“Lauren is so amazing. She is punctual and communicative and goes above and beyond with Copper. We really appreciate her consistency and kindness with our pup!”

“Dakota connects well with our dog Patrick and is able to re-direct him when he wants to just turn around and come home. Our pup can be just one small ball of over excitement and exuberance and they handle that well. Dakota has been very reliable and always lets me know if he needs to adjust the time a bit.”

“I'm very thankful to have found Emil. I work in retail and consequently work almost every weekend. Emil walks my little chihuahua for me every Saturday and Sunday. He's very reliable and I never worry that he won't be able to make it. He also responds to any requests or questions very quickly. I wholeheartedly recommend Emil if you need someone to help care for your pups!”

“Penny was easy to work with and took great care of our dogs. She was very responsive and took extra care with Evie. We’re grateful for her help and would wholeheartedly recommend her to others.”

“Kris diligently worked to persuade my neurotic dogs to go on a walk with her. She was very patient and understanding with them and I look forward to working with her again”

“Amy is truly amazing! She takes the time to play with your pet if the weather is yucky and they can’t get the full walk in outside. Highly recommend!”

“Rachel S. Was amazing with our dog! She was super. Communicative, professional and kept us updated multiple times a day. When we got home our dog was well fed, tired from so many great walks and happy and well taken care of. We highly recommend her.”

“Christian was an amazing caregiver for our pup while we were gone. She's extremely thoughtful and thorough about getting to know each animal before beginning her time with them, and as a rescue owner I really appreciated that! Will definitely be using her again.”

About: Because I grew up with 3 dogs and 4 cats, my friends and family know to reach out to me to feed, walk, and bathe their pets. I have also had to give medicine to some of the pets I've cared for, so giving your dog or cat pills won't be a problem. I am currently a Graduate student at UVA taking summer classes and want to care for some pets on the weekends or on Mondays when my schedule allows for it. Since I don't have pets here, I would love to give all my love and attention to yours! I know how much our pets mean to us, and I would make sure to follow any special instructions you have for your pets. I've been around dogs and cats since I was 5, so I can read pets' body language well. I always let the dog/cat approach me before initiating any petting because I know some pets are a little nervous around new people.
About: Hi! My name is Riley and I'm a 21-year-old nursing student originally from South Carolina. Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I grew up on a farm raising and caring for different animals, so caretaking has always come naturally to me. As of now, I have 4 dogs back at home and 1 dog currently residing with me. What sets me apart is my lifelong experience with all types of animals, my reliability, and how much I truly love caring for them. I understand how important it is to find someone to trust with your pets. I'm very communicative, respectful of each pet's/owner's unique needs, and can confidently handle anything from a laid-back walk to giving medications or handling multiple pets simultaneously. Whether it's daily walks, playtime, or overnight stays, I'll treat your pup(s) like family! Pet care is at the center of my daily life! Rover is my near full-time job, which allows me to dedicate my full attention to the pets I care for. I am currently a nursing student in my second semester, but I have a flexible schedule with plenty of time to focus completely on your pet’s needs. My schedule currently consists of 2 classes on Tuesdays from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, and two separate clinicals every Wednesday at 6:30 am until 3:00 pm (from January 28th until April 1st), and every Monday (from February 2nd until March 2nd) at 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. I live near the college campus, surrounded by hiking trails and parks which is perfect for daily walks, outdoor adventures, and plenty of playtime. Making sure your pet feels safe, loved, and cared for is always my #1 priority. Whether caring for pets in my home or yours, I focus on creating a safe, comfortable, and loving environment. I follow each pet’s usual routine as closely as possible, including their feeding schedule, exercise needs, and any special instructions you provide. I make sure they get plenty of attention, playtime, and exercise, whether it’s relaxing at home, going for walks, playing in the dog park, or exploring nearby trails. In my home, your pet will also have the opportunity to socialize with my own friendly dog, who loves making new pup friends. I always keep a close eye on behavior and health to make sure they are happy and stress-free. Communication is important to me, so I provide regular updates and photos, so you can feel confident your pet is well cared for while you’re away.
About: I have cared for dogs for a little over six years and have a lot of experience with them. I am a dog lover and know exactly how to keep them happy and healthy while their families are away! I am currently working part-time, so I will have more than enough time to care for your home, pups, and anything else you may need! I care for pets by ensuring that they are always given food and water, going outside frequently, and having someone to play with hem and pet them.
“Tessa was wonderful with Tigo! She was prompt and generous with her time. She not only walked him but also took him to a field to play with balls, his favorite activity!”

About: I have grown up with dogs my entire life. Throughout middle/high school, I volunteered with our local SPCA and was able to gain more experience in learning different traits and behaviors of dogs. During this time, I assisted with a program that allowed members of the community to come in and learn more about dog training; this allowed me to gain greater experience into the proper ways to train a dog. Throughout my time in undergrad, I frequently dog sat/walked for the residents and attendings at our academic hospital. I have worked with dogs of all ages and sizes, who have had variable care and medical needs. Currently my family (my parents) has three rescues at home. They are my favorites (obviously haha) and you can find Apollo dressed up many times in the pictures up here! The dogs live with them though in a different state (that’s why i clicked no on « do you have any pets). I’m currently a preparing to start my first semester as a full-time grad student; however once the semester begins, my schedule remains highly flexible and will allow me time to engage in pet care! I have a lot of availability on the weekends, but also plenty of time during the weekdays to fit in a walk or to pet sit. While I do believe that socialization is an important part of a pet’s life and development, during my time with them, we will remain to ourselves and avoid interactions with other animals (unless you would like them to engage in that manner). Safety for everyone is one of the most important components to caring for pets, so if you have any rules in place (i.e. crating or off limit areas), I am more than happy to ensure they are followed during our time. One of my former pet parents (and friends) was a certified dog trainer, so I have a lot of experience in adapting to your pet’s lifestyle and giving them the enrichment they need, in a safe manner :)
“Thanks so much to Tracy for all her help. Despite the cold and ice she took care of Sunny every morning. He enjoyed walks with her, playing and she gave him his food and water every morning. He's picky with people since he was adopted and she has been so great with him. Love the photos and updates. Thank you Tracy!”

Lewis Mountain dog parents share their Rover experiences
Maddie has been a great, reliable, responsible, trustworthy dog walker. She is consistent and super sweet to my 4-legged, wild, slightly anxious, sometimes hard of hearing fur baby. She has great communication and has made my life easier knowing my dog is taken care of during the day when I can’t be there! Highly recommend her services! My schedule is changing but I will definitely be a return customer when I need her again. Thanks Maddie!

Karlee did a great job walking Molly and took great care of her! This was my first time using Rover and Karlee but I will definitely use her again. Karlee was on time and followed instructions very well. The feedback and pictures gave me a sense of comfort and Karlee made it happen!
