“Sarah was amazing. So intuitive with our nervous dog, who was immediately comfortable with her. Reliable, responsive, kind, caring and very clean. We feel so grateful to have found her! Thank you for taking such good care of our pup.”

“Raven to the rescue! Enzo had a rough night due to his advanced age, but Raven was a blessing. Enzo was cared for throughout the ordeal. We couldn’t have felt more confident! Thank you!”

“Even before this first stay, Jean spent a great deal of time meeting Zu Zu and her parents, which we greatly appreciated! This weekend was a perfect opportunity for Jean to get to know Zu Zu's routine, likes/dislikes, etc. Throughout the weekend, we received pics and video clips, which provided us with reassurance that Zu Zu was being well cared for. Jean asked questions, offered feedback and even assisted us with getting both pet parents on Rover, so both of us were able to access pics/videos. We already have another stay booked!”

“My dogs loved Anna so much that I think they were disappointed I came home. We have a complicated schedule (daycare for 1 dog with very specific hours) and medical needs (2 meds for the elderly gentleman) and Anna juggled it all for us. So appreciated!!!”

“Nicole was absolutely amazing! She was so detailed and thoughtful in her communication with us, and I felt so comforted knowing that she was looking after our pups. She also helped us out when we had a last minute travel delay & came to check on our dogs on short notice. Truly the best! Will definitely be rebooking!”

“This is our 2nd time using Sophie for in home dog sitting. Sophie engages, plays and loves Luna while caring for her & also sends updates and pictures often. Our dog is always happy and very well taken care of.”

“Hannah was wonderful! She came for a meet and greet to meet our dogs in advance and then sent pictures and took great care of our pups while we were out of town. We have a rescue who is anxious and takes medication, and Hannah handled her needs patiently. We will definitely have Hannah come back!”

“Jennifer was amazing with our dog Nino! When we got home he was calm and happy! She took him for walks every day and gave him the attention he needed. She took great care of him and our home. We’re so happy we found her to care for him when we travel, we will definitely be using her again!”

“Sydney did a fantastic job house sitting, and caring for our dog and cat. She arrived on time and listened well to my detailed pet care instructions. We can definitely trust her in our home and we know that can count on her! Thanks again Sydney!”

“Julia was an incredible house sitter for our 3 critters at a short moment's notice for a five day stay. She's responsible, communicative and even helped me with a few things while I was gone (helping with the plumber and a FBMP sale). All of the animals seem healthy and happy and she left my house super neat and clean, just as I left it. Thanks for all your work, Julia!”

“It's always hard to leave the old boy, but Marie was outstanding and kept Bentley safe and warm as well as providing a constant presence. Marie is a neat and conscientious house guest and I would not hesitate to ask her back again.”
“Kiley is great as per usual, Callie loves her! She does frequent check ins, is always on time and communicated effectively. Our home is always cared for when we return and our puppy is always happy! Will rebook !”

“Christina took wonderful care of our two pups, Zoey and Pippa, and provided plenty of awesome updates with cute photos. We’ll definitely be checking Christina’s availability first the next time we need a pet and house sitter for a trip!”

“I don't even know where to begin with how wonderful Ariel is! She took amazing care of our handful of a dog for 4 days while we were away and went above and beyond! She was very respectful of our home, which she offered to stay over to give our dog more company. She was very informative and communicating with me about everything from his feeding, bathroom breaks, and hours so would come and go. She asked great questions and genuinely cared about caring for our dog and interacting with him. I would highly recommend using Ariel for your pet sitting needs. I hope to be able to have her watch our dog again before the end of summer. 5+ stars for Ariel!”

“JL was an absolute dream! My boys -- a cat and a dog -- were so well taken care of, as was my apartment. They adored him. Took the dog on long walks and followed feeding directions to a T. Would indubitably have him pet-sit in the future.”

“Mackenzi did a wonderful job with our two dogs. She was a thoughtful dog and house sitter! Everything was cleaned up and the pups were well cared for! Hope to have her back again!”

“Julia watched our 6 month golden retriever in our home for four days. I was never worried about our dog in her care! She has very open communication and sent us updates each day. I highly recommend her to watch your pet!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Valley Falls
Jennifer was great with our dog and cat! She stayed the weekend while we were away, and we knew everything was going well based on the amount of communication (and photos), which was very much appreciated! We would happily recommend Jennifer to others, and will surely use her again!

Amazing! 2nd time asking Michelle to stay at our home with Sheba. The amount of attention and care that is given is outstanding. The picture updates are so welcomed and appreciated just to see how happy she is!. We know that Sheba is in great hands and we do not have to worry at all. Feeding, medication, pop in energy release visits and most important a cuddle buddy! Can't thank you enough Michelle!

Kristine is amazing. She is friendly, very accommodating, and knowledgeable about pets, their behaviors. and pets care. Kristine is great with my two very different and very “personalitied” pups. She is very responsive to messages re booking and incredibly communicative during visits and sittings. Kristine is an incredible overnight guest. I never worry about my pups or the house when traveling. I cannot recommend Kristine enough.

Virgelica was the best! She cared for my turtle & cat while we were both away. They can both be finicky pets but she did great with them and kept me up to date. The two of them are happy as can be since I returned home. I had tech issues while I was away and wasn't able to access the rover app frequently -- I'm glad rover provides a phone number so we could keep in contact that way. Virgelica was diligent, had great communication, and both of our pets happy! Would recommend her to anyone.

Kaytlyn and her partner Aaliyah are the best!!!! thy went above and beyond for my cat Milo and he absolutely loves them and is extremely well cared for if i have to go away. so well in fact i am worried i have disappointed my cat by returning 😭😭 i will be using them in the future and thank Rover for helping me find my absolutely purrrfect sitter!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Valley Falls walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Valley Falls maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Valley Falls choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Valley Falls. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
