tessa was wonderful with Tigo! She was prompt and generous with her time. She not only walked him but also took him to a field to play with balls, his favorite activity!”

About: I’ve spent 20+ years caring for animals of all ages. I grew up with my dog Mei Mei, who I supported through her heart condition and daily medications until she passed. I also rescued a blind senior mutt, Snoopy, who had only three teeth and needed mobility support, special feeding, and lots of extra gentleness. I’ve cared for puppies (including potty training), senior pets, and animals with medical needs. I’ve also had rabbits and fish, and now have two cats — one is 9, and the other is a year and a half, whom I raised from 6 weeks old. Across all of them, I’ve learned patience, structure, and how to make every pet feel safe and loved ❤️ I currently have fully flexible availability, so your pets get my complete attention. I’m home most days and can adjust to whatever routine makes them feel safest and happiest — mornings, afternoons, evenings, or overnight stays. Whether your pet thrives on structure or prefers a go-with-the-flow day, I can match their rhythm easily. I usually prefer caring for pets in their own home since most animals feel safest in their familiar space and routines. But if it makes the most sense for your situation, I’m also open to bringing them to my place. I can keep pets separated from mine if needed and make sure they’re comfortable and secure either way.
“Yana is super! My pups stayed with their grammy while I was on vacation but she can't walk them. Yana worked around her own vacation so they could get their walks! She was very good with them and even sent pictures during the walks!”

Venable dog parents share their Rover experiences
Karlee did a great job walking Molly and took great care of her! This was my first time using Rover and Karlee but I will definitely use her again. Karlee was on time and followed instructions very well. The feedback and pictures gave me a sense of comfort and Karlee made it happen!

Julie is a very kind and reliable dog sitter! She walked my dog Ivy every week this summer and boarded Ivy in her home for a weekend. She is very responsive to messages and provides detailed Rover card walk recaps. Ivy seems to love her time with her. Thank you, Julie!

My senior dogs are more excited to see Claire than they are to see me! They love her! And I love how consistent, reliable, kind, and flexible she is. The pics she sends are great, especially of her smart watch that tracks her steps during their walks. She has provided me assurance that my dogs are being exercised by a wonderful person while I'm away, and I can't thank her enough for that peace of mind.
